I went out fishing Saturday and saw zero beds. Just went back to the same lake and found a million empty beds. Water 61-66 both days. My local 350 acre lake. I guess they only spawn while I’m at work.

Those trouble hikes do not have to be change at all. First you can add one or ring on trouble hoks to make it longer and also use player and make trouble hock wider( every hock. My best knot so far it the Yucatan knot. It's taken months to get reliable and caused a few grey hairs but I have not have the knot fail yet, only the leader has broken and the intact knot is left with a couple inches of leader left.
The Hookup Tackle had them, not sure whether in stock but if not keep following that channel and they will have them again I would think…they did a cool video when it first launched and an interview with the lure designer. But yeah, $16 is a lot but who loses frogs? Not often so if I’m gonna pay extra for a lure, a topwater is my top choice

You didn't really ask, so forgive me for offering unsolicited advice, but I used to have the same problem until I got the hang of making sure I had slack in the line and using minimal wrist movement (depending on the frog, the small movements can be more important - for instance, the Jackall Kaera).
I wanted one of these as soon as I saw the shark pattern if for nothing else than just to have one, but now that you have talked about it I will buy a few of them.
one thing i always felt that was detrimental to fish is the 'wear them down' attitude. you catch a fish on light or super light gear so that the fish puts up a bigger and longer fight. i dont know if fish have lactic acid or adrenaline but in humans a struggle releases those chemicals into our bodies in large quantities and when the struggle/fight is over we can barely move. in fish those chemicals could easily lead to the fish dying even if you dont count any other factors. i always try to just muscle the fish in as quickly as possible, take a quick picture and get them back in the water. do ones that i catch still die? theres a good chance that they still do, but i think iive given them a better chance to make it. no im not an expert on fish, this is just my thoughts.
I agree with what he is saying but for me, if the mats are so thick i need a brick for a sinker and a steel cable for a fishing line, i don't really want to fish there in the first place... Maybe a Hand Grenade or a Shotgun???
