Great video brought me back to my childhood mall 🥹 used to go here every weeked almost, super fun memories in the arcade and food court after shopping. Good movie theatre too its a shame they closed. Covid was the nail that sealed the coffin honestly
Man it's sad to see it like this. This was my mall and theatre. I like that things like Amazon are so easily accessible but I miss walking into a store and physically seeing with my own two eyes what I'm buying.
Nice video! I've snuck into this mall on multiple occasions with my friends. The first time I snuck in with my ex, we set off the alarms. I've gone in since with friends, and have had to escape Stockholm Security at one point. It's disappointing to see the state it's currently in, as I went here often as a kid, but it's a lot of fun to explore.
This saddens me. I have a ton of good memories at that mall, it was the place to go when I was a kid and teen. Unfortunately it has been on the decline for years now.
It’s really ridiculous and angering that the town and the residents are left to deal with this absolute nightmare of a property. No developer is going to want to purchase this place and invest the funds for demolition. The town and the state will probably have to offer major incentives to get anyone to tackle this type of project. Very sad. 😢
Shout out to the Godfather of Dead Malls, Dan Bell, for capturing this mall on video back when it was still open. He also filmed some other really sketchy places in Pine Bluff years ago.
Does anyone have an update from when that guy (not going to type his name) was supposed to buy the mall about a year ago? He had a lot of online and tv news attention about him purchasing the mall. There was also a video of him walking through talking about all the renovations he was going to do with the mall. He had a community day type event in the parking lot at the mall and then I never saw anything else… 🤔🤔🤔
Awesome video as usual. This mall is pretty cool. Very sad to see it like this. If you dont mind me asking, what job do you do that allows you to travel so much to do these explores. I would love to do more urbex myself but my career does not really allow for me to travel.
Just wow, the pines mall in pines bluff Arkansas.. I just saw the intro and damn, I agree with slacking , this mall is reaching the level of Jamestown mall. And honestly, it's sad to see. So many things left behind, the last video I saw about this place is now already 11 months old, in that space of time to the time of your recording bro, the mall has fallen so much more. Sad was seeing that food court flooded. 😢
The reason why this place is going downhill quickly is because of the fire caused a huge hole on a roof, allowing it to flood and rain, after that mold will takeover. It's only going to get worse, unless they fix the roof,
I grew up nearby in the 70's, its sad to watch these landmarks die. Every major retailer that I grew up with has gone bankrupt or is on its way. I guess we'll all have to sell crack to each other and call it progress, oh wait Amazon delivers my crack now.
flash mobs ruined this mall....my grandma used to take me here all the time for school deals an Christmas shopping .... I'm shocked belden village mall is still standing witch is not to far from there... N.R.E.
My friend and I waited in line inside this mall in '83 to see Return of the Jedi for 3 hours. They had a Little Professor bookstore that sold hobby stuff, a pretty decent "Rock n Roll store" that sold music, shirts and jewelry specifically for metal heads (don't remember what it was called), and a real nice arcade. The Camalot Music there was the first major VHS rental store in the area, but they charged somewhere around $100 a year to belong to their exclusive club AND you paid exorbitant prices for the rentals which were all 2 day limit. They put in a food court finally well after every other mall already had one right about the time they changed their name from Mellet to "Canton Centre", which was a change everyone hated BTW. Really, Mellet lived it's life as "that other mall" across town and played second fiddle to the much more popular "Belden Village" just a few miles away (which is still open and thriving today). It was the "lower rent", "ghetto mall" that was well past it's prime even in the 80's.
whats interesting to me , is that in Sears, they had plastic panels to cover the walls, so instead of painting, if they want or need to change the wall color, just change out the panels, Quite an Idea! 😀
