This was my lockdown project. After receiving a GoPro for Christmas I decided that I wouldn't really look at the footage ..... unless you guessed it I put stuff on RU-vid so here I am.

Based in Auckland and Rotorua, New Zealand. Riding bikes, exploring places and trying to finish in the top half of races.

I hope you enjoy & are encouraged by my videos.

Jace, way to persevere and finish despite the crash and puncture! You personify the true spirit of Leadville. You mentioned that your heart rate was 10 bpm higher and your blood oxygen was 95 on the day before the race. What was it when you first got to altitude 9 days earlier? Did you notice your resting heart rate decreasing daily? Is that a sign you are acclimatizing?
@jaselikesbikes
@jaselikesbikes 3 дня назад
My blood oxygen was in the 80s and seemed to go up 2 % or so a day, my resting heart rate was in the 80s and was down to 60s and it is normally 50s. Yes I thin k those signs are a good indication that you are on the right track.

That looks like a really poorly designed bag actually. I have a bag “with all that velcro.” I can take in on and off to adjust my seat faster than you can while fiddling with your boa strap, a strap that is fiddly and constantly exposed to tire spray and which will eventually fail and render the bag useless. An overly complicated Boa mechanism on a saddle bag is senseless! I can mount a light directly to my bag (as is the case for almost every other bag on the marker) that is pointing straight backwards. This bag has nowhere to mount a light, but even if it did it would have the light angled towards the sky. You use a separate fixed mount attached to the saddle in your set up to mount a light, which is just ridiculous. My “Velcro” is instantly adjustable so it will keep everything snug inside and keep the bag from “flopping around.” Never have I felt a bag move around while cycling and I doubt you ever have either. You mentioned no critiques of this bag, only invented critiques for traditional bags. Look at all of the negatives of this bag that some of your viewers have mentioned in this thread, none of which you care to share, or even considered. Your review seems disingenuous and I suspect this had to be a sponsored, but undeclared, review. If not sponsored, then you are guilty at the very least of using hyperbole simply to create content. If so, you are being dishonest and are doing a disservice to your viewers. If your viewers don't trust you, why should they ever follow you.
@jaselikesbikes
@jaselikesbikes 21 час назад
Wow you really thought about this. No not sponsored, I just liek the product. It would have been nice to know which bag you use. I don’t think that I have seen a bag with a light mount but it would take some adjustment to get the light pointing at the correct angle would it not? In my opinion it is a good looking bag that does it’s job well and you can’t say that for too many bags, although they are getting better!

Hi Jase, Johnathan Lee from Trainer Road says you need 1.9W/kilo to finish in 12 hours. So if you are at 3.2 w/kilo at sea level you would multiply that by 80% for altitude adjustment, then times 70% for all day Zone 2. That would put you at 1.8 watts/kilo average for the day. Do you think Johnathan Lee's rule of thumb is accurate?
@jaselikesbikes
@jaselikesbikes 16 дней назад
I remember listening to that podcast. I think 1.9 maybe a little too high. My pacing was….. Pacing FTP-18% and do 70-75% FTP 250 - 50 = 200 - NP at 75% Is 150 aim for 150 for 10hours- 2w/kg IF of 0.65 of sea level FTP which is 162@250 and 156@240 so between 150-160 NP. I had an IF of 0.62 and an NP of 152 I had a moving time of 10:24. or 2-2.1 w/kg. My overall time was mins longer due to a crash/puncture and stops.
