I got my refurbished t490 last month. It's really good cos the specs I think still relevant.

@@donnychua7975 I'll have mine in a couple days. WQHD 500 nit screen, 8th gen Intel cpu, 16GB RAM, 1 TB SSD. Already own X1 Carbon 6th with same screen & specs. T490 will be used as a desktop. Have docks for all.

T490 has more lifecycle left imo than T490s (former has 1x ram slot which is upgradable, the s model is soldered on for ram).

If the price is right and you've enough ram. Sure. Check the usb-c port and screen wear is acceptable if buying refurbished.

Err, this would have been shot way before we spent any money on audio setup. Can't fix backwards but got the audio gears now.

Err T480 is an older business laptop. Okay build quality but older now. Legion has dGPU and is a gaming laptop.

DIY maybe but imo not worth it. You'd have to buy 2x layers of LED bezel and hope that the panel itself doesn't have imperfections after fitting. Imo because T480 has depreciated so much vs new (6 years old now) imo it's only worth replacing if it's smashed. Even then we'd probably get a used assembly with screen built-in to swap. Better save the money on T14 Gen 2 or newer.

I mostly use the Logitech mx mouse and forget the internal trackpad exists. Not feasible if moving alot though.
