We don't know the context of the store. There could have been an special tournament or you might need to be an registered OCG player to compete. Any business has the right to refuse service.
In America you can have a diverse environment but they would all communicate in English. In Japan you need to communicate in Japanese to enter a tournament, simple. Forcing people to speak English to accommodate you is selfish and time consuming.
Imagine being so entitled that you fly to another country that you're not a citizen of, you're not ethnically from there, and you don't speak the language, and then you claim discrimination when they don't want a fucking gaijin stinking up their store. There's a reason the phrase "When in Rome, do what the Romans do" exist.
What ever way you want to phrase it doesn't make it right. Stupid jokes like when in Rome doesn't excuse the blatant discrimination. Speaking the language should be mandatory because communication is important. But to kick someone out who speaks the language well just makes it even worse. I'm sure if these closed minded people went to America on a business trip and needed to get a drink from a store but was denied. They would feel like they were being miss treated so there for they shouldn't do it to others.
Wow, this was a great video! You are so darn right about this. US and Canadian players feel entitled, but it's the way we were raised. That's why everyone else wants to come here while we're over here trying to get out. They see the land of the free and opportunity. But we were raised in it, so it's hard for us to see it.
8:30 You essentially claim maxx c like effects make it so the best decks are "mid range decks". I don't mean to be that guy, but is there ANY actual evidence for this? I think I've heard you don't play MD which is quite telling because the best decks in that format are Yubel and SE. Maxx C doesn't make the best decks go away if they are combo decks. We've seen this again and again in MD. The meta decks will always either 1: Be able to make a low key board with maybe a disruption in the hand like tear, or 2: The deck is so efficient they can reliably play all the maxx c outs + 12-15 hand traps, so that even if they get maxx c'd they might be able to live with 2 hand traps. This is why SE is still the best deck in a format with or without maxx c. It's funny because the three tier zero decks you named: tear, kash, and fire, all are tier zero in a format with or without maxx C. Tear can just make a low key board a lot of the time and play on your turn, kash doesn't really have to special that much anyway. Fire (as mentioned before) is just the best deck with 1 card starter/extenders, enabling it to have the most room for non-engine which, surprise surprise, helps them in slower pace games anyway, the thing you claim they shouldn't be good at if maxx c exists. Even if an SE player gets maxx c'd they still have a chance to live with double hand trap. Meta decks will always have the room. Maxx C just hurts the non meta decks who can't reliable fit their engine + maxx c outs + hand traps/breakers. I don't mean to be rude, I just feel like I see this argument come up again and again, and I feel like no one actually gives any type of evidence to support it. I really think people should play a format BOTH with and without maxx c before giving their opinion because I'm pretty sure I heard you say you don't play MD and there's no way you're playin OCG. It's the classic "Maxx C keeps combo decks in check". No it doesn't man. The best combo decks play 3 maxx C, 6 outs to maxx C, and 12-15 hand traps in a 40 card deck. Statistically, maxx C is not stopping these decks enough for people to go off of them and play other more midrange options.
Well I agree in some sense but do have a few suggestions. The face every combo deck has been Apollousa. Making 3-4 material Apollousas' and adding 2 or 3 more interruptions is unhealthy and Snake-Eyes have proven that. So if Apollousa, Flamberge, Beatrice, and Yama are banned we will enter a not necessarily completely fixed format but the best most future proofed format we have had in recent years. Konami will get to make money off of Caesar being a card the Fiendsmith package can bring out( Which Caesar is only about on the barrier of what 1 card should or shouldn't do and allows other extra deck types other than fusions to have their 1 chance to not got Nibirued.) Something people forget is Konami cares about us and have kept this game alive longer than any other card game with their decisions. Some times its hard but humans aren't flawless and a company lead by humans will make mistakes. Floodgates are is a hard topic to discuss. But the reason why the limited so many of them instead of banning them is because behind the scenes casuals pay more than competitive players for products and allowing them to have their cheesy blowouts + have Droll, Shifter, and Nibiru encentivizes them to keep paying for Yu-Gi-Oh products. In return they built decks with multiple summoning mechanics that don't always revolve around grave and even gave us ways to get cards back from the banished zone. They did all of that to keep both groups happy. Branded without Sanctifire is considered one of the healthiest decks in Yu-Gi-Oh for putting up boards that most modern mid-range decks can put up. One of the most common examples of a modern mid-range deck is Voiceless Voice. Which has one spell/trap or monster negate, a spell/trap negate off of Odd-Eyes Pendulumgraph, the Sauravis ritual monster, and Radiance of the Voiceless Voice which can destroy 1 card for every light warrior or dragon ritual monster you control by sending itself to the grave. Other Yu-Gi-Oh players have discussed that Centurion has a load of 1 card combos but without Calamity their somewhat stoppable 1 card combos don't feel unfair and a lot of people don't hate them which means there is a design space for 1 card combos where they are ok to exist. Joshua Schmidt said that Voiceless is either over the line or on the line of how good 1 card combos should be. But he doesn't hate Voiceless. However he did say Snake-Eyes Ash is definitely beyond the line. Snake-Eyes Ash gives you your full combo, recursion, and follow and should never be a mistake to be made again. Also in return for Yama being banned it would be good to put Shavara back to 3.
I passed on ycs sacramento because of the format, didnt feel like dropping money on fiendsmith and didnt want to play snake eyes and didnt want to get stomped due to not playing those things. I just want more decks to be tier 1, give us like 5 decks that are all the best deck with thier own strengths and weaknesses and id be happy. 1 deck formats arent fun (excpet tear format, honestly it was a super skillful and fun format)
9:24 That's Already in Master Duel. And Yeah I Can tell you that No one Playing Midrange Deck. It's Either Stun or Combo Balls to the Wall like Yubel and Snake-Eye Fire King. There is no in Between.
There is way to make cards they need to reprint all the cards that actually make the game fun instead of have 300 cards in the banned list. That way it's kinda easier to navigate
People are in denial , thats all i gotta say. 900 man cali YCS is insane considering most cali regionals hit those numbers. Between bad prizing and horrible formats i think players are finally waking up and speaking with their feet when it comes to konami.
man, i wish we had another banlist, remember when even unchained was tier 1 simply because the meta wasnt that overpowered? I believe thats the best way to have an healthy format, to let all the decks to be equally good and to have 0 tier 0 decks I think those sweet 6 months was the best time to ever play yugioh even on an competitive level
Blame the pro players for ruining that, cause they couldn't handle a format that gave them a taste of what being stuck at the lower tables where you can find just about anything was like.
Yeah does anyone seriously believe this ban list is going to do anything at all. Fiendsmith will still be tier 1 or 0 after this list. And best case situation they actually do hit yubel, fiendsmith, and snake-eyes but then they will release a new tier 0 deck within a month or 2 and we will be EXACTLY back to where we were. Konami cant be trusted with yu gi oh. Terrible company.
Players never learn. 1) It's too soon to hit Fiendsmith. Konami will ban Beatrice like they did with Snake-Eye by banning Linkuriboh. 2) Even if Konami hit Snake-Eye, it won't change anything. In OCG, Ash and Wanted are limited, Bonfire is at 2 and the deck is still making top.
Unless they just ban Flamberge and kill the deck which making it unplayable would work in this case and is imo a distinct possibility given that Flamberge is suspiciously missing from the mega tin reveal despite cards like wanted and Diabellstar being there
Maxx C would be a toxic band-aid for another toxic problem. It is easily the most used card in the game in the formats it is allowed in. If at less than 3, it becomes super sacky. If at 3, it warps the game around it and the new game becomes "do you stop Maxx C?" which distracts from the fact all the other problems are still there piling up. All for what? because sometimes you draw it and your opponent has no out and they are going first so you force them to either forsake their turn, do a very minimalistic board that still nets you 4-6 draws, or accept that you'll start with half your deck on the hand coming turn 2? I don't think the card should come back.
I disagree, all due respect V. What you smoking? Yes, the format is stale, lot of people do not like it, do not want to play. Sacramento 900+ “is a terrible number” 🤷🏽♂️What? Can not be compared to Pasadena 6 hours away, LA 6 hours away. These are SoCal. Distinctly different. Indianapolis. C’mon bra really? No comment. Not to say there could have been a better turn out. But, to say it not a good amount of players, need the numbers and stats of last years YCS Sacramento’, the year before, compare to previous event not a different location all together , different event time, different different just saying. I feel you throwing fuel to the fire. 🫢
Yugioh has an easy yet drastic fix; • Ban all lingering flood gates. • Board breakers will run rampant without lingering floodgates, so ban all of them. • Omni negates will run rampant without board breakers. Ban all of them, especially generic ones.
It's not exactly that simple, but a step in the right direction. There's a lot of cards in-between that would become extremely toxic. The thing is, Konami needs to stop printing crazy good cards rn, and do research on the prominent cards and archetypes that everyone's talking about. Then hit said cards in big waves of I'd say around 20 cards on a banlist, then repeat this process til we find a sweet spot to go forward again, using the gameplay of that format as the standard for future card design. We need to stop going forward and start retracing steps and going backwards and start really X'ing out problems, cuz there's too many to count on both hands.
Im expecting a crazy banlist and maybe a master rule change. Who knows, yugioh is trending atm for all the hate its receiving. Konami must fix some things pronto.😢
Konami is hinting at something big for the banlist. They have now acknowledged it twice which has probably never happened before. Expect a serious switch up from this list
At the end of the day some decks are justngoung to fall out of fav into the back seat. There is a ton of archtypes that not too ling ago were good . In order for new archtypes to come out some will be worse and fall out of favor. It is what it is. Cant keep making the same card or archtype over and over again
