Yugioh players are on copium.. game is dead. The majority of the players only play casually.

That's the biggest note right there. People are playing more casually than before. People would rather get together with a group of friends and run some matches back at one of the friends house then go to any yugioh event and play. Even locals! Komoney isn't stupid and they know the vast majority of the player base is casual. Why is why they're more focused on marketing towards them. They will continue to buy because they truly don't care like we do and just want that nostalgia.

Honestly I’d even argue the casual scene is dying as even casual gamers want to once in a while play competitively but if Yugioh is too difficult they’ll spend less time and money.

This. Im pretty sure yugioh is still in the top 3 most played TcGs world wife still especially OCG. Pokemon is massive world wide, but MTG isnt at all compared to ygo

From what I’ve heard, the younger players in Japan are playing Rush Duel, not the OCG.

Spot on except on the Lorcana section where you mention that Ravensburger doesn’t know what they’re doing. We wouldn’t have so many players coming over to this game if that were the case from YGO and others.

Just play edison on the side, and keep your options open. Fomo is what hurts yugioh players the most. 😂

I stopped buying Komoney products. I just buy singles off the secondary market. If you want to build a deck and stay competitive: let the content creators break open cases and sell to us lol

I think it’s absolutely not worth it to buy a plane ticket, hotel to go to a YCS. Unless you go with group of friends for the experience, it’s just a waste of money to go alone or with one other person in my opinion. And don’t get me started on yugitubers who are sponsored. Always saying “Konami what have you done?!” Or “this is the best set of the year” etc. I get it, they get income from this but it’s so disingenuous lol
