If you thought this was my first channel, then you're in the wrong place. This is, in fact, my second channel. The place where I like to upload stuff that is a little bit more chill, a bit more relaxed and just a tad . . .well . . not good enough for my first channel....
Plane if you can call it that... To begin with, the I-15 plane is completely Arcade in both RB and SB, pure science fiction, it has nothing to do with reality. It is an airplane for novices, apart from the fact that it is a USSR indoctrinator for donkeys, it is favored by Gaijin... along with the souped-up I-15, the I-16 and the BB-1. Therefore, an aerial combat with any of those planes is purely Arcade vs. Realistic or Simulation, as they say. "Are you one-armed? That's what the USSR is for" the failures. They may start to cry.
Ok, I saw your little channel and I saw the title (World of Warships player here) and i got curious as to exactly WHY is the plane unplayable. I saw no answer and now I am sad.
because the elevator works wrong - it works in the oposite way to how physics works. That's what makes it unplayable lol It's a bit of a joke amongst WT players to call things "literally unplayable" for the smallest of issues - like a hull machine gun on a tank not being modelled, or something having the wrong shade of paint
UPDATE: Gaijin fixed the elevator deflection issue literally a couple of hours after this video was made . . . I'm going to keep it up for posterity though :)
Yes, I did notice that it actually hadn't changed - even though they said in the update patchnotes that they had fixed it when I left the original pinned comment
If i get behind you in my I-15 reserve the white one you are done. Short of your teammate sniping me you are dead. The guns are in the nose and intuitive to aim. I play low tier cause i like the tight and low turns and reversals. You can get alot of response just with throttle control alone.
lol when you put all that work into setting an enemy on fire or they go into an unrecoverable flatspin only for someone else to swoop out of the blue and get the kill . . .
He claims it has "tiny rifle-caliber guns..." without mentioning that the caliber is bigger than virtually all US, Japanese, USSR, French, and British guns of the same BR.
ah, yes, I can see how this would make a difference. The He-100 fires 7.92mm rounds The USSR planes mostly have 7.62mm rounds The UK and Japan have 7.7mm The USA have 7.7mm as well (although at this BR there are those with some 12.7mm weapons) France probably comes off worse with their 7.5mm weapons They are all pretty similar sizes, but I suppose if we look at the French round size and compare, that is a difference of 0.42mm per round. Whilst this might be a miniscule disadvantage, more often than not these aircraft that use this caliber tend to have more guns than the HE-100 so i think kinda make up for it. It's not like the he-100 is firing cannons here and has a wild advantage weapon-wise over the adversaries at this BR
Just discovered your channel, great stuff !! I'm really into aviation at the moment and I also love games, but I'm not much of an online gamer.. I have no idea how war thunder works, the etiquette, what I should do how the game works etc... I really have no idea what I'm doing and I get killed very quickly and easily. I love watching war thunder gameplay and your channel simply because I love aviation and I'm fascinated with videos of planes and dog fights, but at the moment I'm not having much enjoyment out of playing it but I would really love to. Any chance you could do a "war thunder for beginners" video where you give advice and show newbies like me what to do?
Long short story, yes The I-15 is a difficult aircraft to engage when NOT in a I-15, much more in a monoplane Even a noob newcomer to WT like me can get a K/D of around 3 in it
@mattssecondchannel I always put at least 2 of these in my lineup at higher BR when i mess around in arcade and I take them out right at the start when everyone is taking out their best shit and I inflict as much damage just by turning and briefly engaging whatever is in my sights. and I rack up kills and assists.. typically I don't even get to my "good" planes and I'm consistently in the top 5. The free repairs are awesome too.
this things flight model is bullshit in game , at low speed you have more agility than high speed in a swept wing aircraft? also its acceleration and thrust to weight make no sense. this aircrafts engines and power Made it a icon. being documented as being able to accelerate in a vertical climb and was better than the f4 phantoms that the uk had in service in a intercept role as why would this thing have operated until 1980. whoever does the historical data for top tier British vehicles in war thunder is either incompetent ( the imperial war museum document the lightning as able to accelerate in a climb how can he not find that) or majorly biased .
Kinda worked tbh, at least in this game. Perhaps if the German aviation industry and government had been a little different in their policies this aircraft might have seen more real world use
8 second turn around and 4 7 mm guns. I've learned my lesson to never engage this thing with a P26-A Or literally anything else that isn't like battle rating 3.0 or higher. Russian bias.
I wonder how large the crossover is between Scale Modelers and War Thunder Players. I bet it's a pretty sizeable number. Great video, looking forward to more from both channels. 👍
Yeah I think there are quite a few! Every now and then someone in game recognises my user name and is like “I build models too!” Because they seen some of my content. Is pretty wholesome 😊
To be honest here there's no game or simulator that can justify the Lightning's agility... granted after I watched an interview with Ian Black who flew them in 86' said once fighters like the F-15, 16, 14 and other modern types she was outclassed and didn't even have an RWR.. hence why they were retired quickly by 1988.. she's a brilliant point-defence fighter in protecting UK airspace but not an aircraft that would go to war... Loving the footage though Matt, and nice flying. 😀
Thanks! Yeah, sadly the game style doesn’t really fit the intention the lightning was designed for. If there was a “bomber intercept” game mode that would fit quite well, but seeing as the primary gamestyle is fighter vs fighter it kinda doesn’t have the strength there
Well, against early generation MiG's, Mirage's and F-104 era types it was good if not better but I've watched your footage and live feeds you've done on WT and granted you can see the difference of how the Lightning has been neutered... Some developers of WT are biased towards certain spec types/eras/nation based aircraft and they haven't done the British side of aviation any favours.. maybe enough noise from the communities may change things? Personally I have no idea.... we'll have to wait and see?
I've found, for some reason, the lightning turns tighter with them on - also, without them on, the plane bleeds energy in a turn to a huge extent which makes it slow down really quickly and then be a sitting duck
I think because they don't know how to use it properly, I always see people turnfighting in it, getting shot down because its built for speed not turning, then complaining because the plane sucks
I'm from the UK - we use MPH as our speed measurement whilst driving here - as it is the most familiar unit I'm used to, I just stuck with it. I could change it to Kts or KPH but they don't have as much "real world" reference to me as I never use them
