The Hawker Typhoon Mk.1a always seemed to not be as popular as the spitfires and hurricanes in the British tree on War Thunder. In this video I explore some of the reasons why that might be, including it's slow roll rate and compressibility . . . But also some of the positives that can make it an effective and competitive aircraft in it's battle rating.
Join me in this video as I explore the Hawker Typhoon Mk1.a and why I think it's a pretty good aircraft to play with in Air Realistic Battles.

I love playing in the Mk 1a. I thinks it's amazing, when you take in the speed, ammo, guns and turn time with a sprinkle of British bias, this plane has it all.

The plane loses control when u take in speed and it’s impossible to pull down the nose which is an incredibly bad plane

And it can catch unsuspecting enemies who underestimate it. The number of times I’ve put turned a bf109 in it 😂

Oh wow I just got this because I'm trying to get the Spitfire Mk.5b Trop because it was my first plane model from Tamiya

@@mattssecondchannel It was a lot of fun doing drybrushing, chip effects, and painting a figure. The battle damage looks like it tried landing with out gear and the figure could have gone better

This came out less than a week after I did a speaking test for french about it, and the 1a was originally an interceptor, but It didn’t do very well and became a fighter bomber

Personally I prefer to run the Tiffies in slick configuration, you lose a little less speed.

Yeah, that is true. I dont mind taking those bombs out for a little extra ground pounding though :D

@@mattssecondchannel Yeah, they di a good job. On the 1b, I tend to take the thousand-pounders if I'm going for ground attack, though the RP-8s can be decent if you can aim them.
