My organization only offers services to one state in the U.S., so I'm not sure that an ad grant even makes sense. Ad grants are more useful for organizations that have a national reach, correct?
Outstanding question. The most important factor to consider is the search volume of the keywords in your region. Ideal is keywords that are low competition with ample searches behind them. If a lot of people are searching for you in your state, then you'll have more demand to tap into by being there in search results.
@@chrisredshaw7663 Yeah there's not a lot of search volume for what they do or even on low competition informational queries related to what they do within their target state. Everything has 10, 50 searches. If I expand out to the entire country there is, but then again, that's not their target market that they're offering services to. Just think they wouldn't spend anywhere near to $10,000 since the geographical targeting is so small.
We have a grant account and have accumulated a substantial amount of data over past two years. When you say a “separate budget” for retargeting do you mean that the retargeting must occur in a paid account? Not the ad grant account?
The Google Ad Grant gives you visibility in Google Search. For Retargeting, whether through Google's Display Network or through social ads, you'll need to use a 'real budget'. Grant budget is for use on Google Search only.
Love the suggestion to use DSA, they're really useful on a new or under-performing Ad Grant account IF the website has enough good-quality, well-organized content.
hiya! Thanks for reaching out and happy to chat. The best way is through the contact form on reefdigital.com.au (Get In Touch button). Look forward to speaking with you
DSA is indeed a really useful strategy for a new or under-performing Ad Grant account. I've even managed to run an entire grant account on just three DSA ad groups, where the website had a magazine-style format and a lot of great, well-organized content. CTR and Conversion rate tend to be higher than average for DSA, compared to RSA ad groups. But if the nonprofit is cautious and particular about the brand and messaging, DSA should be used sparingly. It can run wild and Google doesn't always write ideal headlines. It might also glom onto pages that you wouldn't prioritize to promote, so add those urls as negatives or tighten up on the dynamic targeting if that happens. I might run DSA for a few months to discover which landing pages and search terms Google chose and to gather performance data, then replace the DSA with standard ad groups. Google tend to recommend you put DSA in its own campaign. I don't: I add one or more DSA ad groups to existing, topic-focused campaigns. I think that helps to power the campaign's conversion-focused bidding strategy.
heya! thanks for commenting. Are you looking for help with registering a nonprofit? if so, the best thing to do is to look up how to start a nonprofit in your unique region. Once you've got that sorted, you can then apply for the Google Grant
@@user-ge9up1hp5q if you find great keywords to target, see if you can get new landing pages created. It will make a big difference to your Ad Quality and CTR
Hey man, really good stuff. Any chance you can make a video on how to get the google ads grant for 2023, alot of videos about it are out of date Would really appreciate it Thanks :)
Not yet on RU-vid. You may like to check out the Google for Nonprofits hub where you can fill out the application form. It's google.com/nonprofits @@musbibabanla4279
So good and informative! I love how you show an actual application. It made it very clear. I just wish the person talking would talk a bit slower and clearer so I can understand better.
You & your team could have put in a lot less effort and the video would still have been useful; but many thanks for choosing to go those extra miles and making it outstanding. You guys deserve at least 100 times more subscribers and at least 10 times more views. Best of luck.
These are both great suggestions. I'd add this: Enable campaigns to bid competitively. Set up conversion tracking and use a conversion-based bidding strategy: Maximize conversions is an ideal starting strategy. There are still many nonprofits out there stuck with an upper bid of $2 because they're incorrectly using Max clicks or manual bidding, and they're not getting many impressions.
Hi Michael, thanks for your comment. The new beta helps you to understand how different attribution models distribute credit across the conversion paths. It gives you the opportunity to generate reports for attribution analysis (conversion paths, lag, model comparison, conversion path length). Hope this helps.
