We are Ton and Will, from Somerset, UK. We packed up, sold or gave to charity, all of our household belongings and moved into our small van which we've now made our home and live in fulltime! We bought our Dreamer D55 campervan in 2021 and we're using RU-vid to record our memories, hopefully you’ll find it entertaining! We learnt so much about Motorhomes, & Campers from RU-vid, maybe we'll now have some top tips of our own!
A motorcycle racing crash 23 years ago left Will with a painfully broken right ankle. He finally made the decision to have it amputated in Oct 2018 “Best thing ever!”
Ton AKA GONK - similar look to a 1970's wild blonde troll pencil topper. Will AKA MOODY - one legged, hearing impaired middle aged man with a heart condition. That should explain where GONK AND MOODY originated!
Hello love your videos I do see you around a lot definitely in Exmouth but this morning saw you in Exeter Tesco’s I was parked in my silver camper van, same as yours right opposite you. Will say hello next time
Enjoyed that very much. Having a unit makes sense to me rather than cluttering the van. We love that you can hear the lions at that site. That Bratwurst looked the business 🤔. Never been to the festival but well worth going. Your food certainly looked yummy. That aeroplane firework display was amazing. Thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks very much both of you. Appreciate that very much. We use those tortilla pockets because we badly lack Carol's incredible wrapping skills! 😁 Thanks again 👍❤️
Hi Will. I was intermittent fasting and it worked great, losing at least 1lb per week doing that alone. However, my body cottoned onto what I was doing and after about 9 months the weight loss stopped. So I’ve gone back to having breakfast again for a few months and then I’ll give it another go. Good luck with yours.
That is interesting! I've been doing this for about 12 months now, and have only very recently thought that I 'feel' like I've stagnated. I think I'll follow your example, thanks for the good advice 👍👍
@@gonkandmoody hi buddy I’ve had mine fitted underneath our van best thing we had fitted but go for a decent make not a Chinese one I can put you on to a great guy who done ours & you can switch it on & off with you phone so it’s nice and warm when you get back to the van Let me know if I can help anytime
Only just found your page and love it. We use a karcher window vac in our van for condensation (use it in the bathroom after a shower too). Works great, we are now looking at putting thermal insulation in our roof windows for the night Time to help keep the van less drafty at night.
Thank you 👍😊 Re insulation, if you find something please let us know. And when we do, we'll share it somehow too 👍 We've got a Karcher too, but need to start having it with us again for the colder times. Thanks for the reminder 👍😀 Great to have you with us. ❤️
Great tips for a newbie camper van owner, however can I ask about your green storage you have on the drivers sun visor. They look fab. Just ordered the black pockets for remote control fed up of putting a table up to not lose them. Thank you😊
Thanks for the comment! We got them at TK Maxx ages ago but I've just found them on Amazon for you, just click on the link and it 'should' take you straight there 🤞😁 Bookaroo Notebook Tidy-Turquoise amzn.eu/d/bwNo1QA
That was a fun watch video! Well done. 👏 We live in Bridgwater so Exeter Ikea is quite close for us. I love wandering and finding useful items. My wife is more the in and out Ikea shopper.🙄 She doesn't know what she could be missing! 🤣 As someone else said, I bought some faux plants for our van, including some of those that dangle down from the shelf in the cab, and think they add value. But not for home. As you were on 999 subscribers, I just had to be subscriber number 1,000!🤩 It would have been rude not to. 😂
Hi, if you click on the link below you can find all the details you need. They're great little things! 😁👍 www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08JLS5BTH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Thank you :) Ton will list them later [we forgot them]...... [I forgot to list them for her] But here you go, these:www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08JLS5BTH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Thanks again for the comment.
I've never seen our local IKEA here in France as empty as that! Can you end up getting lost in yours too? Interesting to see the little storage ideas, might borrow some for the cab of my crappy plaggy van. LOL Bonne route à tous les deux!
Thanks :) It opens at 10am, we were in there before it opened as we felt a bit self conscious wondering around talking to Tons phone, I still find it a bit weird lol!
@@gonkandmoody Yes I'm the same. I'm working on a video of my trip in August from here in the Paris suburbs to the Dordogne, via bus, tram & TGV. For a lot of it I filmed "secret squirrel" for the first time, as I travelled. Put a hole in my bumbag with the lens of my DJI Osmo poking through. The rest of the time I attempted to talk to the camera on my phone. Felt very self conscious, I'd feel the same having to talk a lot to a camera in a supermarket. In another future video I did some footage in the old town in Cognac, borrowing Ton's idea of having the camera at the end of a long selfie stick. I was holding it like an umbrella in the town (comical), then later on in a market where we were staying. In the footage loads of people were giving me the beady eye. May as well have a neon RU-vidr sign around my neck. LOL
These tips are great for new people, I had the table out then put it back in but I think I’m going to take it out along with the passenger seat back and try something different there.
Size is relevant to where you are in your vanlife journey. Our dealer told us he will never produce bigger than a 6.3m or smaller than a 5.4m van because everyone ends up with this size in the end. He gets those upsizing (like us) and those downsizing (everyone who gets fed up with the parking). I thought that was quite shrewd 😁. How do you get on with your Ecoflow. I have a Delta max, the last update messed up the display but its still working. The fan noise is a pain. Safe travels 👍
Could not agree more. We look around now and again, but love what we have. With all the pros and cons, this still van wins (for us) Our Ecoflow is the Delta 2, it's excellent. We've combined it with the Ecoflow alternator charger. Fitted it ourselves, so, must be easy 😉 and that keeps us fully charged all of the time. Our Solar panel, we realised recently, has been on the blink, probably for a good few months, and we didn't realise or notice. We're both running laptops, all the usual Cameras and phones, and a similar cooking pot to yours (we agree, BTW, those pots badly need better/lower heat controls) mostly off of the ecoflow combo. Actually, whenever we use that pot we term it a 'Carol and Ken' going back to your meals in Little Red. Very inspirational, when we were looking and wondering about getting a van 😃 Great to hear from you. 👍
Cornish pasties... One thing we can't get over here in France... Miss those and Pukka pies from my native Leicester. BTW up there a bap is a soft roll and a cob a hard crusty one. Is it the same down there in the West Country? I suppose I can't moan too much, we have boulangeries over here with lots of nice things. Nice Baps looks like an excellent place though. Enjoying the videos... Bonne continuation...!
I think it is the same but not 100 % sure. Personally, I go with, Soft Roll or Crusty Roll.. But, I am one the the more simply folk of these here parts 😂
@@gonkandmoody I aint posh, even if I do live in France. LOL I love telling French friends about crisp sandwiches. To their horror. My favourite was a crusty cob with grated Red Leicester...
Oh, yes! Gratered Cheddar, salt and pepper, plenty of butter in a crusty roll. Packet of Golden Wonder 'plain' crisps and a bottle of Corona cherryade. I'm 7 again, out for the day in my dad's lorry. 😋
@@gonkandmoody Do the Corona Fizzicle. LOL Round our way we had the Alpine pop lorry that came round (a Bedford TK). Come to think of it I was around 6 to 8 years old then, we moved house and lived with my Grandparents for a while. It was even better there, as the baker/mobile shop would come round in his Tranny van. Coming into her kitchen with a massive wire basket full of sweets and chocolate. Me and my Uncles swarmed around it. :) Outings in a lorry must have been fun.
@MegaBreadvan I think we shared a life, in different parts of the country 😊 In our Wiltshire village, we had a baker van (Taylors, still going) also in a Transit. Bedford TK! My uncle drove one. My dad's was a KM. Good times, good time to be a kid in a small village. Skateboard, Raleigh Chopper (don't get me started!) 😂
I agree on the guitar shop, would love to own one 🙂 Looked a lovely site and Bath is pretty much as i remember from years and years ago, lovely music as well, also, just subscribed, cheers and all the best Trev Debz and Tyler xx
Thanks👍😁 We'll definitely do it again, I think we missed most of the 'wonderful' in the mist and fog, that said, in its way that was quite lovely too. 👍
In 1899 the lifeboat crew from Lynmouth dragged their boat overland to Porlock Weir up and down those steep hills to rescue a ship in distress. 13 miles! They saved everyone an incredible feat. You can read the full story on the RNLI website. Bad enough in a modern vehicle
That's amazing isn't it! Can't imagine. We plan to go back and spend some proper time in Lynton and Lynmouth, and I'll enjoy looking into that history, thank you 👍👍👍😊
Hiya you 2 great to see your latest, it's funny we use to live in North Devon for quite a few years and Sent many a time going up the A39. Lovely place. Take care sid n chris
Hey Dave! 😀 Good to hear from you. Not 100% sure yet, I'll see 8f we've left it too late to book and try to get in. If not we'll probably day visit anyway and look out for you and family 👍
