Spring 2024 found us in Westbourne, Hampshire. A lovely day for a walk into Emsworth Town to find a Post Office and a walk around the harbour. We stumbled on Zero West Watches, what a brilliant, unexpected find! Take a look around the shop / workshop at the limited edition, UK made watches which contain the actual metal from specific iconic aircraft such as the Spitfire and Merlin fighter planes and the Flying Scotsman.

I know, we totally stumbled upon it. The chap that owned or co-owned the business was super nice and informative and enthusiastic. Spot on, definitely prefer to have one of his watches over many others ;) [saving our pennies as I type]

Looks like a lovely part of the world and typically English. Sometimes I miss my dose of being back over there. Love 30's houses too. We lived in a semi-detached bay windowed place until I was 8, before migrating to a 40's council house when I was 8.

The houses are lovely 😊 and really take you back to a less crowded time, when there was plenty of room for big houses with lovely gardens on wide roads. They'd probably get a whole housing estate on one of those plots now! 🫤

@@gonkandmoody Yes have noticed over there that every bit of space is used. My Mum lived in a sheltered housing bungalow. Garages behind her old garden have gone to be replaced by flats. Same here in our Paris region village. Allotments next door are earmarked for two new very small houses. Things won't be as quiet as they used to be.
