Dear Euan, thank you for your Video. Very nice Setup - Homelab is really a passion. I startet with a Router, Intel NUC and a unmanaged Switch, mounted on the wall. After constructing of our House i planed everythin new with a 19" Rack and a full Unifi Setup. This was 5 years ago. Now I'm in the Phase to renew everything with UDM and 10G Networking via Fibre. As one wrote - life long joruney :) Greetings from South Germany - Daniel.
I had to search for this mount on Amazon....it doesn't readily come up under the Insta360 store when I searched that. AND...strangely enough, this mount did not show up on Insta360's OWN ONLINE STORE at all?!?!? Strange... Anyway...mines on the way now...should have it tomorrow...
If is just turning then the compression plug could have been loosen up, try LIGHTLY tapping the bolt down, everything should come out and you will have to reassembled and insert the compression plug
Nice Job. I'll join the others that mentioned that there is advantage to putting the patch panels above and below the switch. I did notice that your equipment doesn't actually have a 10gb upgrade path. The SFP+ ports on the UDM Pro are only useful for an uplink and downlink and that switch only has 1gb/s SPF ports. I think you would probably find that if you wanted to upgrade a few devices to the higher speed you likely will be purchasing Unifi's aggregation switch to get there in the ecosystem without it costing an arm and a leg. Although if you only needed to connect a Synology NAS high speed to a single computer there is the option of using a crossover cable and directly attaching a PC directly to the high speed port while connecting the other NIC to the network which would allow the high speed connection on that one device without any switch purchase at all.
Mechanically it can but I wouldn't do it because the trails have branches and stuff that can possibly snag or grab it off, the x4 can however be mounted directly to the top cap mount without the selfie stick
@@teckinmylifebyeuanhenry1353 Thank you for the reply. I am looking for like a 4 maybe 6 inch carbon extension rod of a monopod. Just to help with view area coverage a bit. Do you think this Headset cap mount can take the load without shredding or possibly pulling the star nut inside the fork??😁😁🙏🙏
thank you for this video. Im about to install my govee lights and i have the same type of ladder. o was concerned climbing that high over the hinge but this gives me confidence itll be okay thanks!!
Great video and thanks for sharing! I’ve been looking for something like this for my aero bars..do you know if your stem cap bolt is the standard 1 1/8? Thanks!
@@teckinmylifebyeuanhenry1353 thanks for quick reply! I have a Canyon Endurace and I believe my stem cap bolt is 1 1/4,so I may not be able to use that mount..not positive but will have to look more in to it..
My one dislike with the mobile aspect of Insta360 devices is that the footage has to be on Quick Reader for access outside of the camera on Apple mobile devices. They do not support any flash drives nor SD card readers. Found that out when I finally decided to use my ipad.
@@teckinmylifebyeuanhenry1353 the quick reader is a $30+ USD accessory to purchase. Which is extra cost if you already have a SD card reader that works on the device already BUT not for Insta360 usage. That decision is a let down for me on a otherwise decent product line.
Good question, I'm honestly not sure, those handlebar have a cover for the top cap so it might be possible but you wouldn't be able to the cover, hope that was helpful
Thanks for the video. I think I'm going to do the same thing. (And I'm sure I'll be able to still see my Garmin. Worst case, I just put the Garmin mount on the other side of the stem.)
Yeah it's a really convenient way to use a 360 action cam, and I agree it's very easy to just temporarily relocate the Garmin because there's really no clamp or device to use with aero handlebars.
I installed mine recently and no matter how hard I tightened, the carbon selfie stick is not secured and still has slack and can move up and down . The knob will also come loose after riding a while even on normal road and not on any trail ride. Do you all see the same thing with your set up?
I have used this on so many occasions with zero issues, I have a video where I ride for around 45 minutes talk about AFib, zero issues I also had my Rode wireless mic attached to my X4 no problems at all
Great video! I’m an X3 user that recently upgraded to the X4 and am pleased with the updates and image quality. Now we wait for the updated 1 Inch! 8k on the 1inch might be a stretch, but anything’s possible!
Nice! I just set up my small Network rack in my basement. I've gone from Apple AirPort Extreme to Eero to Ubiquity Unifi. Each ecosystem had it's own plusses and minuses and were perfect for the time I used them. I can hardly wait to see what the future holds.
You ever think about doing a high quality 2 channel stereo? It's all you need. Spend a grand on quality bookshelf speakers and stands (get them out in the room and away from the wall placement is huge) . a grand on a Yamaha integratesAMP and maybe an external DAC. Another 500 on a sub and u get great sound you won't miss the extra channels of surround. I went back to stereo after 10 yrs with 7 channel sound. Sold it and built a 2.1 setup. Does music perfect and movies just fine. A 2thousand dollar 2channel setup will sound way better than a 2k surround setup guaranteed
@@teckinmylifebyeuanhenry1353 never mind her. Just set money aside and build it slow and carefully when she finally notices you spent your dollars it will be too late for her input on the matter. Lol. Buy her flowers and a bracelet or something.
I performed a factory reset on my UDM-SE console. In doing so, I lost connection to my Protect cameras. The cameras are alerting "Managed by another console'. When I select Adopt, it prompts for a 'recovery code.' I was unaware that a randomized code/password was set during the previous installation of Protect. Backups before the console was factory reset are available. Do the console backups contain configuration files for Protect? The worst-case scenario is I'm forced to grab a ladder and perform a hard reset on each camera, but I'm hoping for a workaround. Anybody with similar experience --??
Make sure you run all Sonos speakers wireless as otherwise it will create a loop in the network. I thank UniFi support for helping me figure that one out. Now you need the 4 bay UNVR. I run 13 cameras about half 2k and 4K. I really like my UniFi home network.
