I am starting my journey opening my own property maintenance gig and to see stuff like this really helps. I see a lot of folks in my area trying to do this and I'll look them up on the div of lic with the state and see they started less than a year ago and now they have their trailers for sale on market place. When say its tough its no joke. You have to know what you are doing or you can damage property. You have to be efficient and systematic. Working with SH all day is not easy either. With that said you constantly have to keep an eye on your gear for errors. Then there is marketing, disputes, non pays, taxes LOL. Yeah aint easy. I'll be doing washing of everything including hot water. You will need that for the restaurant gig. Learn about degreasers and hot water its a must. I'll also be running my bobcat doing this and that and I wont shy away from handy work here and there. Its a lot but it wont all be at the same time and I like to bounce around. Good luck with that gold mine buddy!

Your pump shouldn’t have that red oil non vented plug on it, it should be a yellow vented plug. Probably why your hose is retracting. You’re going to blow that pump if you don’t change it asap.

It was a good video. I think I have the same exact pressure washer pump. I got off of Amazon it just rebranded by another company named VEVOR. I was trying to figure out a way to allow the water to flow through my unloader valve when I release the trigger from my gun. The problem was I couldn't figure out a way to make it work with the existing set up of the pump itself. It also is the 4 GPM 4000 PSI WITH THE 1 INCH SHAFT, SO I ALSO MATCHED IT UP WITH HONDA 390 GX AS WELL WHICH PUTS IT OUT ABOUT THE 13 HP RATING NEEDED IN ORDER TO SPEND THAT PUMP PROPERLY TO MAXIMIZE WATER FLOW AND VOLUME. I think I'm gonna try to set mine up like you did yours except I might make my discharge hose a little bit longer In a coil configuration in order to maximize the amount of cold water that go through mine, but I have to feed mine back into the PRESSURE WASHER somehow because at this point it's just for personal use. Yours works just fine because you're feeding the water right back into your buffer tank so there's no real pressure being built up. You mentioned about your Honda engine was previously Having the RPM surging up and down similar to what's called Governor Hunting in order for the RPMs to level off. It won't actually hurt your pump or anything but yes you are correct thats it's darn annoying that's for sure! Wow your fuel filter could've been a contributing factor to the surging up and down of your engine? The main culprit Contributing factor Causing the unstable idle speed or poor performance at low speed was due to the pilot jet being clogged, pilot screw being clogged or most common is the pilot jet path is clogged. This is mainly due to the ethanol that's been added to our gasoline, which tends to not be troublesome for automobiles whatsoever, but can wreak havoc on carburetters that were never made or intended for use of corn based alcohol, which will clog the pilot jet of any carburetter once the gasoline evaporates, leaving behind the corn syrup which is alcohol. Alcohol being hydroscopic or water loving, pulls the water or moisture from the atmosphere, causing the carburetter to rust from the inside out and blocking any passageways while doing so such as the pilot jet screw which metres airflow. This is the reason why when you put on a new carburetter that the problem was solved, not so much to do with the fuel filter. a product I use is called ethanol shield. This product doesn't get rid of the ethanol, but rather shields the vital pieces of the carburetter from the ethanol by conditioning and coding the O-rings and gaskets etc. within the carburetter to keep it from getting petrified from the petroleum, a.k.a. gasoline With ethanol in it. I've heard, but not confirmed that ESSO 90 MIDGRADE AND SHELL 91 octane rating does not have ethanol in those two blends. be safe just air on the side of caution and buy a small bottle of ethanol shield from Home Depot that treats about 80 gallons from a small nine dollar bottle of ethanol shield. The only other way to filter out The ethanol is by adding some water and food colouring and shaking up the gasoline then letting it sit to settle in the water will go to the bottom along with the ethanol. Adding a small amount of food colouring will show the separation line between the gasoline and the ethanol and then he just syphon it out slowly or just forget all that and buy a bottle of ethanol shield from Home Depot lol. Other than that you're set up looks great and I can't see any problems with it whatsoever. a small modification or recommendation would be if you were able to put in RV filter from your buffer tank to your pressure washer in order to filter out as much of Unwanted contaminants in hard water to minimize residue, left over on windows, siding, cars etc. By removing some of the water hardness will definitely benefit your pressure washer pump & increases lifespan. Another good practice would be every every once in a while to run that pump saver product through the pump and let it sit overnight or the weekend to rejuvenate the O-rings, seals & gaskets within the pump to maintain pump performance. If you do find a lot of water hardness white spots around your pressure, washer pump set up then you could try running some CLR through the pump just a few shots in the intake where the garden hose goes into and then hand crank it slowly to allow the CLR to go through basically the same as the pump saver pull the cord slowly without starting the motor. This will allow the product to sit within the pump, giving adequate time to do its job. I also immediately drained the pressure washer pump after about an hour of usage in order to get rid of any of the break-in Metal shavings or contaminants that might be found in the pump oil. Once it was drained, I filled it up with synthetic pump oil 75w90 in order to increase the lifespan of the pressure washer pump. Keep up the great work. I look forward to seeing update videos of your progress in the near future with regards to your pressure washing rig.

Setting customer expectations is always very important. I'm sorry you had to learn this way but at least now you know your communication will be spot on in the future! Also take the chance when communicating these other problems (Oxidation, rust, oil, wood) as an opportunity for an upsell. "Well for an additional X I can get that oxidation and efflorescence off, same with the oil stains in the driveway" and before you know it you upsold him on three or four other different things
@jonesblueline

Yes, I definitely learned that and I was including all that oxidation, And stuff into the original price without even upselling. learning that this is all an upsell was huge for me. You definitely ran through the gamut of potential issues with that job, lol. That being said your head is right in that you need to be able to identify potential issues and set expectations. If as you set those expectations, verbal and in writing, and you still sense that the customer is expecting more from your service then you need to move on. I know it's hard to turn down business especially when you're new but you have to do it. The work you were tasked to do was on a level 9 in terms of difficulty and hopefully those types of jobs aren't the norm in your market

Hey! From Indiana! I had a Craftsman 3200 PSI 2.4 gallon a minute pressure washer (Honda engine GCV200). It was ok. I needed more volume of water. This was the only job I used that machine for. I have since bought a new unit. I picked up a Honda GX390 4000 PSI 4 gallon a minute (this has been a great unit for me). For the solution used. I used 50/50 (water and sodium Hypochlorite) and a little bit of surfactant (soap). The surfactant is the ELemonator brand by Pressure Tek. Let me know what other questions you have.
