Hello and welcome! My name is Rodney Gracia. I am a mixed media artist, mostly watercolor and ink, and travel photographer based in FL, USA.
The goal of this channel is to show you how I paint to soothing music, without narration (plenty of that on YT already). I want to convey how peaceful the process is for me.
I started my watercolor journey in 2022. I have always been interested in painting, but while I had experience with digital art and graphic design, I have been hesitant to even try painting for real my entire career. The pandemic changed the way I think about these things so, I jumped in to see what would happen.
The result has been incredibly healing, transformative and rewarding for me. Here I share my process and approach to loose watercolor and ink art. is your Arches on a block, or mounted in some way? It appears unbendable. As a rank beginner I may not even be asking the question properly. Love the technique - - and the outcome.
No brights! Probably brings out the grief in you. Missed your paintings. As they say hang on ! Keep bringing out those colours. They would definitely help someone forget his grief.
Hang in there, Brother. It's ok to mourn but don't dance with Darkness. He is a thief that will steal _everything_ from you. Keep painting. Your work is amazing, beautiful, and inspiring. 🙏 + ❤
@@RodneyGracia thanks. So, what do you mainly use? Did you use cold press in this one? I heard hot press doesn't flow as well but could be wrong as I am just starting out.
I mainly alternate between Hot Press and Cold Press. When I want texture I go for Cold Press. Hot Press is smoother so it is all about that feel. I think Cold Press is my favorite as I like a lot texture and the paper does all the job in that regard. Rough texture is very textured so I use those just occasionally. Try them all and see what you prefer.
