Well hi there! We're two friends that have always loved laughing and watching movies together. We made this channel to include others along for our discussion, jokes, and overall fun times. We hope you enjoy our reactions and reviews
The flash sideways is their next life where they were rebirthed. Like Jacob's mother said, the light is life, death, and rebirth. The light is a gateway to hell and the next life. And there are clues to previous lives. Refer to episode 4x11 when Richard did the Dali Llama thing with six year old Locke. So the flash sideways shows why the Losties' were brought to the island and what they fought for. To prevent the monster from getting off the island and bringing the world to hell and preventing them from going to the next life. And another thing is Jack was told by Richard that he was dead. This is just because Jack died in a previous life and that's why Jack learns he is dead in the flash sideways. It wasn't because he was a ghost or in purgatory. It was because he died in a previous life. Remember Richard knew about previous lives like he shows with six year old Locke.
Considering spooky season is coming up and you guys are Canadian, have you thought about watching the OG Goosebumps show? I'm not sure if it's something you guys ever saw as kids, but it might make for a fun experience.
I highly recommend Person of Interest. It started soon after Lost and stars Michael Emerson (Ben Linus). It starts very procedural with little bits of world building, but eventually the major plot starts to become much more front and center. This was Jonathan Nolan's show just before Westworld. It has 5 seasons with 22-23 episodes each, except the last season, with 13. It's finale is also great!
Late to this, but I imagine Sam was probably trying to call him Mr. Frodo A. Because there's a trillion hobbits with the same surname, and B. Because Frodo wasn't supposed to be using his actual last name.
Came over from your LOTR series. I really love your guys' commentaries. I feel like so many film channels get so snarky and self-important. Your channel is so laid-back, and the little doodles you include make me laugh. Worth the sub for sure. As a sidenote, I think the Pirates of the Caribbean movies would be a great fit for your catalog, if they weren't already in the works. :)
Thank you so much for checking us out! Our goal at the end of the day was to have fun making the videos so it's nice to hear other people are picking up on that as well. Pirates of the Caribbean is definitely one we've talked about doing so you seem to be on the same wave length as us
i know this is random but can you react to the johnny test episode "johnnyitis"? it could make for a funny reaction. it's only around 11 minutes long so can you try and show the full reaction? if you do something to the video you should be able to avoid copyright :)
Excuse me, "true fans?" How f&$king dare you. I have read every scrap of the Middle-Earth legendarium, Tolkien's published translations, his short stories and the letters that could be found. What make you a true fan and not me? This is why some of you reactors piss me off, your elitist mentality towards those of us that just want to have fun with something we love. There are plenty of problems with Tauriel's inclusion in the story, but other than the few cringe moments I enjoyed here being there, and I agreed we needed more female rep in this world. And so did Tolkien, all his works that were publisjed after the Hobbit and the trillogy had loads of very strong female characters, but his publisher wouldnt include it. Arewen had a bigger role in the original draft. The Silmirlion and other first age tales have loads of amazing women in it, but we didnt get that cause of the mentality of the time the books were published. So I'm happy we got a female warrior that didnt have to crossdress. And if that doesnt make me a true fan in your eyes, then it sure as h3]] makes you and elitist in mine.
I first watched "Mako Mermaids" before H2O. I think I first watched Mako after seeing 'Merlin'. I like H2O better, and even liked a few of the animated series. One animated episode where the girl puts her finger into a glass of water to prove she is not a mermaid was a great idea, that I wish they would have used in the original show. She simply made the water bend around her finger, and it looked like she touched the water. Most of the full episodes of the shows are here on RU-vid, along with the behind the scenes footage on their official channels.
I began watching "Merlin" after finishing "Supergirl", Lena Luthor actress, here plays Morgana. I knew a little about Morgana other than the "Castelo Ra-Tim-Bum" version, that talks to crows and snakes, explaining history and fairytales. I almost didn't watch the rest of Merlin because of the beheading in this first episode. I didn't want to watch a show where it would have this type thing every episode. Strangely the Netflix show "One Piece" starts a similar way, and has a similar type of humor, and action scenes.
That's fair if it wasn't the style you were looking for originally, but it seems to have worked out. Very interesting connection to make between the two, never thought of that before
If you like silly spoof parody movies you might like "Transylvania Twist". Nearly every minute is a reference to other movies, or TV shows. It's one of those I'm still going through and watching films it references, then rewatching it. Things like the Hellraiser character Pinhead walking out of an acupuncture and saying "I don't care what anyone says. {points to head} This hurts." Like Monty Python, once someone is said to be dead, don't be surprised if they 'get better'. I also enjoy the silly songs, and the synth-organ music similar to the Castlevania games.

I love this movie, and this was prime Tim Burton making classic after classic. I have to admit that the central portion of the movie does tend to lag behind and get a little bit slow for me, but it is still watchable. Geena Davis and Winona Ryder are super special in this one and of course Michael Keaton is great probably my favorite performance by him.
I went to school with Katie McGrath and while I'd sort of been vaguely aware she'd gone into acting the last time I ran into her (2007 or so) it was still completely surreal to see her on television on a show with fecking Giles from 'Buffy'. I think this is the only series where she uses her real accent, mostly she plays Americans or Brits.
@@pineappleandlemon Yes, though it was traumatizing watching her being eaten by a Mosasaurus in 'Jurassic World'. 😄It is also weird to see her play a lot of icy aloof British brunette roles when she was friendly, jokey and rocked a bit of a punk look in school (in so much as such a thing is possible in Ireland.)
Hello. New British subscriber here. Really enjoyed this review on Merlin. One show from the early 2000’s that I would recommend to you is ‘Veronica Mars’. A teen noir mystery drama, with a great storyline, fantastic writing and a breakout performance from Kristen Bell
I really liked this series. I knew nothing about it other than it had the young woman from Wednesday. She is really doing great so far. I think this has been a very popular series on netflix here in America so I am hopeful it will get picked up for the next book. Have a wonderful day and take care!
Ouch! A lot of Tara hate in this. I wish you'd warned us going in. You know, everyone's entitled to their own thoughts and feelings about a character, of course - but Tara did mean and still means a lot to a lot of people. So, maybe there wasn't a need to be so rude about her here ^^
Loved the video! I'm not sure if you take suggestions or not, but if you do, may I suggest Lockwood and Co? It's this tv show about these kids who fight ghosts in London.
First time seeing any of your videos but I really enjoyed this! Made me relive the joy of Merlin. To my fellow Merlin fan… have you had the pleasure of enjoying Season 6?? It exists as a professional script and has around 13 fully developed episodes with an accompanying soundtrack- it’s amazing! A RU-vidr called Balencian turned it into an audiobook with sound effects and the soundtrack and I highly highly recommend 🫶🏼
I've never seen a Wes Anderson film I didn't love, but my favourites would probably be this, French Dispatch, Grand Budapest Hotel, Fantastic Mister Fox and Royal Tenenbaums.
As some one who saw this as a kid and has never read the books or seen any of the other adaptations: I don't know what they're talking about. This movie is awesome! 10 year old me will die on this hill.
@pineappleandlemon The Boys Diabolical is worth the watch. They have an episode that's canon to the comics called "I Am Your Pusher" and three canon to the show, which is "Nubian vs. Nubian."John and Sun Hee" and "One Plus One Equals Two" The one episode that wasn't for me, though, was "BFFs," which is just terrible unless you like Awkwafina's humor. Definitely reccomend the others though.
Every Bond flick has an element of sci-fi - THAT is NOT something that started with THIS one. THIS isn't even the first to involve SPACE for that matter - it was done previously in one called You Only Live Twice. And why is just ANY flick that happens to involve SPACE charged with being a frigging Star Wars "rip off"?
Oh gosh I absolutely loved this show, really happy to see you have a look at it and would be really excited to see you cover the rest of it aswell if you're interested
So glad to hear people have loved it! I was definitely a fan of the books so seeing it visually has been a treat (I've kept watching!) . Hopefully we can talk about it some more, or maybe do a podcast episode on it if Christina keeps watching as well
Loved your reactions and will go back to the podcast soon. I saw your video because I followed a reactions channel for the series but your input was super chill. I am a huge fan of the movie and the utter shock of the direction they took just two episodes in got to me for sure. I have to rewatch everything again now. I have not done the comic yet [some how :(] but that’s my summer project for sure. New subscriber here for sure.
Thanks for taking the time to check us out! I think we were all thrown off by the initial direction of the show, but I'm hoping to do a rewatch again too. Have fun reading the comics, they help to flesh out the world
I actually watched the first season and loved it, but didn't love how they didn't promote seasons 2 and 3. 🙃 I completely forgot about the show until now 😂
@@pineappleandlemon Oh wow! Nobody (on my RU-vid feed anyway) talked about it when it came out, it seemed. Thanks for the reply. Maybe add it to the watchlist for a rainy day.
Another thing that makes this movie great, is the jokes per minute delivered. If one joke is not that funny there's no time to dwell on it, you'll be laughing to the next one in no time.
I have never heard of the movie or the series before, so I will give it a try, but I must say if this series is mostly mushy it will probably be a slogh for me. I can do rom-coms for an hour or two but if it goes any further oh boyyyyy. Thank you though for the recommendation. I will try it if I can find it here. BY the way really enjoying the podcast.
It's definitely not for everyone but I think they did a really good job adapting the book for the TV show. I'm always interested in comparing and contrasting shows to books to movies as well so this was a new one for me initially. Thanks for checking out the podcast! We're able to get a lot of our thoughts out on it and have a nice time chatting
