Hey hey, my name is Billy and this channel represents a journal. A journal about my experience, nostalgia, or thoughts about video games. I hope you are able to enjoy your stay and possibly stay a little while longer. 🤝
ORAS is slowly starting to feel vintage, and that is crazy. Time is flying. New Pokemon games are SO different than the 3DS style of art. ORAS is still just pixelated enough for me that I prefer it to the Switch games largely. I think I'm going to stock up on ORAS and X Y copies sealed while they're still cheap, because literally every single game before them is now $200+ at the minimum sealed, and these games are still under $100. Won't be like that for long.
EV training with horde, leveling up with secret base Blissey. Infinite loop in front of daycare. Every single legendary obtainable and can be reset for IV. The BEST online experience in pokemon ever. Sick post game infinite fight place. This is the only game I play long after I was done with the story and was the only time I was seriously into competitive pokemon. I love ORAS so dearly but pokemon home have deleted all my mon from that time.
In 2007 I bought a gba sp/emerald bundle because my hometown caught on fire and we had to evacuate. My mom felt bad I had to leave everything at home and was so bored all day, so we went to Walmart and walked around looking for stuff. While walking out of the store with nothing in hand we walked past the game isle and the sp emerald combo was the only thing on the rack. Right on the edge next to the walkway. I asked “can I have this?” Without even knowing what it was just seeing Pokémon and knowing it from the TV show.
Was also of the first Pokémon games I put countless hours in. Mostly because of my parents separation and due to the fact I would forget to save lolol…I got to master mode of the Pokémon contests before the elite four and maxed out all stats on that challenge mini game.
Oras came out that long ago, yet I’m just now doing my first playthru..I’ve been playing first 3 gens for last 20 years 😅. You can’t beat the nostalgia, but all the newer features are amazing!
People that complain about xp share in this gen just want to complain really. There is no skill in training each Pokémon individually. why spending time grinding when you can actually just play the game. You can actually turn it on and off at will which is really refreshing. Ill keep it on until my team is a level under the next gym and then I turn it off. Its so much better not having to grind
@@TheETRAiN1111 I agree for sure. I don't see it as a skill issue or anything but more just spending more time with your team 😄 but for sure if I was just playing normally, I would just use XP share LMAO
OG sapphire was my first ever pokemon game. As someone who fell out of love with the series after Heart Gold/Soul Silver I'm excited to come back and experience this
I remember being 9 years old when this came out, my third pokemon game, i remember showing my mom every pokemon i would caught on my 3ds such a good time i loved every moment of it i remember sometimes leting my nintendo fall and the game would crash and restart i also remember when for som reason the game just died it stop working my nintendo cannot read it anymore sometimes it can but when i try to go inside the game it would say game crash blah blah
this is the story of my life but only im older and first game was x and y and instead of being a kid watching kida play ruby and saphire back then i saw kids play red and blue xD lol i never even had that game as a kid my parents said it cost more then my game boy cost so they will never buy me it its a scam from the chinese LMFAO
Had me til you said that battles need more gimmicks to spice them up. Honestly, as someone who's been playing since 2008, that's the last thing it needs. They've expanded battling through the expansion of moves, and with things like Megas, Z Moves, and now Teras. After almost 30 years of keeping battling largely unchanged, changing it would be shooting themselves in the foot. I think the only reasonable change fans would widely accept would be a 5th move slot. But even then, you'd have tons of fans upset with it. The only thing they can truly do to make it less "grindy" feeling to battle, is speed them up, or like in S/V have the overworld autobattle feature. If battles had a more real time pace, they'd be way better, but the amount of downtime between turns or waiting for the camera to finish panning before your move goes, or all the unnecessary loading times during battles.
@@tswanny86 hey thanks for dropping by! I understand where you're coming from but I think I may have come off the wrong way. The Megas were cool but a little mindless, and I think that is something that can approved by most of the community. However, even though it was cool and seeing new forms were cool, I think a different type of alternative to it would be nice. Dynamax and Tera aren't really my thing but I do appreciate the inclusion, just something else and waiting to see what Gamefreak does next. 😎👍
Oras is great but it doesn't match HeartGold SoulSilvers legendary status Also currently playing Omega training pokemon for Battle Maison lol and still looking for the elusive substitute tm, Just finished HeartGold playthru I'm in Kanto for them badges!
@@LivncA_Dis3 I'm also in Kanto atm and the level curve throughout the whole game is atrocious, I feel like. Definitely a factor for me liking ORAS more
@@LivncA_Dis3 yeah honestly it's the only Pokemon game where you're like 5-8 levels (maybe besides platinum) below like half of the game and still do well. I also need to grind. Debating if I want a new team for Kanto or not haha
99% of the people who clicked on this video have already played the original game, so explaining it instead of the differences made me immediately click away from your video. I’d consider your audience before you make a video, or advertise it better to you content.
@@Darki16724 SHEESH props man, Sceptile will always be my number 1 as well. I have reflected on the game a bit more since I am playing other Pokemon games for the channel and I think I should have raised it to a B+ tbh.
@@b1bbly but there is a problem with the game since it is so old I once got a shiny mew two from someone It's still in my pokedex but on none of my games, I searched everywhere I heard because it is so old sometimes pokemon just vanish from the save file... 😭
@@Darki16724 ah that sucks man. Not too sure why but others also had the same issue. Could be some sort of sequence break if you triggered a certain cutscene or action, or I see people reporting RTC issues but honestly I have no clue
