Shibby Pictures is the production company of filmmaker Jak Kerley. It’s the gritty, confused style of filmmaking that no film festival is interested in hosting. Shibby Pictures maintains a strong DIY ethic. Having a DIY ethic means that we are able to produce a quality production with little-to-no budget, crew, or other resources.
For years, Jak has immersed himself in the DIY music scene, shooting music videos for bands like Leftöver Crack, Days N Daze, Jeffrey Lewis, and dozens more. He is also known for his widely-viewed documentary on DIY culture, “Trying It At Home” that was released in 2014. In addition to all of this, he has shot 3 feature-length films and plenty of short films.
In 2018, the short documentary “Baseball Punx” was released to heavy media attention, including a feature article on ESPN. Documenting the connection between baseball and punk rock, it features members of bands like Bomb the Music Industry!, PUP, Ramshackle Glory, and Pulley.
This was my ex boyfriend favourite song, at least, when I last spoke to him. We broke up almost four years ago, and our lives took different paths. Also, we weren’t on good terms. But today, after three days of disappearing police found him: he had a car accident, and passed away. He always felt different and out of place; I don’t know if that changed during the time we didn’t speak. He had depression, and tried more than once to take his life. I don’t know if he started to feel better, but it doesn’t matter: it’s still sad and unfair to see him go. So long, friend. I can call you that after what we shared. @@ShibbyPictures I'm not hating, I love the music. I'm asking because I was talking to a coworker about music and mentioned Days N Daze and she said "Ugh I can't stand them, they're just some rich people pretending to be poor" so I figured I'd ask. 🤷
You know. You always hear people say shit like "everything happens for a reason." or "everyone is going through it, you're not alone". and really well a truly, fuck that. Shit doesn't just work out and just because people are going through 'it' doesn't make 'it' any better.

I really wish i got to grow up in the cities and experienced that sort of fun life. Suburbs were so boring and strict with rules. If you were different in anyway, you were shunned by everyone and consider bad/despicable and not to be associated with. And if you did anything wrong, it was the harshest consequences with absolutely zero understanding. If you were caught smoking cigarettes as a teen, you might as well had been caught shooting meth while jerking in public lol. No one was allowed to be a teenager or have fun.
Found these guys through a hole in the wall late night show in my town while they were playing as Eacape the Zoo. Incredible show, never seen a turnout like that before or since at that venue. Amazing performance, crowd work and vibe. Since then I've become a huge fan of the earlier work and the modern. Y'all are incredible performers, artists and writers 👏👏👏
