I have been making bread by hand for over 50 years. Now, I have arthritis in my wrists, making kneading painful. I am surprised how few reviewers and commenters give this as a reason for using an Ankarsrum to replace the pain of hand mixing and kneading.
You really didn’t allow your viewers to listen as to how loud it can get while the classic grain mill is turned on and milling. But, I do appreciate the demo ❤
I accidentally left the hopper extension ring inside the bowl while milling my first two cups 😑 the instructions are pretty adamant about *not* doing this but I didn't realize it was in the bowl the whole time. Is this going to cause any issues?
I sold my Bosch and bought a used ankarsrum mixer a few months ago. I have to say, I think I prefer the Bosch for whole grain sourdough. Whole grain sourdough does best if it is mixed very lightly and then you do the stretch and folds. I cannot get all the wet and dry ingredients Incorporated unless I mix for a very long time with the ankarsrum roller. This in turn causes me to get a tighter crumb and not nice air holes.
Hey! Thanks for sharing your experience! I’ve never heard anyone say that. I am able to get really nice sourdough loaves with my Ank. But I’m glad you discovered what works best for you! 💛
I think I might order the dough hook and see if it does better with that. I do appreciate the quality and mechanics of the machine. It's definitely very heavy duty. I also am doing five or six loaves at a time so maybe that is part of the issue
This is great, thank you! I love my Ankarsrum. It was an investment but so worth it. It’s made bread making fun and easy to make lots of loaves at once.
Immediate subscriber here thank you so much for this video by explaining how this operates and not just "showing" and playing music in the background. Visual learner I could not figure out for the life of me what that ring was for.
help! my ewe was confirmed to have twins- she has dropped one of the lambs, but 2 hrs later she has not dropped the other one, and she won't let the first one nurse on her. Is that cuz she wants to drop the other one first? and how long can it wait to be able to feed?
@@GenerationAcresFarm thank you; the odd thing is that the "other lamb" was never born, and an ultrasound and x-ray couldn't find it in her! that was a mystery!
Wow! Thank you so much for sharing this-it was so timely for me, as my ewe is expecting her first twins any day now, and now I feel so much more prepared. So terrible that you couldn't get help when you needed it, but it also sounds like God came through for you.
The first grains going through clean the machine of debris left from manufacturing. Nothing we'd like to eat, but would be fine for chickens. You could dump into a compost pile or around plants.
I saw this video a couple weeks ago. And I’m about to swap out the eggs that ended up being duds with 1 week old chicks. How old were the one you put in with your hen?
@@GenerationAcresFarm just a update, their about a month old now and it worked. She started tucking them under her and they imprinted on her. I wish I could post pictures here, they’re getting big but they still all sleep with each other so I built them a bigger nesting box so they could all sleep together.
