That's true that it's not better in "nature" or an "alien environment" *but acknoledging that it's worse life doesn't justify the torture of breeding them and exploiting torturously for their hair!!!*
This is FUCKING horrible. Are we living in a fucking nightmare?? This guy is just saying this as if there was no problem about it? Has he lost his fucking EMPATHY?
By the way, using a guy who kills for a living as a source? Not very credible, you really think they would openly admit how immoral the process is? There's no way to humanely kill an individual when they don't want to die, especially for something you can live without. The definition of "humane" to an animal farmer is "How effectively can I kill this animal without it being considered too graphic for my consumers to the point that they want to take action against me legally or illegally? Hmm".
Considering that you're capturing a wild animal with the intention to kill them for a product you have no necessity for outside of financial gain, I'd say yes.
I don’t know if you still walk this earth. If your sons have your business. They’re calm and quiet?! Are you fucking kidding! Content. Really!? Exciting watching an animal butchered for their pelt? They are not free. They are not living the life God intended. Farmed animals? You’re a Godless demented man. You’re so old in this interview, I imagine e maybe you’re dead and realizing the depth of your dirty deeds.
I'm an animal lover too and have a lot of issues with the pet industry specifically, some CAFOs and pretty much anything outside North America. But mink farming in North America couldn't be better. If anything, they are a standard that should be sought by everyone else in animal industries. Ethical ranching like this is not only morally beyond reproach and makes great fur, but its also a great marketing platform. I like knowing that my fur came from animals given a pampered life. My hat has probably had an easier life than me lol.
I was glad to see the cage standards upgraded some time ago; they are so much better now. Not only is the sanitation better all around also, but its incredible how well these creatures are fed. They would never feast so well in the wild.
He left out a lot. Is it morally acceptable to let a species reach pest numbers and forcing them into harder competition for food? This isnt just ranching, this is ethical ranching and these animals eat like kings with the definition of a pampered life. Fur is a celebration of the animals we have depended on for our survival with both pride and humility. How is it more morally acceptable to let it die of violent predation, weakness of age or starvation than to let it begin life in care and shelter with medical supervision while being pampered daily with nutritious food custom made for it at every stage of life and be celebrated after medically approved euthanasia, itself centered on being swift and humane?
The standards shown here could not possibly be any better. It just doesn't make any sense to confuse this with bad actors. We are blessed to have this in the US.
Idk I think having a large number of these animals that can pose such a risk to an ecosystem should not be legal at all. Also these mink definitely do have their instincts intact and will survive. There are places where they are invasive due to escapes from mink farms.
Hi Zak, drop us a line at info@truthaboutfur.com and we'll see if we can find out where that knife came from. As for how fur holds up in the rain, it really depends on the type of fur. At one extreme, you don't really want to get chinchilla wet. At the other extreme, the fur of hair seals has been called "nature's raincoat". How so? That's exactly how all farmed mink are killed. Maybe you're getting confused with farmed fox? Or do you mean the part about skinning alive? Again, he speaks the absolute truth. Farmed mink are never, ever skinned alive.
SHAME ON YOU, AN8MALS ARE NOT MEANT TO BE BORN AND DIES IN THE SAME CAGE. YOU NEED TO STOP 🛑. SHAME ON PEOPLE BUYING MINKS FUR. SHAME ON YOU. HOPE YOUR LOVE ONE WILLNO LIVE THE SAME WAY MINKS LIVE IN THIER. ENTIRE LIFE
Do you think that's advisable? There are currently no farmed mink kits in BC, since the ban on breeding is already in effect. But you can buy one from elsewhere. For kids though? Die-hard ferret owners say mink can be tamed, but it sounds like the dedication of a determined adult is needed. How about a ferret instead?
@@Truthaboutfur If mink is not available at Fraser Valley like Abbortsfort, Ferret is a good option. Did Ferret a good hunter for rodents ? Since 2016 the increasing rodents settled down followed by new population moved in , provided the local owl population is going down, you can see the trend. As long as they are good rodent hunters, and is feasible for in-house pet besides dog and cat. Do you have any baby ferret for sale ?
@@dchan5251 We're not in the business of selling ferrets, but I guess they're available in BC. A friend in Ontario keeps pet ferrets, so they're certainly not banned. It's time for some research. This will get you started: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferret
That’s NOT what happens. I lived near a minkfarm as a kid. Two hung around, one had babies. They are very interesting animals. Our female would go for walks with my family. It took the male a couple of years but it warmed up to us. Such athletic animals once they get rid of the fat from the farm. They’d catch fish three times their size. This guy is full of shit! Still see them or their babies…
Two thrived by my house after being liberated. Even had one litter of kits ( babies). One we called Mink would follow us on our nightly walks. The male has always been a bit more nervous. But he was fat and now is a big muscular boy who loves to fish in the creek.
Animals are tortured and die excruciatingly painful deaths. No animal should ever have to suffer like this for fashion. Wear your own fn skin .you are so vain that you don't think of the little animals whose lives you are responsible for murdering. Rot in hell vain b*tch
@@Truthaboutfur you never had one bite through an old pair? I know with conventional farm animals, equipment isn't worn out until it's WELL worn out. I know of a guy who had a mink get loose, and it got ahold of his face when he tried to catch it. The scars it left look like someone beat him with a saw chain
Better than skinning them alive like some others do but still, feck off. Fur isn't even a necessity like meat is, which is the only valid argument the meat industry has for existing.
whenshe said she was a designer and was talking about her designs i was thinking to myself she aint got nothing on Zuki ....then she was introducing him right after ! lol
@@Truthaboutfur I went back recently(downtown montreal fur hub..mayor st catherine area) looking for a fur knife ...I learned CID passed away about a year or 2 ago...he was the sewing machine repair guy... whoever is still working has moved their shops to the chabanel area... it was a great era... I worked in the industry for many years
Mink a re BEAUTIFUL animals, and don't deserve an horrific life in wire floored cages. Despite all the rubbish you hear too, they make fabulous loving pets too, if handreared from very young.
To be honest, just about any mammal can become a loving pet if you start young enough. Most people who have tried mink just say they're a lot harder to keep as pets than ferrets.
