Sloppy poor modding, bad rookie tuning and general poor care by youtubers clamoring to get their "first" is what did these engines in. My integra runs perfectly because i respect the vehicle.
this integra owner and motor was owned by an older driver not street racing, not seeking to be “the first” or the fastest adult on the streets. The tuner could be the issue but the tuner is a well known tuner that typically is conservative not seeking the “highest” number. It could have been a bad apple engine , could have been tuner, maybe the driver himself but sucks to see a motor with low mileage fail. There is enough data here in socal that validates conclusion about these motors after a tune. I strongly believe honda did great at stock power numbers and made it reliable.
Albert the owner of the car mention there is no drone, and he would be the first to complain as his focus was to have none. He is running a bigger turbo and downpipe which typically causes drone. SS exhaust is available to order and be shipped today.
Great engine in stock form. Stop overpowering stock internals and then blaming Honda for making weak engines. Either fully build the engine, do a K20 swap, or buy the type R from the beginning. If you wanted 300-400 hp or more, you bought the wrong car. Not Honda's fault at all
glad it helped, not as complicated as I thought for being a new car and i’m no where to being an installer. Yes these came painted OEM RR from honda. So pretty neat don’t have to be more money to paint.
By any chance when you installed the cables and shifter was the shifter a little weaker to go to the center when you would take it out from 5th or 6th gear? My shifter goes well to the center when i take it out from 1st to 4th gear but a little weaker when taking it out of 5th or 6th. I hope my question makes sense lol.
Thanks for the video. Did you guys remove the rear shocks to cut the bump stops? I've read a lot that the rear looks lower with Spoon springs. That's too bad because I want that balance of street and track (I only do a few track days per year). I don't want a big drop so the Spoon 20mm is nice.
hello, no we did not, in the near end of video we show the process. With the wheel off and you follow the shock upwards, there is a rubber/plastic dust cover. After loosening the cover, you can move it upwards and see the bumps which you can cut it from there. Do not do the extra work of removing the shock.
maybe it can be with our mods, highest we saw was 580whp, with still able to go higher but we toned it down to 470 for time attack. We are looking for overall power across the rpm’s instead of high end peak power.
an exhaust will just offer noise, it’s not really an impact till after 500/550hp. the easiest way to get there is e85, downpipe and a custom tune for an fl5. for a fk8, we need e85, tune, downpipe, intercooler, charge pipes, inlet pipe, intake will get you around 390ish. a manifold another 10-15hp. turbo will get you to 420, but until you add fuel system u can’t really past that 420 number. hope this helps
