Hey wasup guys its PK, today we kick it with a new owner of an FL5 with the new Hondata tune, it was awesome to know he previously owned an fk8 allowing us to talk the difference between the fk8 and fl5. The fl5 has a drastic change but that also includes improved stability, creature comforts, and now to know tuning abilities.
Thank you again to @the_wrapmachine for allowing us to get a ride along, as we both offer our first impression with the hondata base map with popping tunes.
Note you can disable the pops so not only the entire time, as well going to comfort mode will disable this. Can't wait for more option and what tuners can find with this.

Yes you can with Hondata also, it offers very similar burples. Same procedure if it’s an fl5 or its

Did you just come out of Hondata’s Jailbreak Tour? Thinking about taking my FL5 soon…What’s the process like? Do they Flash your ECU to their OTS Map at the Tour as part of the Jailbreak service? Is their OTS Map generally safer for the FL5 compared to others like powermetric’s, phearable’s, etc? Just concerned about smog test, mechanical damage, etc.

Thanks for the view, Yea you rsvp to be part of the jail break, they do everything for you on the spot including the tune onto your car, you can either have the pops or not just let Javier or Juan know when they do it. It is much safer than those ots tunes they mention, but of course those tunes offer more power. I. Currently have the Powermetric tune on my fk8 since 2021 and no issues 🙏

I just bought a fl5. So i new to this. I want to tune. Do you need a dyno to put it in. To jail break the ecu. Do you have to send it in to hondadata.

Hey man, welcome to the R club! Appreciate the view and subscription, in short you do not need a dyno, only reason need a dyno is if doing a custom tune which u don’t need. Yes, currently you need to ship out your ecu to Hondata so they can jailbreak and modify and than they ship it back, you can request and utilize the base tunes /software that is already in the system. Hondata offers many tunes in there hardware and consider multiple options considering intake, downpipe and exhaust parts. Most do the base tune it has, if you plan to go bigger turbo, fuel system, or e85 definitely recommend a custom tune from a tuner.
