Had to replace my p.o.s. Parker Brand which only lasted just over two years. Did a bit of searching and saw the Hyundai 5 in 1. So decided to pull the trigger. When I got it, tried to put the strimmer pole into the unit, unlike yours, mine didn’t slot in. Tried the extension pole, didn’t fit! Managed to get another half way in and got it working of sorts.. was not happy! After a week of emails to the company accompanied with pics and video’s, following their instructions and RU-vid channel, tried it again and it was pants! I’ve sent it back without using it in anger! Instead of just sending a new one (once tested) and collecting the crap one, no.. three weeks and my hedges and grass and trees are still growing and I have nothing to control it. Multi tools are good, my old one had the polesaw and it was a good craic but, I am tool less….. still 😡
Spent 20 mins after opening pulling the chord, twisting the spline et al.. I put it all back in the box and taped it up ready to send back. After this email ping pong, I went and opened it again, tried to do all the alignment again but no! It’s gone back now! They said they will try and repair it 😂 how I don’t know
Real men don’t need the instructions… oh wait this could just be a little dangerous,Follow the directions! And a little tip when you are cutting your planks, have a few wedges ready to help support the end you have started ripping from to lessen the pinch on the chainsaw, also stack your planks on a flat surface with “stickers” between them to dry! This will allow air to circulate between boards and help stop warping! Let air dry for 2-3 months then flip and re-stack the boards pulling the inner most to the outside & the driest edge to be placed to the inside of the stack. Happy milling!
How much do you use it ? I'm cutting hedges today (and most days ATM) probably 300 metres of beech both sides , tried battery powered Stihl stuff but 2 back in the shop for warranty work , one for the 5th time, wouldn't mind but I've invested about £1000 in batteries alone , but I'm only trying to make a living out of it 😎(the coil will go on the hs45) 👍@@WoolysWorld
Actually looking at purchasing this jacket. I know it was 108% plus today. Yet we also drop into some quite colder temps as well. Life in las Vegas.I I love Carhartt brand. I had one for over 20 years. Loved it. If I purchased this jacket at 58 years of age I can guarantee this will be the last cold weather jacket I buy in my lifetime.
Idk why, but the idea of doing this as a workout and a way to release some stress popped into my brain. So this is how I landed here. Thank you! New sub.
I usually tell customers to bring one of these in for service when the oil has darkened to a brown colour, or if its been topped up a few times. And thats the other thing with these engines, they are well able to burn oil and need to be topped up regularly. Like you said, the oil capacity is small so they fry it up in no time. Great video btw, not too many people have made reviews on these
@@WoolysWorld probably a bigger carb and if you have the know-how, port it(enlarge the intake and exhaust ports a little). There arent any performance parts available for these engines as theyre so small. You could try a different exhaust or gutting the current one but be careful as itll run hotter and burn up the exhaust valve. Like 2 strokes, a 4 stroke needs a bit of back pressure. Other than that there isnt much you can do. You could however try make a frankenstein of a machine and put a gx100 on there but it would require a lot of work and i do mean a lot. They have a gx57 available aswell which is in the same engine family as what you have. And should get you a little bit more power. Theres only so much you can do to these engines to modify them for power. Gimme a few mins and ill see if theres anything power-related for these online. Last time i checked there was very little
@@WoolysWorld nope, nothing there besides a different exhaust and carb for those who use them on motorised bikes which would render your machine almost unusable. Theyre mainly aesthetic parts and the carb is a gravity feed type-not good on a strimmer
I promise you Wooly, use that tool for too long and your knuckles will be scraping along the floor on your way home. Great and truly useful bit of kit, but as soon as you lift it off the harness it becomes so bloody heavy...
I run a Stihl HR131 with the 1m extension and the hedgetrimmer head. It's a monster. But really heavy when the full rig is cutting on the flat. I'm well over 6ft and 20stone but I know I've used it for days after. I have used other brands down the years and you know what?.. when the blades are sharp they all cut as well as each other. I only chose Stihl in the end for the after service and it's longevity. Always interested in others experience of other brands though.
You need a A frame tripod ladder. All the feet are adjustable, do they can be used on banks, ditches etc. I use my long reach hedge trimmer from it. Gives you a greater height and is safe, as long as you are aware you are up it. ( don’t stand back and admire your work, if you are😉).
@@WoolysWorld well, unfortunately you can’t blame my governor (Phil Murphy) for last year’s stone washing!😂😂😂😂 * Murphy’s Law… anything and everything that could possibly go wrong, will ; and sometimes with vengeance!😂😂😂😂
Great video and thanks for all your entertainment. I have one of these and I’m not convinced enough chain oil gets on the bar. It’s gravity fed and on mine you have to Truro it upside down to get the oil to get on the bar. What’s your thoughts?
So you were milling behind our backs again, even doing it as a live feed, but now at such an early time!… What are you trying to do to us! Make us mental😂😂😂😂
@@WoolysWorld I am really bad at that sir. I don’t replace spark plugs and all that very often. I do of course take care of the air cleaner and try to hit grease zones. 😉
I've actually done a bit of logging with a larger tool handed Milwaukee tool, that I carried into the bush with me at a stage. Go with the small engined Husky's I reckon, if one doesn't want to experience severe vibration effects. Yeah, a recip can do a lot more in green timber than you'd think. But that's the problem, it does work. Except when you understand over time why chains and bars exist (we'd not be able to open our fingers very quickly if we went into thd bush with carpentry tools). On that topic the 550 Husky has got power, it takes wider gauge chain as standard procedure. But the 550 transmits a fraction of vibration to one's hands compared to recip saws. Ditto with the Husky brush cutter implements. I run some other tools in strimmer tool category acquired recently, which frankly I don't think are as safe when considering vibration (but are more economical and sold to the occassional user at garden centers). The give-away with a cheaper strimmer, and with recip saws, even the best of them is the trigger vibration. Where you're compelled to keep an index finger on a trigger that transmits too much mechanical vibration. It's no good.
The point I'm making is that the T540, the 435 or 550 Husky and all associated chains, bars and all of that nano Oregon stuff. None of that became attractive to me though, until my curiosity was first raised by using a recip saw for green timber (and I realized quickly that green timber and recip saws were just too onerous to do, owing to the vibration of the tool). The trigger finger being the big weakness with them.
Speedcut nano, I see it mentioned earlier in an episode. I think I have a 16 inch Oregon bar on the top handled tool right now, I switched out the 14 inch for an extra bit of length. I picked up a 435 and started to learn to work with .050 gauge too. I think it was on looking at that saw feature in these Armagh wood cutting episodes.
What I like about the channel is that looking at these tools, the 435 or the 525 etc. Tools which frankly do not get huge exposure. Having had the tools to work with for a while, it's total changed how I approach the general pre-falling area prep and post-fall tidy up. Especially the 435 kind of tool (which I use a lot for tidy up). As the 550 even has a bit too much weight and power running .058 gauge .325 chain, for basic post felling clean up. And tools like the 540 I've got to run at present I've noticed come in to it a huge deal, before the felling get's done. I.e. area tidy up, and pre-fell tree analysis and study. All in all, these tools have their place, and enabled me to work a lot better with the bigger tools.
Looks like a super cool setup at a great price. I am pretty certain Hyundai does not have a presence here in the states in OPE. Thanks for sharing and congratulations 🍾 on the new machine!
I have the same type of setup, except… I have crossed over! Ryobi 40 volt battery pack electric, but for my “postage stamp” sized property it is just fine! I put it up against a stihl fs111, string trimmer, and it held its its own for about an hour before needing another battery, and I am not talking about a small task!
@@WoolysWorld I really wasn’t either, even though I run cordless hand tools constantly, but the size of my property, and the amount of time I spend working with other stuff, it has turned out being a great convenience to just slap a battery in and go, besides now I can weed whack at 5:30 am or 11:00 pm, and nobody will care!😂😂😂😂
