I'm a tour guide based in London, and really love history. I especially love learning a lot of different things and then condensing it all down into interesting videos for you all to enjoy.
Just discovered your very comprehensive, entertaining tour of the City of London. Lots of interesting details, history, and photography included and I was very interested and entertained throughout the tour. I am Canadian and have had the pleasure of visiting London on five separate occasions but as you know, one never tires of London and it’s story, but it’s impossible to see it and learn all about with the occasional visits. Great job!
Noticed all male no female, so who exactly are the deceivers .perhaps not Eve but Adam considering royalty believe they are descendance from king David. Now we have the Adulterers!
Hi Edward! Fellow XJW here. Enjoyed the video. I have been rather obsessed with Dionysos over the past 5 years, curious whether you have found a similar interest in this intriguing divine figure. Have you read/studied the Bakkhai/Bacchae? When I did, I was amazed at the similarities both in plot and in theme, with both the figures of Moses at Thebes confronting Pharaoh who asks "Who is Yahweh?", as well as Jesus confronting Pontius (sounds a lot like Pentheus). Moses initially asking to let the people go out into the wilderness for three days for a celebration/Dionysus followers going out to the wilderness for the same. The scene in Exodus would have taken place at Thebes in Egypt, as well. The more I've delved into Dionysus, the more I'm starting to lean - with many of the ancients - into believing that Dionysus and Yahweh may have been one in the same. Fascinating stuff!
A masterpiece presentation of Egyptian grandeur. Thank you so much. The entire world should mourn the fact that the incredible treasures of other great Pharaoh's were lost to mankind by tomb robbers.
On the subject of wanting young people, it is nothing new, do you not understand why this has been going on so long? Of course it is a bunch of old guys, it goes with the wisdom of age. Come back and tell us what you think in 50 years.
The agreement that the City of London can ‘maintain its ancient liberties and free customs both on land and by water’ is also in clause 13 of Magna Carta.
Crossing the boundaries which separate one's own academic discipline from other "departments" can result in, quite innocent, faux-pas. I find this is especially the case when Historians stray in to the land of the Theologian. Edward, the Immaculate Conception and The Virgin Birth are two entirely separate doctrines and had an approximate time-event-span of 9 months between them. Google it ..... the doctrine is quite interesting, especially the bit about John the Baptist being only one of three people ever born without original sin. Even most Catholics don't know this. Anyway, loved your work on Bosch .... refreshingly laid-back in its presentation, professionally put together, entertaining and informative. May you continue to risk the wrath of pedants :-)
Bravo 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 One of the best blogs I have seen on the History of London. Enjoying very much and sharing with friends. Subscribed and looking forward to seeing more Well done 👏 👍
Just found this one and such a great channel. I been visiting London on regular bases but this was so joyful and informative walking tour. Thanks Happy subscriber 👍
I hate to see their tombs violated. Great care was given for the burials to ensure they had all they needed in the afterlife. Having said that, ruthless grave robbers desecrated many tombs and much was lost due to their greed and ignorance. These magnificent objects, and mummified bodies are well preserved, and cared for with reverence.
Love these blogs where the video follows the narrator as they walk down Piccadilly's famous alleyways and around the Circus! I'd love to be the one taking the picture of this incredible building, with the cathedral in the background, from this perspective! Cool!
Oh you all fount of knowledge, please start your own blog! Some of your pithy comments on RU-vid are hysterical! They deserve a wider audience, don't you think?
Very enjoyable. I lived in London for 2 yrs back in the mid 80s, but like a lot of similar kiwis and Aussies that did that , we were a bit young to appreciate the history, plus we were either at work, on the underground, or in a pub. I know most of the landmarks, but should have walked some more than I did.
It still boggles my mind.... The best find in history. What else compares in terms of the quality, condition, amount and historical significance of the find?
