Why is it that the previous owner would have left everything completely there I mean literally it looks like they just perhaps left the house only recently there's no dust there's no cobwebs none of that.
Naomi, I am so sorry for what happened to you. I appreciated Anton and you! I have been educating myself to see if this would be possible for me to do. Monica
If there's anything valuable, can ya guys sell them for money, some to be spent on renovation and most donated to those anime industries after they're usually in bad shape? Just that they can be untidy and all
I think you can sell a lot of this stuff - kimono might not be worth much but I bet a lot of people around the world would buy them in bulk. Even if they don't sell for much you can give a lot of stuff second life and how long buyers cover shipping costs you can save money on trash disposal. Some with the rest of stuff
I’m very much interested in the kimonos! I’m a upcycle designer in Denver Colorado, USA; and would love to have the opportunity to recycle the kimonos!
I tent to be a future buyer AKIYA HOUSE IN JAPAN, I WATCHED YOUR VIDEOS AND CONSIDERING LEARNINGS JAPANESES LANGUAGE, I am falling in love Japan country itself, currently residing in USA, 35 years and ready to retire with all solitude peaceful country side. I am in the process applying visa to enter Japan here in San Francisco California
How tall are you? It looks like the entry door is either short or you are tall. I think I would have been in a taller door because no matter how many times you go in and out you are going to hit your head occasionally.
I am a bit jealous, what a gorgeous location!!! As for the stuff, check with antique dealers, and collectors, maybe there is some valuable collectors items or antiques, that can help you with he restoration finances. (Like the camera's f.e.)
Just stated watch your videos only thing that sucks it reminds me sometimes about my famicom that got stolen and I can't replace it because I'm to sick to work
Poor salary man was just going about his day, but he's so polite to foreigners that he gave up his precious lunch time to show him his cheap lunch spot.
I wonder what the story was about the previous tenants. I feel super excited for you finding these treasure but a little sad that someone left all this behind. I look forward to seeing how you put your own touch into this.
This makes me sad. The previous owner must have suddenly died or hit hard times if they left ALL their stuff behind. And, if they had family, the family was unable to retrieve anything
Something else popped in my head, a new designer was making bags from old kimonos, maybe you could find someone like her. I feel really nosey because I want to look at the stuff in the drawers and cupboards with you. Looks fascinating! I love that you’re keeping some of the things, I thin the previous owner would be pleased and you’re working through everything respectfully. Of course you’re throwing some things away but you’re not just throwing everything out without even looking 😁
Babies Takuhashi is one of the designers who reuses kimonos 😁 Ps I’m trying to remember the spelling of her name so I could be wrong, but there were loads of them 😁
From watching channels from Japan people do wear them for occasions, maybe a museum would be interested if they’re very old, I know they can be extremely expensive and some people just hire them. I hope they can go to be use by someone, even if they can’t be sold.
It's uncommon, but I heard there's a business that sells hijab made from kimono fabric. There's also another business that gives second chance to old kimono, but I can't remember any of the details 🥲
