I had the 120mm versions of this (DC, not PWM), laying around for years after I built in a fractal case, I put them aside because I thought stock case fans were garbage. Here I am almost four years later seeing that people like these fans, and they are $22+ on Amazon. I think mine top out at 1300rpm and are near completely silent. Doesn't feel like they move too much air though, I have them blowing up at my GPU.

I would say they have 1 good feature. Its from other reviews online. they draw very little power so in specialized circumstance they are ideal like the fan swap in a synology NAS where fans that draw more power just wont work. But yep for general PC uses you hit the nail on the head.
@GaiaGoddessOfTheEarth

These fans seem to have such insane performance. I'll be putting six in the front of my case in a push pull config with an ek quantum surface x360 (there'd be some jank to direct the airflow well) or x420 rad. I have a 50Litre 4u Server case with a 4090 and 7800x3d. All water cooled including ram and I currently have a single 360 rad in the case (hwl black ice nemesis 360 gtx) and a pci passthrough with qdc's for a mora 420. Ideally I want the pc to be able to run entirely independently from the mora with no issue which is why I'll be doing the ek rad since they have low airflow restriction vs other rads and perform really well. Since it's a 4u server case my only option is putting the two rads in line with each other but from the testing I've seen with these fans they're really good for radiators with static pressure and airflow even vs 3000rpm fans. Watched STS's review of them before this video and it's insane how well they perform and how the only fans beating them are a lot louder and a lot higher rpm. These fans are insanely impressive and I can't wait to have them in my system.
@computer-tech-more
@computer-tech-more День назад
That will be quite the set up. I watch STS (fan) reviews as well. I like a number of his tests.
@MajorSpam
@MajorSpam День назад
I expected them to be in the upper 3rd for performance and pretty much overshadowed by either performance or price to performance putting them in that blackhole where they're basically unrecommendable, but I didn't expect them to actually be that average in performance. Anyways, could you test the 140mm Noiseblocker NB e-Loop? They should be decent in static pressure situations.
@computer-tech-more
@computer-tech-more День назад
Ill look into the NB loop 140. I tested but havent release the video yet for the 120. So the NF-P12 is good for like fan swaps in a Synology NAS vs stock fans. Since they have tight power requirements where like the A12x25 just wont work. But ya other than specialized circumstances the Redux isnt really recommended.

Thicc is ther Rank 5 at 100% ooler (Cooler) text is cut off. T30 is ranked 5 as well, Megacool 1, There is a lot of admittedly hard to read text on the raw data screen. Its everything that was used for the graphs just missing the graphs.

@@computer-tech-more I just checked again. Those fans are not in the 4th and 5th charts. I see those fans on the 3rd chart but not 4th and 5th. Also, what are the 4th and 5th charts? They just say "Noise Normalized" and "100%". Of what though? Air speed? CFM? Air pressure? Free air? Through cooler? Through rad? Also, I think you should separate 140 and 120 mm results but that's just personal opinion.

@@Spinelli__ Its because they didnt place in the top 30 in case airflow. So Table 1 is best overall taking an average of all scores. Table2 is bes noise normalized (if they placed in the top 27), Table 3 is best at 100% pwm (if they ranked in the top 26) and tables 4 and 5 are case airflow (if they ranked in the top 30 for that test) so each table is just ranking in that test. and fans that didnt place in that test will not be shown.

@Spinelli__ 2 дня назад
@@computer-tech-more Still doesn't make sense. At 100% fan speed, those fans I mentioned shouldcertainly, easily, be in the top 30. Think about what you're saying. So a P12 non-Max and a Pure Wings 3 120 give better/more case airflow at 100% fan speeds than T30, Megacool 120, Icegale Xtra 120, etc.? Come on, that's Ludacris, man.
@computer-tech-more
@computer-tech-more День назад
@@Spinelli__ Even at high RPM's some fans have such bad airflow patterns that they score low in the case test. If you rewatch the Thicc video it actually does fairly badly in the case test. the Thicc Ranked 112th overall from all fans at 100%. The T30 ranked 27 at 100%, MegaCool 20th at 100%, IceGale Exta 3rd, I then made the decision to just use the same fans from Noise Normalized for the 100% ranking, because most of the time case fans should be running at low RPM's. and to simplify the review. Since most people dont want their PC to sound like a hurricane haha.

The Arctic P12 Max is very weak according to my unscientific hand-feel and paper-fluttering tests. At the same or near-same RPM, the Cooler Master Mobius High Performance OC blows more air, harder, and a further distancer...and the Iceberg Thermal Icegale Xtra, Phanteks T30, and Super Flower Megacool 120 (and possibly the Hyte THICC FP120 - I haven't owned/tested one) completely and utterly obliterate not only the P12 Max but the Mobius HP OC as well. I did testing in free air (least important), pull-intake (Cooler Master HAF 932 side-panel), and on a Hardware Labs GTR radiator which is about 150-200 % the air-restrictiveness of the HW Labs GTX due to a much different design despite both being "16 FPI on paper" . Unlike the GTX, the GTR has a double fin design, different fin thickness, different fin height, louvered fins, and more coolant tubes all within the same size radiator core which effectively makes it something like 24-32 FPI. In all 3 environments (free air, case intake, rad), the P12 Max was easily, easily the weakest in all 3 categories (amount of air, distance, how hard it hits) with both tests "objects" (hand, paper).

Happy to have them ;) also for people looking for advice if you buy them (or have them laying around) and those were also from aio, have in mind this version has different cable not just standard 4-pin pwm but 7-pin (pwm signal and led) to connect with splitter. If you can and know how making new cable is easy but if its to hard just cut some plastic and connect to standard 4-pwm with that method the led dosent work. The Iceberg Thermal Icegale Xtra 120 is a little superior to the Noctua iPPC 120 according to your tests in 100%, non-noise normalised tests but the Noctua is clearly superior in their 140 versions according to your tests. That means, relatively speaking, that either the Icegale 140 is not as good as it's 120 version or the Noctua 140 is better than it's 120 version, or a bit of both. So, in 120 versions of all out performance (no more than 30 mm and no more than 3000-ish RPM), the T30, Super Flower Megacool, and Icegale Xtra are king while the iPPC remains king at 140 unless the Megacool has something to say about that. @@computer-tech-more no offense intended, I may not have seen it because I was mostly watching for unboxing and walkthrough of the board and information on the igpu performance for video encoding and skipped anything else

Excuse me, will the stock fans of PS120 SE Argb (TL-C12B-S V2) work well if I put them under my GPU for intake ?. And your video is very great. 🎉

the TL-B12 is a good performer but not a top performer. Its inline with the toughfan12 in my charts. thank you. :)

Happy to see channels like this. There are a lot of good fans in the market, but sometimes is really difficult to find good reviews, especially for 140mm fans. I'm looking for a 140mm fan to use on the back of my case, but I don't know what to choose. From other tests, it seems that the best choices would be the P14 Max or the RS140 Max ( without considering the budget for the last one ). After seeing your reviews, now I'm curious about the Thermalright TL-B140 Extrem

I have a review set to come out for the regular TL-B14. I would say teh P14max is the best 140 ive tested so far. even considering the regular B14. Ill need to test the TL-B14 extrem.

@@computer-tech-more Nice. For 120mm fans, there is a fan from Bykski Granzon ( GI120 )that seems very good, but there are no reviews on RU-vid. Bykski is a known and good brand in the watercooling sector, so it's strange that there are no reviews

Is there any way I can turn off the rgb in the S12? Can I cut one of the wires or something? Want one to blow up air on my GPU and one as exhaust, but don't want the RGB.. Thank you!

I think in software you can turn it off or (i forget) if you just dont connect the RGB cable and then the RGB wont be on.

What switches do you have on the azoth? They dont sound like the NX Snow so it isn't an apples to apples comparison. My Azoth doesn't sound like that at all with the NX Snow switches.

the azoth uses ROG's tactile switches. I forget its name. I like them a lot. the Scopes were also good for linear in my opinion.

Bought two arctic p14 max fan for my lian li lancool 205m case. Installed these instead of 2x front intake stock lian li 140 mm fans and there was temperature drop 4 celcius on cpu, 5 celcius on GPU in 29 celcius ambient temperature. Also my case has dust filter in front of intake fans. Impressive performance and not so loud. I strongly recommend these fans for your case.
