16:30 Can confirm Boo Biscuits let you tank the damage. I actually thought that was how you were _supposed_ to beat him and was shocked to see that everyone else just attacked it lol
I think part of the entry with the broken pipes in bowser maybe has been about wondering where those broken pipes originally have lead to. I know they are not really programmed to take you anywhere. But maybe either it implies in it lore just by its presence or perhaps once originally was planned to lead somewhere that eventually got cut from the game and the pipe to it was reused as a barricade.
I remember a few specific instances where Dreambert’s full body was could be seen in the dream world on top of Bedsmith and Eldream, but only his head was shown when you save him. I also found it odd that there are 52 Pi’illo folk in the game but he’s only one who doesn’t count towards the grand total despite the fact that other distinct members of the Pi’illo people like Eldream and Bedsmith DO count and the fact Dreambert is saved in the exact same way as the others. This is why I like to believe that the game 53 Pi’illos to rescue as opposed to 52. Either way, I still really enjoyed👍 both videos.
The ! Mechanic in Partners in time is actually used for bowser and baby bowser, elder shrooboid and 1 fase of EPS fight, just in the European and japanese version
OMG! This looks so good Ben! Congrats on 1K subscribers. You’ve earned it after all the work you’ve done. I hope we can collab on some fun stuff together in the future. Take care my friend. I wish you the best with your new future. 😊
27:24 I want to mention that you can discover the code in-game if you walk up to the info toad found in the toad hideout within bowser (forgot the location name 💀) right after he is freed from the safe
There's a really obscure easter egg in the barrel sorting minigame in Superstar Saga. When you do really well, some different sprites show up in the bottom right corner of the screen for a second. One of them is a boney chain chomp, the other is a stalfos from the first zelda game. I think you have to clear multiple rows of barrels in one move to gwt them to appear. Also, if you play the practice mode for a long time, eventually Bink will need to take a break and eat a banana for a few seconds.
There is one thing that is missing in Mario and Luigi superstar saga and in one of the movie posters there is one game that got mentioned but it’s not on the iceberg and it’s the legendary starfy
So this god damn Glitch with Bowser X in Bowsers inside story was just in the german game? This shit took so long for me to finish cause I couldn't see shit with all thise glitches or the game crashed, I had to grind so hard and leveling in that game took so endlessly long. I still love that game tho
Ok I'm actually not joking. I actually started working on an M&L inspired indie game and if anyone is an avid coder I really think I have something to exist someday! So lmk if anyone wants to help! I really just love the m&L community so thank you for shedding light on the iceberg! I enjoyed it lots
On Bowser still having the vacuum block, there's actually a sequence inside of one of Bowser's Castle's dream areas where bowser actually pulls it out and hits it in order to eat some meat that wasn't mentioned in this video. Also, it could be that Fawful's antenna shrivelled up at some point. What if the singular coil of hair you see on his head is actually not hair at all, but the remainder of what used to be his antenna? Also, I believe the Massif bros having connections to Fawful is in their food based analogies (it's not just beef, as indicated by them considering side salad to be an insult, it's more comparable to them being steak dinner themed) and in not being fluent in English. These are more similarities than connections though, I'd say. There's a surprising amount of subtext in these games, so it was fascinating to watch this video, and the whole miss to excellent scale was a great addition. Really well done!
bowser never pulls out the vacuum block in dream team, the cutscene before his giant boss fight with all the meat just has him using the inhale ability automatically like he does with the dream stone dust
Wait Luigi was sleeping at the start of DT? I thought he was just knocked out from the fight and that that never was a dream, honestly that does make sense for everything
M&LDT was the first RPG I ever played, it was so charming and fun, but very hard. I have so much memories for it but the second M&L game I played was BIS.
Awesome video! There are a few things I'd like to add or mention: •I'm genuinely surprised there's nothing on the iceberg about the character Yikk from Bowser's Inside Story, because I think he's one of the most intriguing characters in the whole franchise. Like, is he human? Who IS he?? He only shows up in this one game (and not even in the flesh) and then never shows up again. A theory I had for a while that's kind of dark is that Bowser actually killed Yikk during the giant battle against the tower of Yikk, so that spooked me to think about. But later I realized Yikk was probably already dead for some time and that's why the tower wasn't being used anymore. •Also nothing about Chakron and how he watches over you the entire game and shows you your ranks after the credits, but maybe that's an obvious one. •There is a glitch in Dream Team where if you didn't update the game, the game would softlock after you beat Antasma X but only if you used any Luiginary attacks, preventing you from unlocking the boss medley. This actually happened to me after I FINALLY defeated Antasma X after coming back to the game years later, only to have the game softlock (my SD card slot is broken so I can't update the game). I was able to win by using the right gear and only using regular attacks without any Luiginary, which was difficult but rewarding. Maybe there was something else but that's all I can think of for now
Actually, Tomato Adventure is not m&L’s spiritual successor. m&L Superstar Saga came out in 2003, if anything it took inspiration from Tomato Adventure.
I grew up with the german release of Bowser's inside story. I actually thought the glitches were intentional to make the battle appear for exciting or intimidating. It worked honestly
