10 years ago, back when Mario and Luigi Bowser's Inside Story was the latest game in the Mario and Luigi series, I announced a fangame called Mario and Luigi RPG 4 that I was making in Game Maker 8. 2 years after that, I started to put in custom assets to make it feel more like a sequel. However, I decided to cancel it after the project became impossible to work with.
Now, I'm happy to announce that I am reviving the project. Right now, the fangame is in development. Currently, I am working on the battle engine to be as faithful to the Mario and Luigi series as possible.

I like to see one where Peach joins the Mario Bros. on an adventure and have her as a playable character. Same with Daisy. I call it Mario & Luigi: Royal Adventure.

It's actually look a amazing game! I just hope that you have some new fresh ideas for a revival (like a new partner than Starlow, not that I hate her; or more available save files) and continue like that, I am very interested!

That open source thing is awesome! Thinking about a fangame I would call “M&L: Parallel Paper Jam” being what paper jam was in an alternate universe where the potential of a Mario and Luigi and Paper Mario crossover was taken advantage of.

Oh shit I want to make a game like that so it is true game maker could be used to make a game like this...I don't wanna make a mario and luigi game but a game to be a spiritual successor I will most likely fail but hey I want to. I love the Mario and Luigi series(I preferred the 16-bit style but honestly the new sprites are better),so I wish you luck man,I doubt you would give two horse shits about this but hey .have a great 2020 and keeping doing your best like the rest of us

I want to make a mario and Luigi fan game called, mario and Luigi toon dimensions where mario and Luigi will have to go to centaurworld,amity park (and the ghost zone),bikini bottom,bellwood (and other areas in the ben 10 multiverse),maybe generator rex's universe, and Amphibia to save the mutiverse!!

Honestly...I think you should just make a completely new IP that just uses the Mario and Luigi formula. It'll keep Nintendo off your back.

Why risk years of development just for it to go down the drain when you can make something more original with 0% risk? That's my point. (Plus he can also sell it if he pleases.)

Better watch out for the nintendo ninjas, they're probably going to come after you for this. I would recommend making a fangame in secret instead of opening development up to the community, so that once you release it and nintendo tells you to take it down, then people will still be able to play it because the product will be finished and downloadable on various websites. Nintendo can tell the creator to take down the files they host, but if other people download them before they're removed and host it themselves, then nintendo won't be able to stop them all from being distributed.
