A wordsmith dazzled by food soft & doughy, adventurous tales, days oh-so snowy, travelling about on birds o’ metal, and leafy drinks via screaming kettle.
hey syd! i love your videos so much and have been binging them for motivation haha - was just wondering is there any way to bump up the audio for your voice on the videos? either way will be watching for ever - good luck on your projects atm!! <3 <3
OMG I love Manor and Maker! I'm obsessed with all the chateau channels. Lol Idk why, I'm not interested in buying one...Would love to go visit Steve and Sarah on a writing retreat. Hello, from New Hampshire, US. :D
Hello, fellow New Englander ❄️🍁 The retreat was great, and the food was delicious (and very accommodating)! Their website has all the info on the retreat if you wanted to look into it! Thanks for watching and happy writing!
I'm so glad you like them! And thanks for the feedback! Yeah, I think it just varies because if there are other people in the house while I'm filming I tend to speak more quietly cause I'm awkward like that lol. I also don't use any fancy equipment
@@sydthedreamer I completely understand. I get like that sometime also. Your videos are wonderful. Better than a lot of channels that have expensive equipment. Can't wait to see more of your writing journey!
I’ve done a lot of editing on the first chapters of my main project recently, and work on the synopsis and query, and I’ve found it so easy to get lost in the changes and lose sight of whether I’m even improving the stuff! I should be getting feedback in early January but at the moment I’m thinking I want to completely re-arrange the opening again 😅
Oh I feel your pain! If it's not getting lost in the weeds it's going in circles with revisions. I hope you find the light at the end of the tunnel soon and that the feedback you get is useful!
Wow, your dedication and discipline for writing is very admirable! The way you tackled challenges and managed to turn your thoughts into such a fantastic narrative is goals. I have procrastination issues as well hahahah! Looking forward to your journey!
I’m also writing a novel! Only 3 days in but I’m on 3k words! Hopping to write at least 50k. Hopefully I’ll also be able to experience the joy you are feeling!
That's incredible, congrats on your progress! All I can say is keep showing up for your story and for yourself and you will get there, through all the highs and lows.
Congratulations! Your reaction when you finished...I could literally feel your joy through the screen. And I'm glad you mentioned letting yourself revel in your accomplishment like you deserve it. Congrats again (and I _feel_ the video description in my bones lol)!
Thank you so much! Yes, it really feels like such a culmination of everything I've been through honestly. Can't wait to get back to it and revise it for the better. Thanks for watching!
That's just the culture! I guess they view nudity very different than us Americans. Over there, it's really not a big deal. Also, I think it has to do with "cleanliness". But they even ban people with visible tattoos from going to public onsen. It's all very interesting.
@@sydthedreamer You're so welcome <3 your vlogs are some of my faves I have a weird accidental tradition where I end up rewatching the series every three years or so. The nostalgia just hits and it pops up on Netflix and I'm like, WELL guess this is what's happening haha
You've made my day! I may need to hop on that tradition too cuz I enjoyed rewatching it just now way more than I expected to. Even my husband was asking me for plot updates 😄
there's a lot of Asian influence over there in Guyana. afaik the west indies have a lot of crossover so the combination of foods wouldn't be that bizarre. (citing from my Guyanese/Chinese best friend, here.) (it's actually really funny bc in our house, she makes the best Indian curry & I make the best Japanese curry, so we take turns 😂) don't be too worried about things sounding strange! the world is a lot broader than we've been allowed to believe/see! I hope you did get to ask your mom about it! there's nothing culturally inappropriate about appreciating the beauty of a place ya know~
Thanks for your encouragement! It's been really nice to learn more about Guyana 🇬🇾 and it's influences, especially because relatively few people have heard of it in my experience. I have such an obsession with Indian food and I realized it's cause it had a lot of influence on West Indian cuisine. There really is such a blend of influences! I think I've just been overthinking it, and you're right, I just need to have fun with it and let my appreciation for the cultures shine through!
Thank you for your tip on writing out each chapter, scene by scene. I just did that for my novel and it helped so much! I can see what subplots I haven't talked about in a while, see how long each chapter is, ect. :) thanks! Keep up the good work.
my reaction to milwordy was the EXACT same XD i was like helllll no! ive never even won nanowrimo before nfdjsjbdk keep doing your own thing love the glimpses of music practice and song making. you look so giddy, its so cute! ^^;;
Thanks! I used a free program called LMMS. You can just download it from their website online. As someone who knows nothing about music production, it's been a fun tool to learn and play around in!
omg your dancing 😂 genius I love it 🤓 whenever I do nano, I'm usually already writing daily anyway - not 50k, mind you, but nothing to sniff at, either - so I keeping doing my own "nano-adjacent" thing, kinda how it sounds like you're doing. they always say nano is a way to get people to do the thing they don't do the other parts of the year, right? but if you already doing it, then it's no need to go ham on nano😅 is kinda how I always looked at it, anyway loved the vlog, as always ^^;
That sounds exactly like what I'll be doing. I will say though that it's been rare for me to actually be in the drafting stage during November, but I think I'm more excited about writing during the fall than during NaNo tbh. But the comraderie of fellow writers is always lovely!! Thanks!
