Hello welcome to the channel. I'm Tiller. I play and review games and talk about different topics surrounding games and the industry.
There will be a lot of focus on Japanese games on this channel. I won't be focusing on western games as much. If anyone ever has a game they want me to review leave it in the comments of a video and I'll look into it. There are still western titles I am interested in but the foreseeable future tells me they're not coming out until 2023 or so.
For the time being on weeks I am not posting reviews, I will be making general discussion posts. I want people to feel welcomed and comfortable watching the videos I make.
Idk if I agree that Royal is the best starting point. I started with OG P5 into Royal and recently beat P4G. I wish I'd started with 3 or P4G before ever playing P5/Royal because the insane gameplay innovations that came with P5 makes me really dislike the combat of the previous games. Even being able to switch your party members during battle or back line party members getting exp was sorely missed when I played through P4G. I'd also recommend P4G before Royal (I haven't played any version of P3 yet) because the story is phenomenal. I'd go as far as saying it's better than P5 in many aspects.
for me, i started off with p4g and took a break starting mitsuos dungeon to play p3r i enjoyed p3r quite a lot (except for tartarus) and absolutely loved the mechanics and story/ending. after that i started playing p5r and im currently in shidos dungeon. id say the introduction to this one is slow, and didnt grab my attention as much, but theres definitely more things to do in p5r and does get interesting late game. after i finish p5r ill have to finish p4g so i recommend,, p4g > p3r > p5r
Heres my play order 5, 3, 4, IS, 1, EP I think 3 is the best starting point then probably 5 then 4 the 1 then IS and then EP. Don't pass on the classics they're so good
The anime for persona 5 is good it’s just the cutscenes and all the stuff that’s not gameplay adapted into a few episodes why say it’s bad it’s great if you have not got over 100 hours to play the games
The female protagonist route was not that different it had the ability to romance the guys and obviously different dialogue options but the story was basically identical it’s not worth playing though the canon route is the male route and p3r adapts that great plus the aigis dlc coming soon it will be the definitive way to play persona 3
...HMMMPHH... *_P5R IS ENOUGH_* ,SELF SUFFECIENT GAME THAT TOLD almost everything ABOUT WHAT "NORMAL SOCIETY" HIDES BEHIND THEIR "MASKS".....AND COULDVE BEEN VALUED AS WORK OF PHILOSOPHY ......AND THIS IS KINDA ON THE SAME LEVEL AS INFAMOUS *_ELFRN LIED_* BUT NOT SO harsh..........THAT'S HOW HIGH VALUE THIS GOT ........ABOUT WHAT'S BEFORE..........HMMMM.......HOW TO DESCRIBE.......THEY'RE KIND OF UNFINISHED WORK.............SOMEWHAT MISSING.........THERE..... ...BY THE WAY,I'VE HEARD THAT AT LEAST SHOJI MEGURO LEFT ATLUS SO HE WONT BE MAKING P6 ANYTHING AND MAYBE OTHER DUDES HAVE LEFT AS WELL........RIGHT??......SOOO...KINDA......P5R IS THE *_FINAL_* PERSONA........WHICH MARKS EXACTLY.......WHICH PART SHOULDVE BEEN PLAYED DEGINITELY,AND OTHERS...ARE......ONLY IF THERE IS INTEREST
@@KatelynS0209 i do but i think that it would run 30fps bc i got my iphone 12 since launch. my laptop also suck and is just useable for schoolwork/homework
I have a level 99 yoshitsune equipped and now I'm in the process of getting all stats to max. When I grind him, I already got the first stats (agility) to level 99, but when I register it to my compendium, the agility is on 96. Can you help answering my problem? T_T
If the DLC makes the game longer I'll pass. It's already 80+ hours alone. I don't understand why Atlus has to make games that require so many hours to play. 30-50 hrs is the sweet spot.
I've heard that Soul Hackers 2 takes about 35-40 hours to complete, so it's one of the shortest MegaTen games (excluding Raidou Kuzunoha 1/2). That said, Vengeance is a huge game, even if you play only the new route.
I played the games Persona 4 Golden, Persona 3 Reload, then Persona 5 Royal... so I did the exact opposite of what you thought was the best order. I also did bad ending of SEBEC in Persona 1 after finishing Royal.
SPOILER DONT READ IF YOU HAVENT PLAY PERSONA 5 OR 4 I understand your point but personally I dont agree. I think p4g is the best one to start and this is coming from someone who like p5r little more. p4g gives you beter understanding of worlbulding of persona world. Introduces concept of palaces and SPOILER DONT READ IF YOU HAVENT PLAY PERSONA 5 OR 4 SPOILER DONT READ IF YOU HAVENT PLAY PERSONA 5 OR 4 SPOILER DONT READ IF YOU HAVENT PLAY PERSONA 5 OR 4 SPOILER DONT READ IF YOU HAVENT PLAY PERSONA 5 OR 4 Introduce you to igor which makes revel in persona 5 more impactful. I recomended to my friend to start with p4g, to try it and if he does not like it head out to persona 5r
P5R is by far the best one to start with, if you want to play the modern games. If you play P3/4 before it then you could be spoiled on some of the twists.
I played Reload first and later bought P4G then P5R later. But with P3R, I only found out about certain mechanics like being able to switch Personas mid battle and other stuff later on
Due to personnel reasons I have a lot more time for gaming so I started playing the entire series for the first time. I played Persona 5 Royal 1 or 2 months ago, I don't remember exactly when how many weeks ago. Then I played Persona 3 reload and played 5 strikers and tactics while I waited for 4 to go on sale. And now I'm playing Persona 4 golden. So I agree with you, this is The perfect order to play the series Side note if you want to play persona Q 1 and 2 and don't have a 3DS you can use retroarch, citra is dead but people forget that retroarch can play 3DS games and if you want to use a real 3DS emulated then there are videos about lime3DS And extra side note to play Persona 4 Arena Ultimax then I think you must have also played episode Aigis/The Answer, you forgot to put that in there
My very genuine and the only correct opinion is that you should start with P4G because it’s the easiest to pirate, then go for P5R emulated through Ryujinx (FitGirl repack is really good) and forget about P3R until maybe it gets cracked some day (i doubt it) and also wait for the dlc(s). Atlus won’t see a penny from me for P3R because locking FES content behind dlc is preposterous. I started with P5R tho, needed that handholding really bad. I did try P4G first and dropped it exactly because it throws you into things too quickly. And the vibe is much more clunky. Nanako helps tho. Great vegetables.
@@crunchy303 lmao i guess he thought its more of a iykyk situation but posting end of base game spoiler in the comments is insane, idc how old the game is
My first persona game was p5 and I almost gave up on the series because I hated it. I liked the first palace and "arc" but the rest of the game doesn't keep the mature, realistic writing that the start of the game has, and instead tries to focus on quirky writing and goofy characters. Thankfully my brother convinced me to play P3 and then I played p4 (which is my favourite one) and p3p. Tried reload but it's way too different from P3 and doesn't include the additional content from any of the other versions of the P3 so it just seems like a waste of money. I hope p6 tries to differentiate itself from p5 and p3r
@@benjoman8252 Complaining about P5 having quirky writing and character and proceeding to say P4 is your favorite where all the characters are anime stereotypes with 80% of scenes consisting of funny slice of life for pre teens is crazy
You have to be into the story to enjoy p4g basically. It gets far better after rises dungeon, even in terms of something as little as music (god I hate dungeon themes for dungeons 1-3)
@@MisterIncog do you think I’ll still have fun even though I have the killer spoiled but that’s about it and how teddy because like a human form or something
solid list Personally I started with Persona 4 Arena Ultimax when I was a Kid and Tried Playing Persona 1 and 2 which felt sluggish but abosutely loved P3P still havent played P5 or P4 but even with my Solidsh Persona knowledge this list defintely aims to ease people into Persona instead of just throwing them in which can be frustrating for newbies especialy if they havent played alot of TRPG
I love this series but imo they have never once managed to design and balance the combat right I have played GER, GE2RB and GE3 and personally there are big issues with each game GER: unironically has the most balanced gameplay out of the series, the non-existence of blood/burst arts means the players have to utilize most if not the whole kit of the weapon's moveset, additionally with the devour styles melee combat becomes much more dynamic. The issue is melee weapons are pretty weak compared to guns, and this incentivizes people to just use melee weapons secondarily since the aragamis were very strong towards the end GE2RB: my first god eater and my favorite out of the series, but I have to say that the combat balance is also the worst unfortunately. Being only able to equip 1 blood art means that your gameplay consists of spamming 1 attack for 99% of the mission, since there's simply no reasons to use other moves other than your blood art and this in turn makes you feel like you main a blood art instead of a weapon. Also not using blood arts/using weak blood arts is very punishing as the aragamis are also very strong in this game. And finally...there's Blood Rage, a mechanic that was introduced in Rage Burst, which completely breaks the game due to how overpowered it is, I wont say much regarding BR since it's very easy to see the issue with it already GE3: god eaters have much higher mobility in this game and being able to equip 3 burst arts at the same time makes the combat a direct improvement from 2RB. But same with 2, although being able to use 3 burst arts at the same time is easily an upgrade, instead of using only 1 attack you now spam 3 moves for the entire mission and the rest of the weapon's moveset is omitted (again, no reasons to use anything else due to how strong blood/burst arts are and theres no conditions to use them either, you can just spam them). But still the combat indeed feels the most fluid and satisfying out of the seriesdue to 3 being much more modern than the other. Still, the biggest issue with 3 is endgame content being too easy, with the +60 rank 7 weapons even the strongest aragamis (save for the ashwroughts) get staggered repeatedly from your burst arts spam and get deleted pretty quickly Overall, this is just my opinion but I hope if GE4 gets released one day, the combat needs to have significant changes to them to even compete with MH
You should play persona Q its an etrain odyssey crossover. The story is great and you feel like you make a lot of progress when playing it. Also the music is so sick especially whem you go up against a FOE and group gets all hyped up
I just want one last game to end the series to explain all the remaining questions and give us a good ending where Aragami are either wiped out or they are able to be turned docile like they briefly were at the end of GE3 with the worldwide engage.
Honestly I do agree the DLC is overpriced as hell but to be fair the content itself is actually pretty good, Sakuya is easily the best healing and support Demon in the entire game and I don't think I could even get as far as I have if I didn't have the Mitama DLC, the amount of slog and grinding it saves you cannot be overstated
God Eater is just criminally underrated. There's even an anime that was animated by ufotable (known for demon slayer and fate) and it still wasn't enough to make it relevant. The series as a whole seems like a passion project and one of the few flaws I see from it so far is probably the lack of difficulty compared to Monster Hunter. Still a good game overall
Mitamas DLC are bad Grind isn't mandatory in main game and in post game grind there is way to get set location mitamas And yes 5$ per DLC quest is really bad for a 5m no fun (and Dagda DLC where you can get the two only if NG+...)
@@gotinogaden Do all the quests and the game become easy Yes the damage scaling by level is bad but it can also work in your favor And for Shiva it will always be mandatory
Enjoyed vanilla V but absolutely loved Vengeance. Best the press turn battle system has ever felt. Addition of Yoko and the Qadistu made the story more interesting. Ended up doing both routes with all 5 endings.
What I think would have been better is if instead of Mitamas being charged for again, they instead made a new unique 3rd dlc for vengeance, I’d rather still pay for them than be without the mitamas, cause quite frankly we’d be spending an actual lifetime grinding to complete all 6 endings this game offers
I wish sakuya was included in the game i love her design but the fact when i play this game years from now i wont have access to her (i got the game on switch and the game and original dlc is all on the cartridge) maybe in 6 she'll be in the base game
You're getting a better deal on SMTVV's DLC. Look at Persona 3 Reload and it's ridiculous overpriced DLC and/or "Expansion Pass" that I personally don't think it's worth the price and I love Persona 3 it's my favorite Persona game. The Answer should've been in the base game as an unlocked content when you beat the main story. If anything FeMC should've been the only Expansion Pass that also includes a FeMC version of The Answer. That would be the Expansion Pass that's worth my money. The reason the Mitama DLC weren't included in the base game is because they're essentially pay-to-win content.
@@Mirai_24Half of it yes. The Social aspect is entirely a different experience but the combat remains the same just changes of the UI. So $30 is a reasonable price.
@@Nyarlathotep727 what about the animated cutscenes, the voice lines of kotone, the voices of the new characters from the social links, the ENTIRELY different ost of the femc route. That's a whole ass separate game that would cost as much as reload to produce. 30? Lmao be fr. Game development doesnt work like that
