I disagree with Sakuya. She is by far the best healer in the game. She completely power cliffs Idun and even heal your MP. She saved me in a ton of fights
which is still bs because this is downright pay to win in a god damn single player game if you want to do the more difficult things in the game such as secret bosses, lowlevel playthroughs or godborn. I simply dont see how you can do the lvl 999 fights without her and I HATE it. One of my favorite things about this series is that you can do a lot of cool shit with all kinds of demons but all the broken special shit is always kept for the DLC demons, except this time the stuf they have is damn near mandatory
@@loadingname5499 Tao is probably better for the level 999 fights actually since getting debilitated in one way or another is highly likely and she has dekunda/luster candy/heal. Also Once you get to stuff like that mp costs are not an issue at all especially since the sim gives you max of every time whenever you do challenge battles and level 150 demons can get close to 999 mp on their own. There is no pay to win going on in Vengeance however i would agree mitamas being required for grinding godborn if you said that instead because the price to pay for stat boosters with macca is mad stupid. If you complained about dps checks with the superboss fights and being forced to cheese or be cheesed i would agree but this response right here is confusing me.
@@dave9515 tbf I havent gotten that far to know if what Im saying is actually completely true or not, Im mostly going of of things other people have said and seen. I didnt really say about the mitama grind bc technically at some point you will be able to number tweek things yourself. If what you say is true then that is more than fine for me, all thing considered. Still really sucks that they nerfed everything to the ground to make Sakuya so broken, I just want to do everything without needing the DLC
@@loadingname5499 Impaler's glory was not nerfed, Critical aura was not, Status ailments and some small nerfs to like cleo and idun is the only real nerfs the game got. If more stuff feels nerfed its because they changed the scaling system. magic got huge buffs in vengeance and is really fun to use, Accursed poison and impalers animus got nerfed but animus nerfs really don't matter unlike accursed poison and ailments. Luck now improves crit rate in vengeance instead of increasing ailment chance. There was more buffs and new additions than nerfs. Everyone else talking about Sakuya being so broken she is mandatory don't know what the game is like then since the dominant strategies currently all don't really involve her. Sakuya is one of the best healers in game for sure but the real broken healers are Amagie yes she is broken she can cure ailments with ease and Tao who i would say is undisputed best. Nerfs are not the worrisome part at all i think demifiend buffs to him and his demons, the new lucifer fight buffs and then the whole way satan and masakado fights are designed is more problematic.
You're getting a better deal on SMTVV's DLC. Look at Persona 3 Reload and it's ridiculous overpriced DLC and/or "Expansion Pass" that I personally don't think it's worth the price and I love Persona 3 it's my favorite Persona game. The Answer should've been in the base game as an unlocked content when you beat the main story. If anything FeMC should've been the only Expansion Pass that also includes a FeMC version of The Answer. That would be the Expansion Pass that's worth my money. The reason the Mitama DLC weren't included in the base game is because they're essentially pay-to-win content.
@@Mirai_24Half of it yes. The Social aspect is entirely a different experience but the combat remains the same just changes of the UI. So $30 is a reasonable price.
@@Nyarlathotep727 what about the animated cutscenes, the voice lines of kotone, the voices of the new characters from the social links, the ENTIRELY different ost of the femc route. That's a whole ass separate game that would cost as much as reload to produce. 30? Lmao be fr. Game development doesnt work like that
Other commenters, you do know that this game's dlc can be scummy, as well as Persona's dlc can just be scumm-ier, right ? Those two things aren't mutually exclusive
The red Mitama’s appear way too frequently in the base game. It’s a waste of money buying that one in particular because most people don’t keep demons long enough to care about leveling them up. My inventory is stocked the most with grimoires from them that I don’t even need. Wish I could sell them off, but they’re worthless
Did Vengeance do something with the spawn rate of Red Mitamas? I think I obtained like 20 in the first area alone. I had several Demons i kept because i liked the designs and a Perma Slime and i still was consistently above 10 Grims throughout the game. I swear in base V i was only able to get like 7 before i would leave the first.
My friend gifted me this game in the Deluxe Edition and i didnt realize he had done that so i assumed the Mitama DLC was included with this release and was simultaneously annoyed when i realized it wasnt but pretty stoked to realize i had the deluxe edition. Im glad i have the Mitamas though because ive been fusing like a madman (55% compendium completion at level 52) and it would have been genuinely impossible to be able to fuse all of these demons without the money mitamas
I wish sakuya was included in the game i love her design but the fact when i play this game years from now i wont have access to her (i got the game on switch and the game and original dlc is all on the cartridge) maybe in 6 she'll be in the base game
Also they nerfed Idun(the other healer with heal+luster candy) from the base game just to make the new DLC character be more powerful. Oh and Idun can't be used with the best debuffer Beelzebub because of his innate skill pushing you even more towards the better DLC support. Very cool Atlus, no shame pirating this.
Its okay cause bubzy as good as he is can't always be used in fights since some will spam dekaja/dekunda like every turn and you can still run other options like a certain new girl who has the best debilitate since its a dekaja/debilitate/nuke attack all in one skill. Beelzebub really isn;t the best debuffer in the game and Idun is still runnable and usable. Also idun was dlc in base V so complaining about her changes is kinda weird ngl.
@@dave9515 Idun was not DLC in base V, she was in the core game. Hell, one of the main story quests requires you to interact with her. Only DLC demons in the original game were the non-Alice Fiends, Artemis, Cleopatra, and Mephisto.
The Mitamas DLCs are game breakers, pure and simple. The reason I got them with the Deluxe Edition is to support Atlus, but they do make the game pretty boring if you indulge too much. Don't get them unless you want to experiment with fusions or to complete the game in short amount of time, because you'll be leveling up like crazy during mid-game anyway. For many trad SMT players, Konohana is "busted". She comes with HP/ MP + stats increase, and these can often leverage even the harder fights in your favour. Not good if you want to do a low level run, but on the bright side, it's Yukiko original's VA and its one of her few appearances (notwithstanding P4). Her theme also reminds me of Scarlet Nexus music style, mainly funk /electronic, which is awesome. At level 80, Dagda - who's making a comeback from SMT IV - is fairly challenging, and I know he looks like an easy target here (you've got all of your crew at 75+ min after all) - but he's kind of like Cleopatra+ and is a heavy hitter for sure.
In playing with them on for a first playthrough. Once i know what im doing and get decently good, ill start a run without them, even though it just seems like a grindfest on autobattles with a low level ass team lmao
Not true, you can use the Mitamas to optimize your character and demons without having to grind for hours on end, especially in the early to mid game where you barely get any scrap of EXP, let alone how utterly painful it is to get good Macca or how you will never get enough Glory to get all the essential Miracles yes you can go overboard with it and break the game but as long as you have self control that should not be an issue, and the Turn Press combat system is so demanding and precise that even if you're ten levels above a boss they can still fuck you up if you don't have a good party setup or ailment resistances, I see no issue with it Your claim that it breaks the game is simply not true because the game still expects a decent degree of strategy and planning from you in order to efficiently defeat demons at random encounters and story bosses
Konohana Sakuya is the best among all of the DLCs. Makes managing for SP during tough battles so, so much easier. It is the main reason my 1st playthrough-Canon of Creation "replayed"-is going so well. She can become a crutch (that is her main con, I would say), but when a tough battle is next, I rarely choose anyone else. Because of her and the Nahobino Magatsuhi refilling skill + Revival Chant, I think the one challenge in this game will be the Demi-Fiend. Haven't tried Masakado and Shiva yet (only level 78 right now.) I think that because both Sakuya and Dagda's have their own battle themes, and are so nicely 3D animated, they are at least the DLCs to get. Where the Mitamas are plain and simple time savers that one could abuse to get too powerful. IME, for a normal Hard playthrough, no one needs Mitama DLCs-and I also did not buy them in the original game. But new Demons? Yes please. (DLC Demons have been going on for a while-SMTIV had them. Day one DLCs are just money makers, but I like supporting them when they make sense. The new demons vs money/Macca/leveling "cheat": while at least Sakuya is a bit too powerful, it takes some skill and strategy to use her powers to advantage, while Mitamas are just a shortcut to power. No one pays to win, as one could do without any DLCs in this game. I love Dagda and Sakuya in this game, and both added lots of fun to my gameplay.)
If the DLC makes the game longer I'll pass. It's already 80+ hours alone. I don't understand why Atlus has to make games that require so many hours to play. 30-50 hrs is the sweet spot.
I've heard that Soul Hackers 2 takes about 35-40 hours to complete, so it's one of the shortest MegaTen games (excluding Raidou Kuzunoha 1/2). That said, Vengeance is a huge game, even if you play only the new route.
I think on steam the (deluxe editon ) is 10 more dollars ( 70$ usd ), it has all the dlc but you cant purchase anything separately like you could on the switch version
Highly disagree. Vengeance DLC is by far cheaper than any other Atlus game DLC. Vengeance deluxe edition (with all DLCs) is even cheaper than P3R regular edition (no DLC).
What I think would have been better is if instead of Mitamas being charged for again, they instead made a new unique 3rd dlc for vengeance, I’d rather still pay for them than be without the mitamas, cause quite frankly we’d be spending an actual lifetime grinding to complete all 6 endings this game offers
Worth for me ( bought deluxe ) have fun playing the game for many playthroughs. And I only increase mitama chance after my lv was max and play through many cycles. 10 bucks to make it completed is fine. The dlc way I dont like are from capcom like monster hunter dlcs that sell you million things 😂
Honestly I do agree the DLC is overpriced as hell but to be fair the content itself is actually pretty good, Sakuya is easily the best healing and support Demon in the entire game and I don't think I could even get as far as I have if I didn't have the Mitama DLC, the amount of slog and grinding it saves you cannot be overstated
Mitamas DLC are bad Grind isn't mandatory in main game and in post game grind there is way to get set location mitamas And yes 5$ per DLC quest is really bad for a 5m no fun (and Dagda DLC where you can get the two only if NG+...)
@@gotinogaden Do all the quests and the game become easy Yes the damage scaling by level is bad but it can also work in your favor And for Shiva it will always be mandatory
