Reptilicus was a DOPO. I'm amazed VS is releasing it, and in 4K! I am so happy. I not sure it was ever released on DVD in Denmark, and if it was, it was a long time ago. Way Bad Stone I will also order, being an old Dungeons and Dragons GM.
Good chat. AGFA and SWV are a winning combo. One of my favorite releases is The Curious Dr Humpp blu-ray. I only have the SWV DVD-R release of Bat P but I'd love to get the blu-ray just for the commentary. If you could have Lisa Petrucci on that would be gold.
Richard Beymer is my Great-Grandfather's cousin. My Great- grandfather was my bestfriend and I love doing research on him! I wish I got to Meet him. John T. Beymer
Another Great show. I have never understood the I don't know if it's hate or whatever it is , I love jack my top 5 favorite Francis Ford Coppola 5. Rumble Fish 4. Outsiders 3. Godfather part 2 2. Peggy Sue got Married 1. Jack (sorry not sorry lol)
Was nice to catch a small chunk of the live stream when my cat woke me up at 4am local time! Best wishes from a pasty white Scotsman who loves Blu-rays too much 😅
People who live near amazing stores like this have no idea how lucky they are. Nothing this cool exists anywhere near me. I'd be in this store at least once a week. I wish Scarecrow Video all the luck in the world. I wonder if a celebrity with money could help you guys out. Not only could they help financially but they could bring some publicity to your store
HOLY MOLY 🤗 I haven't heard that name in a Millennium !😂! I think the first time I went to Scarecrow, it was to get the 2 Disc Blues Brothers Laserdisc set, because you could play it Frame by Frame and freeze the Car Crashes 🤣. And ended up on their customer list, because if somebody didn't have something. The Owner Would Find it 👍 If I remember he got sick, and past some time after that. Sorry, I can't remember his name 😢 I STILL HAVE ALL MY LASERDISCS, and 3 players including my LP1000. I have most of my crap from back in the day. Including my Carver equipment, and Speakerlab stuff. And 2 crates of albums in Peaches Records and Tapes crates. Man, that was a long time ago...
@@TheDiscConnected Oh man, I have a shit ton of stuff !!! Sorry about your channel suggestions 👍 😏 Records, tapes, Laserdiscs, CD's, not a lot of DVDs. Have one of the First Super VHS machines, and several pieces of Carver equipment, all bought from Magnolia HIFI. Actually have 2 crossovers each for 6's and K's from speakerlab. A pair of "Dukes" from Speaker Factory. My old DD-75 Gerrard turntable. And a newer (🤣) Harmon Kardon T-45. I liked it better than the 65. Cassette decks and those laserdisc players. A pretty old Sony reel to reel. A DBX 4320. Oh man, lots of stuff. And stuff I don't even know I have yet, because it's been in storage, and I decided to get it all out. Even have an old 500 series Zenith Transoceanic Radio. And it works like a charm. And sounds Hella Good. As the kids say 😳 😏 A couple of the First Video Game Systems. Pretty Advanced actually. I think the games are called,.. PONG 😂 Remember, with the 4 wired controllers with the Wheel ! Hell. Even have a Slot Machine I forgot I owned. ... oh man yes, memories And I did look it up. It was George ! But I don't remember his name being George, what's up with that. I was there pretty often for a while. And I must have found them maybe after their first move I think. But it was a long time ago 🤗 It was cool to see the name again, I knew it Instantly 😎
I agree with Joel I just love what Monod macabro puts out. I’ve been getting their packages every time they drop for years, and I’m always super happy. They just align with my tastes.
Hey fella, absolutely awesome video what an interview like? I’m so super trapped I got to see this. I’ve obviously subscribed and yeah, I look forward to watching more stuff too thank you.
Great podcast .Thx Hey he mentioned Headhunter 1988 .He should have mentioned Kay Lenz One of my favorite 70-80’s female actors .She was Big in the 70 early 80’s .
Is the version you saw of Simple like silver like a digital screener, or you were able to watch the actual transfer that's on the Severin disc? Cause they haven't actually sent out the finished discs yet, have they? Usually their sale stuff takes months to ship.
@@TheDiscConnected Nice. Shakma has had a few German blu releases, it's pretty readily available at a nominal price on Amazon Germany. Diabolik put up a more recent Mediabook for it last year so I grabbed 1 of those. Transfer looked ok to me, but I have no idea if it was the some CR transfer or something newer and different.
Great conversation. I need to look into this website as I use to participate in a little group made course driven mini club myself. I appreciate that there is a higher platform for this kind of concept.
They got me into collecting again after a long break. Currently taking a break. I loved the Criterion Now podcast. The regular guests were true experts and it was so intriguing to me considering Criterion Collection, generally, has been a more appealing aspect to cinema consumerism. Glad you connected with them and Im looking forward to listening!
NICE!! I absolutely love the Unearthed catalog... From the American Guinea Pig to 100 Tears and La Petite Mort and all points in between! I've started reviewing Unearthed's stuff on TikTok...the world of horror owes this small, independent studio at least one watch!!
My favourite people! Loved how excited Aaron and Jill were talking about Cinejourneys. It's a lot of fun and the people who have been involved so far are suchj a great bunch. Love being part of it :)
Village Of Doom is not in black & white for the viewer who asked. It's in color & it is an excellent movie. I've had a bootleg DVD for years because the film was hard to find but I'll be upgrading to this blu ray release 👍
@@TheDiscConnectedI think you will like Village Of Doom. It's a really good movie. Another Japanese film from the 80s that definitely deserves a proper blu ray release is Mermaid Legend. Don't know if you've seen this movie but it's so good. Maybe you could mention this title to some of the people you know within the industry. I don't know about the rights issues or things like that but anyone who is a fan of a film such as Lady Snowblood would appreciate Mermaid Legend. It's a film that deserves more attention.
Great style of interview. It is interesting that you come from Barstow. The city with one of the highest crime rates per capita . Did you ever go to the amazing Rainbow Basin nearby? Getting back to the video . I am shocked it has so few views. Getting the word out on RU-vid is tough. Maybe it is too long and needs to be published in an edited format ? You obviously put a lot of work into your videos.
Thank you so much for the feedback and the memory jogs! I HAVE been to Rainbow Basin probably more than 50 times. I adored that place as a child and could probably still draw the hiking trail through Owl Canyon by memory. Funny enough, I just recorded another podcast episode about a time I spent in Rainbow Basin. Barstow is an embarrassment for many reasons, but the crime is ultimately what made my decision to leave so easy. I am so grateful my wife and I were able to escape, and ultimately that we were the anchor that allowed many of our friends to escape, as well. Yes, the videos sometimes do not get hit with an immediate jolt of views, but I am experimenting with editing my longer form content into shorter videos. I simply do not have a lot of free time to edit due to everything I do for physical media/film. I am hoping to be able to do more for the channel soon! Again- thank you so much for taking the time to watch and for commenting. It means the world!
Loved this interview with Kurtis and I loved his work on NY Ninja. Say what you want about VS and what they put out movie wise, but I love them and what they stand for. Great work on this one!
Editing has become such a huge part of my life. I was so glad to get some of that out there. And then the when is something done question- I have loved figuring out the different answers to that. It says a lot about someone.
Absolutely loved this, you are a great interviewer, and seem like a great person :) Put the video on and the time just flew by. I'm not super well versed in 'boutique labels' past the big ones in the UK like Criterion and Arrow, but you've put me on to some super cool ones in the process of watching this. So a big major thank you!
Direct quote from Jeremy just now: I said it then and I’ll say it now: YES, I feel like it was worth it! I wanted all the films from that particular Black Friday sale bundle AND really wanted the Cemetery Man goodies, particularly the snowglobe, which I absolutely do not regret!!! To get the all films package was already like over half of the price of the $500 bundle, if I remember correctly, but that wouldn’t have gotten me the CM goodies, so to get the CM bundle and then add all the other films on separately was like low $400 something, I believe if I am remembering correctly. Hahahaha So, yes, I think it was worth it and no, I don’t regret it!!! 🤪
Paul Rust was in a band when he was in school at University Of Iowa called "My Business Failed In Three Weeks." I used to be a sound guy at a few clubs and I mixed them a couple times at least.
@@TheDiscConnected I was one of the crew that started Cinemaniacs with him back in 2012 in a small pub called The Tote with a few $100 each , his funeral was today here in Australia - an absolute legend
