Excellent conversation. I think Letterboxd is a wonderful tool working to keep tabs on one's personal collection but also to capture personal notes on the viewings at the same time. I will say my ability to retain film knowledge as tremendously grown because my habit to write down my thoughts after each viewing. By default, I put those thoughts out there to the public if people want to see where I'm getting at, but ultimately the platform is excellent because it is very "Choose your own Adventure" in application. I can't really hate on the meme atmosphere that took over for a while on the platform, but I'm absolutely glad that there is more balance now that people want to write quality thoughts down more often.

Absolutely loved this conversation! Loved the discussion of the platform, phsyical releases and how important physical media is. Especially loved hearing Mitchell's thoughts on ratings and how he rates films. Reminded me of when you interviewed Howard S. Berger, and how thoughts on films may change depending on when you watch them in life. This has inspired me to create owned lists on Letterboxd now!!
