@@EmilyBean-nm9qi Yes, it’s a perennial. I cut it back to the ground mid summer and the. It flies back and I leave the seeds for the birds in the winter and cut it back very early spring.
@@GardenerInterrupted i live in a north facing apartment and would you have any suggestions for a plant that is virtually kill proof that may bloom sometime?
@@janetrushton5796 there are a lot of interesting and beautiful begonias that are shade loving and have stunning foliage and flowers. Roseform begonia, Rex Begonia. Shop in the shade section of a garden center, there really are beautiful things for every possible environments.
@@StarWonder while they look similar they are a different plant. Some dragon fruits can be epiphytic and grow on other plants or have aerial roots. I have yet to see any fruit on this plant but I will share it if I do!
@@Laryanka when we moved here 3 years ago the trees were badly neglected and had been eaten down by deer. It’s only this year that I’ve gotten the deer almost excluded from the area and started to get production from the trees. Each tree has maybe 20 fruit so it isn’t a lot, and we have 4 apricot trees. I also have bagged our 4 plum trees and 2 apple trees this year. I planted 2 cherry, 2 peach and 2 apricot and 2 donut peach trees this year which did not produce yet and I was not able to spray for peach leaf curl due to my severely broken leg which kept me in bed for 8 months. I hope to have better luck next year on all the trees!
I don’t think it’s in the same family. These are Disocactus and bloom during the day. Ceres as far as I know are an upright cactus whereas these epiphytes hang down from their roots.
@@stellaboudreaux2199 it is a Disocactus or Epiphyte. I got this one on accident and didn’t think much of it until it bloomed last year. I have a few now and want to propagate this one to get more. So amazing.
@@SolumKing I am not aware of any. Wild mustard is also similarly edible. Hemlock which is poisonous has purple splotches on its stems and has a very different flower and leaf structure so *shouldn’t* be easy to confuse. Always research the characteristics of any plant you want to eat before eating and try small samples first.
You are right, they will get through a few if they are determined but the same with tree netting. Those darn squirrels. I check my trees twice a day and harvest the ripe fruit.
I grew one in the dirt just to see if it would catch & root well a year later I’d say I have over 60 of them I wish I could dig em out . I ran them over with the lawnmower they grew back . I will be digging them out soon and toss them 😢I live in phx and they love where I keep them in the shade with water ❤
That's the way you choose to use your time? Commenting irrelevant nonsense on someone else's channel that takes a lot of time and hard work?? Maybe go back to playing video games instead of pretending to bully an adult who's working hard to meet their goals. Or, go out and get a job and see how much work it takes to prepare a garden space, weed it, plant it, water it daily, weed it again, water, water, water, weed it again & again, and then, IF you're successful, you'll get to harvest what you put all that effort into. The joy of that, I hope someday you will understand. It's way better than attempting to discredit or cyber bully someone, which is not something you're good at, btw
Not an extension cord. (I'm sure of that) Most likely some sort of trickle watering line so she doesn't need to go out and water with a watering can every day.
