It's a large workbench that folds up and stores away on the wall so when you don't need it, it's not taking up space in your garage or shop. it's also on casters so it can easily roll to wherever you need it. There are a number of videos on how to build one if you search "folding wall mounted workbench" you'll see a number of them. Here is a link to a more detailed video about mine. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HoFoGQ_3aDU.html
Thank you! yeah I wanted to rent a mini backhoe but nothing was available for months. So I didn't have much of a choice. I had already made up my mind that it was going to get done and not much stops me when I get in that mode. Not sure if I'll ever attempt that again! but makes for a great story now.
Holy JESUS! You have some easy soil to dig. I get about 10” down through the topsoil and it’s rock hard hard pan. I literally have to use a roto hammer with a spade to plant a tree or shrub in my soil. My soil breaks in shale like plates. Good job my friend.
Yeah we defiantly do no denying that. Thank you! I grew up in Western WA on glacier deposit and we couldn't put a shovel into the ground without hitting rocks so I'm very appreciative of the place we live now. I put up over 400' of privacy fence (52 fence post all dug by hand) It never would have been possible with soil like yours or like what I grew up on.
Really careless to use any laser tool where others have access, open rooms, outside, who else is wearing safety glasses or eve knows there's a danger??
@boobenhymer1 Thank you! I ordered them off of Amazon. I also used the same ones on the side of the pool to light it up as well. FYI: I just realized I didn't say anything in the video about making sure to weld the end of the round eye bolts. The ones I used needed the end of it welded to itself to complete the loop and in my first test I hadn't welded them and they started to bend and open up. Welding the end of the loop to itself fixed the issue.
My Late Dad taught me Why buy it if you can make it. I'm for sure going to make this stand. I got my shrinker/stretcher from Harbor Freight. The F-100 tailgate you made on the F.T.E. website was awesome.
@lilorbielilorbie2496 Thank you! I couldn't agree more, there is defiantly a "pride of accomplishment" when your able to pull it off and on the flip side bit of humble pie when you fail is realistically not a bad thing when you learn from it. Plans are in the works to building another "F100" tailgate in the future and I'll be sure to shoot video for the channel. A friend out of Spokane wants one for his truck so it will be fun to revisit that again. Thanks and good luck with building your stand.

@@FoPar1969 Thanks for the update. My Late Dad was a Union Pile Driver/Welder. When we were working together he gave me the best welding advice ever. He said always make sure that your weld is the very best that it can be because your life or someone else's life might depend on your weld holding.
The laser excels at removing rust quickly, panted surfaces not as quick as sand blasting but the set up and clean up is far easier with the laser. I've sandblasted before and and yes you are correct removing paint is faster with a industrial sandblaster but unless it's in a blasting cabinet the media gets everywhere. Also the faster the sandblaster the more media you use up. The laser doesn't consume anything other than power and the occasional lens that are cheap and easy to replace. The better video for my example of easy clean up is this one ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VFP_4KA9o5A.html Cleaning the rust and paint off of a cab floor without all of the interior removed and no media to clean up afterward. Hope you have a great day!

Are you in the U.S? Seems like most laser cleaners are in other countries. Wondering if there are any legal restrictions on laser cleaners in the U.S. Thanks.
yes I'm in the US, I have not come across any "restrictions" but I'm in the private sector of owner operator. If it was a place of business with employees then there are state requirements for class 4 lasers I would be required to follow. That falls more into same area as L&I for any business with any equipment that can cause physical harm. So this may be a bad example but it seems to be similar to a forklift at a place of business there are all kinds of restrictions and safety requirements but as soon as I buy one and use it at home nobody seems to care.
It really depends on the type of metal and how far the rust has gone. Also if your cleaning off paint it tends to leave a little bit of a texture. For the most part it's just removing the surface that's not metal. When I've hit bare clean metal it doesn't really do anything. Unlike other methods they tend to remove some metal no matter what.
@tonyowczarzak8893 Yeah I have several trucks to do so I figured this should speed up the frame cleaning. I'm going to advertise in my local area once I have a better feel for how it responds to different things. Maybe look around your area and see if someone else is offering it as a service. Good luck with your project!
Maxphotonics Co. MFSC 1000X-1500X(G5) CW Welding Fiber Laser Series. Mine is a 1000w machine and that's what I had it set at in the video. It's able to be set 300mm wide (11.811 inches) but that is also affected by how near or far away from the part you are. So sometimes it appears to be much wider.
I like it. I wonder if a general cleaning with soap and hose or pressure wash in order to get rid of some of the grime would help. Im sure you want to do a test for how well it would do. I also wonder how long til the epa starts regulating these!!!
yeah the pressure washer works great, I pressure washed the engine bay, suspension, and frame awhile back and it knocks off the majority of grease buildup. That's made it real easy for the laser in those areas. I haven't made any video's of that part of it yet but your exactly right it helps a lot.
@@968porsche9 they require a 220 plug and mine is set at a 1000w for most everything I do. Supposedly they average out to about 6.6kwh. We pay about $0.09 per kwh here so about $0.60 per hour to run. (I have seen some sites saying they use 15kwh so if that's true it would be $1.35 per hour) but still hardly anything compared to the time and effort savings.
yep an electric steel winch, here is the link to the one I bought: www.harborfreight.com/1500-lb-capacity-120v-ac-electric-winch-61672.html Hope this helps.
Yes! More videos to come! Hopefully now with the shop ventilation done and other shop improvements out of the way I can get back to the truck project and rust removal with the laser.
no, been tied up with other projects and shop improvements. I need to clean the lens and see it there is any damage as we were playing around with the settings and noticed it wasn't cleaning in the center only on the outer edges. The joys of learning something new... Should be fun.
I've gone back & forth over the same spot several times and the metal is "hot" but nothing crazy. But with a painted surface you do have to be more careful as the paint tends to burn and heat up faster.
is this pulse i just order a 1500 razortek 3 in 1 how dose it cleans paint and rust at low watts for auto restoration ? cant wait to get mine from china
Mine is just a 1000w fiber cleaning laser not the 3 in 1. I'm not sure what might be different on the one you ordered. Good luck with yours, they are very cool and exciting to use.
The fumes depend on what you are going over. Just rusty metal it's not too bad but paint and grease can get pretty stinky. I've added ventilation to the shop so it's not bad at all in there now. My paint respirator helps a ton, I don't even notice the fumes but the ventilation I added was the biggest help. I will be adding a new video on the ventilation build hopefully soon.
I also have a laser, what is key is the perfect distance from the head to the surface, if you do not have a perfectly flat surface then a large beam is less effective. A large beam also become less effective because you are spreading the power out much further. Do you have a link to the machine you are using? We have a pulse laser currently but are looking at purchasing a CW as well Thanks
@FoPar1969 Maxphotonics Co. MFSC 1000X-1500X(G5) CW Welding Fiber Laser Series, I bought it from a dealer... Lasersonly located in Jersey City, NJ. They told me (for this laser) 2 feet away should be the sweet spot but as you can see in the video I kept forgetting and getting closer.
lasersonly.com/ is a dealer out of New Jersey. The purchase was easy and smooth and I have called/face-timed a few times with the owner to trouble shoot my own ignorance on a few things at all hours of the day/evening and I'm in Washington St. (3 time zones away if your not familiar).
Buy one or build one? I say both!!! Our dog has a real hard time with loud bangs and booms, such as fireworks and storms too. I have no idea whatever caused that, but he's been that way as long as I can remember.
that was fun and educational. :) that said, a piece of advice. it seems you have volume auto-adjustment enabled on your mic, which means it turns the gain up when you're not talking, and then the first part of your speech is way loud until it dials the gain down to normal levels. generally to fix this you'll wanna visually inspect the sound curve of your final video and either manually shape spikes, or use a compressor plugin
Thanks for the advice, I noticed that as well but a newbie to all of this so stumbling through it. I'll do some research to see if the editing app has more audio adjustments... I'm sure it's there, I just haven't found it yet... lol! Thanks!
@@FoPar1969 tbh in general for these things i recommend looking up tutorial videos, either relating to audio and your software, or audio and your camera, and trying out what the videos say that have good sound :D
@@Mithaldu I looked through the settings in my editing app and I found the gain setting and I was able to fix the issue with the video saved on my computer. Thanks again for the tips! I'll be sure to use it on all new videos.
The pricing is all over the place on these things as is the quality from my research. I've seen them as low as $1,500 all the way up to $50,000 or even more. The dealer I bought it through also cut me a deal as I bought it at the end of the year. So I don't know if that pricing will stay there. As for shipping it back yes I would have to pay. I bought mine through Lasers Only in NJ.
Damn, if only there were a way a person could come up with a way to type in a few words and find these things out for ourselves. Then they could give it a cool name like Google or something like that. I bet they'd make a fortune.
