Wow! I just stumbled upon Saioa Hernandez a few days ago. How refreshing to hear a singer whose voice actually suits this repertoire, and a singer who sings it so incredibly well. I didn't know this combination happened anymore.
We're blessed to have Hernandez, Davidsen and Weissová. A great italian spinto, a great dramatic and a great wagnerian. Long live these three big female voices of this century!!

I like most of what she's doing but it gets very unstable and wobbly around the upper passaggio, mostly sharp, especially on those repeated notes. It's unfortunate because what she does on bottom is so impressive. It's not that the bottom is even that growly and big, it's that it "speaks." Very natural.
There are not many sopranos with a top range so secure and so accurate. Amazing. The metallic sound up there is perfect for Abagaille and for expressing extreme emotions ❤
As usual, a very fine singer in a very difficult role looking idiotic due to the stupidity of the staging and production concept that totally ignores the text and the music to indulge the overblown ego of a director or stage designer. What a pity..
