good everyone I have a Macbook pro 13 retina 2015 and I would like to use this software, but I currently have macos sonoma installed and my question is can it be used with this version of macos or the recent ones. thank you.
@@RuslanTulupov YES! My flashlight still turns off super easily whenever I'm using it. Even after doing these steps. If I'm actually using my flashlight for something and moving my phone around in my hand it will turn off id say in less than 30 seconds and I'm then stuck having to stop what I'm doing to look back at my damn phone and turn the flashlight back on.
@@RuslanTulupovNo, but music still pauses, skips to the next song, volume changes. This is just one of a dozen or more problems I’ve had. It sucks that if you use a feature it screws up another feature. As I said, a lemon. I hoped IOS 18 might help. It’s actually worse than before the upgrade. Don’t get me started on Apple support. Countless calls/chats/emails and they’ve yet to solve a single issue.
Thx ⭐That's quite handy, I've always thought my phone was still too bright at night and wanted it dimmer. + Now I've added it to my control centre for easy access too. 🤓
Use _Reduce White Point_ instead of _Zoom_ for an even better lower brightness level! Found under “Display & Text Size” - thanks to @polodubs1 for the tip!
Thanks for the lifesaving video. You might want to pin this message to the top as this can help others: I bought this adapter from Amazon and I received the model number 201388. Before you rush into returning the item and asking for a 201388-A, first download the tool listed in the description of this video and check if the model number shows "VM7100". If it does, you’re safe, no need to return. Just flash the firmware as instructed in the PDF. If it the model shows something else, ask for a return/replacement. I got mine working both on macos and windows. I haven't checked linux, though.
guys, just use USB-C DisplayPort 1.4 and that's all... no need to do anything else, just buy this cable and connect your mac to monitor. 144 Hz max for 4k resolution
well, me and several people have a TV or monitors that dont support displayport, so this workaround is the best solution, either that or apple unlocking the output for hdmi, since this is due to software limitations and not hardware
Any idea how i can make 2160x1440p -60hz available on my work laptop? the laptop is only hdmi 1.4 i think, but on my previous monitor I was able to get this resolution. Thanks!
Thank you Ruslan! Based on this video and other research, I bought the Belkin SOUNDFORM converter you demonstrated, and an eSynic Optical to RCA Converter. And I got it working with our circa 2002 Onkyo TX-8511 amplifier/receiver that is used for our whole-house stereo system. The frustration: our house has a whole house sound system with a pair of excellent speakers in every room; there are even speakers in the roof of the gazebo outside by the pool! Around 20+ years ago, we "upgraded" to an Onkyo TX-8511 amplifier/radio receiver, and a Sony CD changer that held 200+ music CDs. Well, the CD changer stopped working, so we've been left with FM radio only. And, in the past 5 years we've been listening to music on Apple HomePods. Most recently we got a HomePod Mini, with the thought that it would be more portable. However, in reality it's remained in its usual spot in the livingroom (IMHO HomePods should have recessed handles, but that's a different story..) So, although summer is coming to an end, we still wanted to be able to play any music on the whole house sound system. This video and another one from 10+ years ago that showed how to pair an iPod with an Onkyo TX-8511, and some research that explained that HomePods can aircast to Airplay 2 devices (Belkin Soundform is one) gave me encouragement that we might achieve the desired result. Tip: research also indicated using the CD input on the amplifier would be best for optical connections, and to absolutely not use the Phono input. Challenges: -The Apple Music acct was subscribed to by my husband, who is not a techie. The process of changing the Apple Music to a "family plan," given that I had already shared my Apple storage with him, strangely made it complex for another subscription to be added to sharing, and meant a lot of trial and error and frustration. -I have an iPhone 8 with iOS 16.7.10. Once I plugged in the Belkin Soundform, I could not get the Belkin setup to open on my phone, eventhough I was using the NFC tag. And in the Home App it wouldn't work either.. until finally it did. Lack of power on the phone was probably an issue. At that point, I named the Onkyo in the Home App. -The Belkin couldn't see the HomePod. I found instructions (from 2018) for resetting the account on a HomePod. (appleinsider.com/articles/18/02/14/how-to-reset-your-homepod-and-connect-it-to-a-new-apple-id#:~:text=To%20do%20this%2C%20unplug%20your,automatic%20prompt%20to%20get%20started). This was necessary because it had been logged in via my husband's acct, but he had left for a flight. Once I did this, I could **finally** see the HomePod Mini in my Home App on the phone. Previous attempts to add the HomePod via "add device" had gone nowhere. Note - this reset will not work if your phone is running on 2% power. Get a charger and get out of low power mode. 🙂 -I had the music playing on the HomePod and could see the player on the lockscreen of my phone, but I still didn't have the music playing via the amplifier. I looked at the player on my phone's lockscreen, and I tapped the icon (on the right) for the HomePod. This allowed me to select the output device, and there it was - Onkyo was an option! Once that was select and the volume on the amplifier boosted, I finally had my music on the lovely speakers that have such amazing audio quality, in the house! (After about 4 hours of trying.. lol!) The synchronization was so good, that at first I thought the Mini was no longer playing from its own speakers. But I went up close to it, and sure enough - it was playing too. It was in perfect synch with the whole-house speakers. One question: I followed the instructions from Belkin in the pamphlet for downloading the Belkin Soundform app - apps.apple.com/us/app/soundform/id1562371277 - but this app is for wireless earbuds from Belkin. Nothing about the product relevant here. There is another Belkin Soundform app but it is for use with Alexa. I am confused about this. Can anyone explain how they have updated the firmware on this device? thanks Ruslan, I also wanted to say that I was impressed with the video quality of this instructional presentation. You mentioned that video editing is your hobby.. well, I would say it also could be your job.. it was a very fine video. Thank you!
I trained myself to use Launchpad, populating it with all my useful apps (including some Applescript apps that do certain functions), with the dock at the bottom, hidden. Mousing to the lower left corner brings up both Launchpad and my dock, so they're both nicely hidden until I need them. What we need is a Mac program to move the whole screen over a bit, perhaps once per day.
No, iPhone would need to support sharing Ethernet to lightning which is occupied by the adapter itself. Easier to get an Ethernet to USB adapter for your PC
@@RuslanTulupov also just bought an LG C4 Oled Evo and just followed the stuff you mentioned in the vid. thanks man. quick question tho. windows has a HDR option in the display settings. should i leave that off or should i turn it on?tried turning it on a while ago to see and it made the screen super bright.
i have a four monitor set up connected to my macbook air 2021, is there a way to have one tab span across all four monitors at once so all monitors make up one large collective view?
Will a MBP M3 Max be able to run two 4k/120hz monitors? I'm getting a MBP M3Max. I was looking into getting a CalDigit TS4 dock since it's the best one I've found but it says it only handles 4k/60hz(it's basing that off all M1 line chips). That's why I'm wondering if an M3 Max would handle two 4k/120hz monitors.
They claim one 4K at up to 240Hz which would imply there’s enough bandwidth for two 4K at 120Hz, but the documentation is unclear. support.apple.com/en-gb/117736
Actually. There is a good and relative easy workaround for disabling ABL without putting the TV in service mode that erases it every restart: ColorControl.
@@RuslanTulupov Oh nah I didn't mean with ur method this is just with a standard hdmi cable. Is this normal for connecting a macbook with a 1440p display w/ hdmi?
Air: Support one display with up to 4K resolution at 120Hz over HDMI (no adapter needed) Pro: Support one external display with 4K resolution at 240Hz over HDMI (no adapter needed)
i have what looks to be the same desk. i suppose there are lots of copies of this desk. the pulls and molding look identical. however, the middle and top drawers to not seem to come out. the bottom drawers do and have the latch. i came to get a look at the stops for the 'tables', which you showed. thanks!
Buy a Mac they said... it will be great they said... This is just sad. I am using a regular 1080p monitor with 100 hertz refresh rate. Guess what, by the fault Max I can go is 60 Hz...On windows laptop, no problem... And to be clear I tried the same adapter with Windows laptop and MBA M1 over usb-c to HDMI. I am thankful for this solution, but guess what... Windows is better now.
Yeah limitations like these can be annoying. I think both systems started to go downhill… for Windows, it was after XP, for Mac it was after snow leopard lol
The model # in the link shows the gry version and I can’t seem to find the -A (it’s out of stock on cable matters site). Do you just buy the Amazon one hoping to get a -A and return it to try again if it’s gry?
@@davidnguyen4550 it probably will. The linked thread guide describes steps to make the GRY model work, too. The steps were too involved and too complicated to include in a RU-vid video plus it would confuse folks
I think my HDMI input wasn’t on PC when I filmed it. PC should automatically disable the settings it doesn’t support. Don’t need to do that one if it’s grayed out. 🫡
