I would just like to say that if the video is on recommendations page and the title isn’t long enough to fit on the page the title is very unfortunate

My grandfather was there (level 70 paladin) he was healing a friend when when a pluton of nazi's did a sneak attack . But my grandfather used fire explosion wich killed them all. Some says that if it was not for him the war would have been lost. He died last year with low stamina and no health , all his magic was gone r.i.p grandfather

We all talk about the brave soldiers who ran towards the enemy lines but nobody give the war-camera man a raise. He was the one who stopped in the middle of the beach to record. He had real balls out of steel…

if we look at the direction the soldiers are looking in the image and the impacts in the water (and of course the right leg of the hit soldier twisting in the air, probably due to a bullet that must have mowed him down) I really think that the shots are coming from the right in the image. Very probably from the WN 60, which had machine gun nests facing the sea that could fire in the middle, east and west of the strongpoint. That said, there is no proof that these shots come from these nests, because it is also possible that they are german reinforcements posted in improvised positions around the strongpoint. In any case it looks very much like an MG shots.

Such important film footage that shows some boys/men’s last moments on this earth, falling right in front of us while witnessing the sacrifices and training is not able to save them. One man staggered only to get hit again and fall down maybe that action saved another from getting shot. They are all heroes even if they got no medals. Those who follow history know they are to us. Great video Joey and Florant remembering the men who fought here, with the little footage and photographs captured just a small snap of the larger operation ongoing. As those men stood on the beech looking out at the carnage in the water and on the beach, unable to do anything to those they most likely heard screaming all morning is maybe reason the film does not mention any names. Is this for the fallen brothers on the beach that day? Who knew what really happened are unfortunately gone, is the sad part of a slightly unfinished moment of history. May we never forget the ultimate sacrifice they gave in our freedoms today stem from these first few moments forever young. The silence is deafening for those today who walk those streets.

This is one of the best videos seen from last blending into modern day Aachen. So much has passed since the noise with screams of silence in 1944 it’s deafening. The making of these videos is so important which Joey and Florant do together is brilliant. Keep up the work for the memories of the past sacrificed so much for us, needs to stay relevant in our lives today. May we never forget truly how much was lost forever, in these videos and pictures returned to remind us that the ghosts of the past are on our shoulders! This video is a masterpiece of the old and new, together for the very first time.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

To remember the one German who tried to save a life in all the horror, she remembers so clearly as a child then. To share the story this year so clearly what happened is remarkable trauma you never do forget. This is the remarkable part of trauma you need to be ready to speak of it in your own time as it is fragmented for months or years. It really seems this lady has not forgotten but knows speaking about it in our world in 2024 is needed. We live in such authoritarian times with over 70% of the world’s population living under dictatorship and despot regimes. None is about faith in any way as people are trying to stoke hate daily over, it’s about greed for themselves! Thank you Joey & Florant for the work put into extremely high content with the research into this crime. We must never forget or downplay ever on the millions murdered for hate of another human being.

I thought most of the footage from the main filmographers was thrown away on the boat back. Curious why everyone at 5.10 was standing around having a casual chat, chewing gum, while a couple of troops are coming ashore. The rest of the men just slowly walking around? Why only shoot a few seconds of combat footage, would have thought he could have tried for at least a few minutes instead of guys doing nothing.

Wonderful documentary. Could you kindly change the flag for Juno Beach that appears at the beginning of the film. It is of the Union Jack. Although Canada fought with and under the British, Juno beach was taken by Canadians entirely and thus should be acknowledged as such. As a proud former member of the Canadian Army, I sure would appreciate it. Ty

Great work Snafu Docs. I remember visiting Arnhem on a battlefield tour and seeing the location of Major General Fredrich Kussins death when he accidentally banged into a group of British paratroopers. The WW2 period photos would be too graphic for RU-vid then and now comparison but its well worth seeing if youre there for any WW2 related visit.

The clip where the soldiers are running onto the beach in the initial landing, the soldier that fell to the ground, shot and killed left such a horrible feeling in my gut. The photography is a huge testament and reminder of the horror these men endured. Americans, young, middle-aged, and old, need to watch these videos and KNOW that freedom has a huge price tag.
