not really abt baseball, but i know a 12 year old who with a march bday is 5'10 and for those of you wondering his parents are both 6ft why are yall still reading this at this point the youtube recommendations have stopped loading do something better with your time seriously i aint gonna do anything worth your time In the quaint village of Tempus Fugit, nestled between the relentless sea and the whispering woods, there lived an old clockmaker named Aeon. His shop, “The Eternal Tick,” was a marvel to behold, with clocks of every shape and size, each ticking in harmonious symphony. The villagers often said that time itself lived within those walls, bending to the will of the clockmaker’s skilled hands. Aeon was not only a master of his craft but also a keeper of secrets. He possessed a mysterious clock, unlike any other, known as the Paradox. It was said that this clock had the power to manipulate time, but with a cost that no one was willing to pay. One stormy night, as the rain played its rhythmic dance on the cobblestones, a stranger clad in a cloak of shadows entered the shop. His eyes, reflecting the flickering candlelight, were fixed upon the Paradox. “I seek the power to turn back time,” the stranger spoke, his voice as cold as the grave. “I have lost what is most dear to me, and I wish to correct my past mistakes.” Aeon, with a sigh that seemed to carry the weight of eternity, nodded solemnly. “The Paradox can grant your desire, but be warned, the fabric of time is delicate. To alter it may bring consequences unforeseen.” Undeterred, the stranger insisted, and so the clockmaker set the hands of the Paradox to a time long past. The air grew heavy, the tick-tock of the clocks melded into a deafening roar, and then silence. The stranger found himself in his own past, with the chance to right his wrongs. However, as he changed his actions, the world around him began to warp and twist. People he once knew vanished into thin air, buildings reshaped themselves, and the very history of Tempus Fugit unraveled like threads from a tapestry. He returned to “The Eternal Tick,” now a mere shadow of its former glory, with clocks silent and still. Aeon was nowhere to be found, and the Paradox’s hands were motionless. The stranger realized that in changing his past, he had disrupted the flow of time, erasing the moments that led to the creation of the Paradox itself. With a heavy heart, the stranger understood the true cost of his wish. He had sought to reclaim lost time, only to lose his place in it. As the realization dawned upon him, the village of Tempus Fugit faded away, leaving the stranger alone in the void, a timeless wanderer in an endless sea of what-ifs. And so, the tale of the clockmaker’s paradox serves as a reminder that time, once given, is a gift not to be reclaimed, for in its intricate dance, every second is precious and every moment is a treasure never to be taken for granted. I'm 15. Fit, and love baseball. I never started pitching until this year d4 in New Hampshire. I throw mid 60s and that's rather high in my division lol. Im not really a pitcher or built like one but i have good movement on curveball and changeup but can't find the zone consistently. There are no resources in NH to get good at baseball and to learn mechanics and the game. If I get training I feel like I can get somewhere especially with my bat. I have the work ethic. I always wanted to get somewhere in baseball.

I don’t pitch that much anymore due to a shoulder injury we are still trying to sort out, but I’ve been trying to fix my arm slot for the infield. I throw sidearm-ish, in the sense that my arm is dipping but I’m trying to fight it so it creates this weird arm action. I would be okay with this, if it didn’t cause me pain and if I wasn’t so inconsistent with it, I’ve tried what you’ve said for a while but it hasn’t seemed to change my slot at all. I don’t have that tight of hips, but I have always had problems using my lower half for throwing. All the drills I have tried for lower half throwing from other RU-vid coaches haven’t worked either. What can I do to fix both problems, as they seem to have a connection. Thank you! (I have a video on my channel that shows my arm slot)
@DanBlewett

see an in-person coach. Also, sidearm is usually the default for playing infield. I throw sidearm playing infield in slow pitch softball.

I like how you tried to put a spin on the worst rule in baseball. Rewarding a team for not being able to make a basic play. The infield fly should be; if the ball is dropped the fielding team loses the ability to force out a base runner. Normal play resumes on next dead ball situation. That would be an exciting ending to an infield fly. The second worst rule is that when there are two runners on a base, only one runner has the right to be on that base so the fielder can trick a runner by tagging the incorrect runner either leading to a zero out situation or a double play.

Coach, I'm 30yo I played baseball from 7yo coach pitch til 18 in highschool after high School never played again also, I was a pitcher and first baseman. My kids have started playing now and so I've started fooling around and I'm only touching 60mph. Kinda hurt my feelings lol. Any advice on someone who has played but not for a long time, I just want to throw hard again without hurting my elbow or shoulder

Hi Coach! I stumbled onto your videos and think they are great! I'm 64 years old and WAY too old to play. I never was a pitcher, but I find that part of the game so fascinating. Your videos really give me insight into how these pitches work and how to make the ball move. Pitching, in addition to being incredibly hard to get consistency, is a huge part of the cerebral attraction of baseball.

I know the theory of the balk, but it seems like the implementation of the balk is absolutely arbitrary. While there are some moves that are obvious, some aspects are just atrocious, and just another example of how watching modern baseball has become unwatchable.

rules are not arbitrary. and the balk rule is a necessary, important rule. I don't care if you find baseball watchable or not - that's your opinion. In summary: nope.

@@DanBlewett if you'll reread, I did not say the rule was arbitrary. Not only did I recognize the necessity of the rule, but I specifically questioned the implimentation. I have seen many, many balks called that even the announcers were head scratching. Now, if you want to rebut what I actually said, I'd be happy to take the time to research specific examples. I find it interesting that you seem offended that I find the current state of the game unwatchable. I didn't contradict you at all, nor did I say anything directly about you. /shrug.

I’m a first year umpire and I didn’t know rule 4 that you cannot pick off an unoccupied base. This past weekend I had a RHP make what you called an “inside move” I’ve also heard it called a spin move (the typical move used when picking off second) but regardless it was on a runner who was leaving first and he was on his way to steal second. The batting team’s coach jumped in the middle of my partner and I for not calling a balk. Is that move legal because the runner was stealing second? Or were we wrong for not calling a balk?

@@DanBlewett why not? It's the most fair to both sides. It still forces the fielders to make the catch or risk the batter reaching the base.

My son got hit on helmet while batting. I did some research and found that most helmets are rated at 65mph. Rawlings makes a helmet rated at 95mph and and another rated I think 100mph. We bought the 95. Just a heads up (mind the pun) nowadays 65 mph after the age of 14 is almost outdated.

In Little League cups are mandatory at the catcher position and also the throat guard. In our league we had all players wear faceguards on their helmets for 20 years and they hit the ball just fine. They changed it to only 9/10-year-olds and new players, which our league consists of 9 thru 12-year-olds. We had had probably 3 players in the last 3 years get hit in the face and its not a pretty sight. As a Coach i tell my parents about the heart guards which i recommend. If it would prevent a child from dying or going into cardiac arrest an save a life i am all for it. I understand their kids and we can only protect them so much. But 30 lives in a year is 30 to many if a heart guard would save them. As far as the sliding mitt in Little League there is no headfirst sliding permitted only if you're going back into the bag so i feel it is more for show. I tell my players The safer you feel the more comfortable you'll be on the playing field.

Timing is a bigger deal once their form is set and strikes are thrown. I coach an 11u team. My #2 pitcher is wild at times. He clocked at 62mph. My 11yo is my #1. Younger, nqo puberty. He thows mid 50s, but with placement and constant velocity changes with slight movement easily mows through batters.
