I'm just a small time angler on the southeast coast starting fishing vlog that shows my outdoor adventures. I wanted to create a vlog that was honest to my fishing trips and not just a highlight reel of the fish I catch so there is touch of comedy in it all with my typical blunders. Hope you enjoy my outdoor endeavors and feel free to subscribe if you want to stay updated on any new videos!
You make it look way too easy man! I've wanted to kayak fish coastal GA for a while now. I'm thinking of staying more inland. Would you say its best for a beginner to drop the kayak two to three hours before lowest tide and fish two to three hours before the highest tide? I read that somewhere. Reason I ask is that also see a lot of fishing videos where guys fish Brunswick in lower tide but looks like you went in when the water was high. Any insight would be helpful :D Awesome channel brother! Keep up the work.
Man, your vidoes inspirs me. Im an up and coming fisherman that just moves to the area and have had no luck. What river is this, and is it nearer to the islands or mkre inland. IM aboit to just give up
Don't give up! The best thing about fishing is being rewarded for the patience it takes to catch one, keep at it my friend and the fish will come. It's the buffalo river, little bit further south Brunswick.
You're videos are awesome! How strong are the tides that far up/back? I go to Jekyll every year (twice this year, Sept & Oct), and bring my Hobie and fish the tidal creeks, mostly. The tides are no joke around there! I've yet to fish off the island but have been thinking about it, especially these upcoming trips.
Tides can differ depending on how further you go inshore, they aren't too shabby if you're used to it, just keep an eye on the moon, charts, and the wind. I always tell people to stay in your comfort zone for safety reasons, I've certainly pushed myself into some bad situations haha
@@fishinnpickin6401 Definitely used to them and yes, I've been in some hairy situations out there too! Of course, I'll be there for the full moon in Sept & Oct, and it looks like Oct will be a flood tide. That will make surf fishing for bulls tough, much less going out in the 'yak. Thanks for the update
Use Google Maps or Earth, Brunswick isn't that big... Also, looks like a private community, with a guard station at the entrance, so I don't know if just anyone can go there.
So I went out from Village creek landing. Tried it out, since I’ve seen your videos. The low tide got me and my homie bad. 😂😂, we had no idea. We’re from the ATL area
dang man I hate to hear that! I suppose I should put a disclaimer for that haha, its definitely a place you need to time your in and outs due to the tide, if it makes you feel better ive been stuck a few times and I know better
@@fishinnpickin6401 I plan on going back. We had A good time out there, but I will definitely wait until it gets cooler. It was brutal once the sun came out
I stay on and fish Jekyll every year. I have a large float, for a crab trap (I think), that I keep on the end of my anchor line. Anytime I hook into something large, I release my anchor and toss my line in the water. I just let the fish pull me around. I've caught two blacktips, one a little over 4' and the other was close to five that way.
@@fishinnpickin6401 I've wanted to toss through there but the current on the turtle River was pretty crazy when we were out there last week and we decided against it. Keep the videos coming! Really been enjoying it and they've been an inspiration to keep fishing the GA coast instead of driving all the way to FL every time we want to go fishing. Love the vibe you've got 🤙 we'll have to link up sometime
@@tmonnmiles thank you very much! I’m tryin my best to find my time to put videos out consistently, it’s a struggle haha. It’s a great area to fish but always use your best judgement, there’s a lot of hidden pilings that are really sharp and do some damage if you can’t see them
Glad to see your back making videos! I usually fish McIntosh and Darien area but I live in nahunta, so Brunswick is WAY closer. If you ever are looking for a fishing partner, I am too for Brunswick. I got a 16ft Carolina skiff and I want to learn some new areas closer to home. I understand finding time to even go. But if you ever get bored let me know how I can get ahold of ya dude!
Nice to see you fishing st Simon’s, I am going to start fishing from my kayak soon around st Simon’s and hope to have the same luck as you. Btw nice canoe skiff thingy.
Probably about a year ago, its a cool vessel but if its too windy its a tough one to take out. So its few and far between lately that my day off lined up with a day that wasn't too windy to take her out.
Typically between 2/0 or 3/0. If I’m fishing more so around structure I use the 2/0 for to help out in maybe catching sheepshead, but fishing creek mouths or anything I go for a 3/0 to aim more towards redfish and trout
You mentioned getting tangled using popping corks. If anyone else is struggling with that, I’ve had much less tangles by adding a couple feet of mono leader before the cork instead of tying braid directly to the popping cork.
FishinN'pickin, we should connect. I can help get you some footage when you go out, in exchange you help a brother learn how to fish lol. I have a jetski rigged to fish, and a drone.
Solid vids man I’ve lived in the area about 2 years and just picked up a kayak and want to try some bridge fishing, if you ever want some company kayak fishing I’d be down!
Me and my buddy are coming down this weekend we will be getting there late Friday night and want to be on the water early Saturday morning where is the best bait shop that opens early Saturday morning?
What's up man I enjoyed watching your videos and I've been thinking about getting a skiff I see it's a boat ramp over there by over there by Summer Waves on on the map I was wondering is that a good spot to start and thanks for all the good fishing tips keep doing your thing brother
There’s a ramp on jekyll, one under Sydney Lanier, Blythe, and village creek. Those are all pretty easy breezy ramps to launch from, village creek you just have to make sure you don’t go at low tide or there will be no water haha
there's a ramp under the Sydney Lanier, one on Blythe, and maybe could be worth checkin out the docks by the marina downtown. Not sure how private they are but if you were to have access to one it would be a nice spot to drop out from and fish out of!
