It's not bad advice but you should warn new players that pacts will EAT UP their meager influence. Many new players just contract pacts thinking nothing of it and are baffled as to why they can't expand anymore.
This is why I always play robots. Dealing with happiness is dumb. I just need cold heartless murder machines ready to do everything I need them to do without restrictions. And since my pops don't have feelings, the AI empires can't judge me based on how I treat my pops.
I don't mind the army work, even now that we have different toys to play with, allegedly new army recruiter helped a lot in that regard, but I still need a meaningful rework on factions
Now, someone new to the game may accidentally think this from the perspective of the bad guys. No, these are the good guys, who had seventeen of their systems claimed by a neighbor accidentally parked their planet buster over that neighbor’s capitol world.
Recently, I had a feeling that AIs ethics had a very small influence in opinion (ethics that give personality of Democratic Crusaders gave the most opinion boost/loss but that was based on my govt type)
Keep the armies! Just expand them from basic bean counting. The history of science fiction is littered with alien invasions and resistance. This is the undiscovered country for Stellaris.
I wish spy activity and other operations were much more prominent in game play for both players and AI. For starters. Separate deplomats from spy operation. And give each empire dedicated spy characters. So that we and the ai can do spying and Deplomacy at the same time. And not have to focus on one or the other.
You can assign an envoy to affect relations with an empire while also having a spy network active on them, so you can use diplomacy and espionage at the same time.
@@henryhunter9643 for 1 empire. I want to do that to 3 or 5. No make that 10 empires. Now currently we basicly get 3 envoys. We can have 2 make friends and another do spying. But that’s a big problem. By default settings. I have 9 other AI empires. 1 to 2 marauders empires and 2 fallen empires. Not including when empires split in half or more. There is no space for espionage, when you haft to make a choise to make friends or choose to spy. Most players think spy networks are a joke. And Basicly ignor that game feature.
@@Gibson7Clans you do realise that you can recall your envoys once you have other diplomatic agreements with the AI as those will passively increase opinion and trust, right? And the fact you have limited envoys means you're expected to use them wisely, like any other resource. You're also acting like it isn't possible to get loads of envoys. Most games I have around 15 of them. Also it's not 'most players'. Whenever anyone says that, it's always them hoping their echo chamber is bigger than it is.
