What you said about Gretchen makes plenty of sense; she doesn’t say it with ill intent, to her it’s just a part of her vocabulary. I will hold the people around her accountable, but at some point you have to think for yourself. A lot of us have the opportunity to educate ourselves, and to unlearn behaviours that are toxic or harmful to others. She has those resources available at her fingertips (the internet, money). She 100% has the time and resources to educate herself and work on herself - she just chooses not to. As much as I’ll hold her people accountable , she KNOWS what she’s saying is wrong - regardless of her intentions. She knows what she’s saying offends / hurts the black people around her, but continues. Maybe the first time she could’ve used the ‘I don’t know’ excuse, but I think every other time she was just saying it to offend and annoy everyone. She shouldn’t even still be on the show, and should go crack a book open and learn about America’s history and the history of that word.

Ahh man you disappointed me baby. Let me make this as simple as possible. Saying the n word with no consequences is preserved for black people who have the black experience. When somebody looks at you and they have to question if you are black or not, you cannot say it.
