Brilliant. I have a 2005 JDM EJ207 arriving from Japan in a few weeks and was wondering about doing something like this to make it a bit more functional. Looks like a fantastic upgrade!
I whole heartedly agree with your thought process - well done!!! I am getting a JDM spec 2005 Hawkeye STi from Japan shipped to Australia in a few weeks. Looks pretty stock and can't wait.
I installed it. I have 2 issues: the air bag is giving me an error. And the rear speakers are not working. There are some 5 connections from the tundra that don’t fit anywhere in the unit. Can someone please help?
@@RoadPatina yes, it is that bog box. i took it form the other set of cables and put it into the correct one. the air bag issue was resovled after i restarted the vehicle. the issue with the speakers still remains. it seems is a common problem. Also, i use a USB port to listen to my MP3s which im unable now to find this source in the unit. IS there a place where i can choose the usb port?
Just installed and the main issue that might be a deal breaker is can’t figure out how to get the front door speakers to work also the eq doesn’t function normal . Only the front settings changes anything . If I mute front all speakers mute anything else does nothing
I have a 2013, I'm thinking about getting one. I know its a slightly different model, but I'm wondering if the regular FM Radio still works well. Thanks.
@@RoadPatinahe basically told me I'll give you 70 bucks get a professional to install it 😂 and then ghosted me now ali express is going to make the decision
Just left the local dealership yesterday. Went in for just an oil change. 4 and a half hours later. Oil change is not done. My 2017 Tundra has 32k miles. They said that I need a new battery. $328. New pads, rotors and calipers, new front struts, rear shocks, TMPD sensors all around , cabin filter, and air filer. Grand total!!! $4384.00. Told them to stick it. My oil change cost me $148. Acton TOYOTA, OF Littleton MASS. Never have I heard such BS!!!
Toyota seriously failed on this hole Fog Light mounting system. The TRD Pro fog are even worse since the bumper end itself is also plastic. Just fucking garbage. I have cable ties all over my Rigid TRD Pro fogs and they still shake.
I’m happy I found your page man. I thought I was the only one that feel like they’re regressing every month. It’s motivating seeing someone else have difficulties with their swap
They don't show it but I learned you have to secure the ground wire. My unit would randomly shut off anywhere between 2 to 5 times on a 25 minuter ride to work. Once I secured the ground wire my unit is working just fine. I have a 2017 Toyota Tundra and I had talked to dasaita's customer service never once did they say secure it. They keep saying it was a software issue and to keep downloading and uploading the same update. I secured the ground to one of the mounting screws that hold the unit in the dash. I hope this is helpful for those having the same issues as I did with this unit.
There microphones are not too great. The company called Enfig makes them to fit in factory Toyota Mic slot. Oh and you have to get the 3.5mm adapter from Dasatia
Stock rims with 6in lift will look like you skipped leg day. They really limit tire size you can run. Stock offset is high. Wheels with 0mm to +25mm is a good start.
Nova Launcher in app store will allow you to completely customize your look. i.e. adding widgets and stuff. If you run android auto wirelessly, you can't hotspot your phone. but tons of room to add music or run Spotify as an app. also i found the on-screen mic better than the wired on personally. i also installed a 2tb hard drive to store movies, music and backcountry maps. oh, and you can delete onboard map system, install whatever app you use and change the physical map button to desired app. I love this unit great choice Imo.
Did you try the other yellow plug for reverse camera? There are two. What harness did you use? Mine came with two. I had to switch the CANbus box to the other harness to install.
I struggled until I realized I had to swap the CANBUS over to the harness I needed - came installed on the other one. I don’t think the instructions were very clear about that. After getting it wired correctly and installed I LOVE IT
@gregorypatrickday the canbus was the issue. Unfortunately after it started working it lost sound. I returned it today. I guess I will stick with the factory one.
DON'T TOUCH the rear window tint. No matter how much you heat it up, you WILL destroy the defroster lines. You've been warned. 💀 lucky you. so that is what my 2019 wrx will look like in 16 years.... interesting
@@RoadPatina possibly the truest statement ever made about the classics 😂 I cant count how many times ive gone to look at one just because I need carpet and door panels
Sick man i have a silver coupe. Whatever u paid u got a great bonus package with all rhe goodies, rims, extra parts, seats are like 2500 by istelf due to great condition.
