This channel is mainly about bushcraft and the great outdoors. I enjoy spending time outdoors entwining with nature & reconnecting with myself. I practice all forms of fire lighting and survival techniques and spend time in the woods wild camping.
I'm getting one of these soon. I just can't afford to pay my flat rent and bills and i refuse to work 50 plus hours just to scrape by month by month so I'm going to disappear and live off the land somewhere. Will be an adventure thats for sure. Great video mate 👍🏻
Great stove bought one today...your review convinced me...i bought the double pipe and winnerwell flashing kit for it just to be on the safe side as i am installing in my bell tent ...with a monixide alarm of course...Thanks again and i enjoyed your video.
Had one when I was a teenager....the other day, took my air bottle to be filled up in a gunsmiths near me in kent...the gunsmith had one in his workshop for parts....asked him if it was for sale....he said 95 quid, its worth more to me in parts, but if you want it then 95...snatched his hand off...wants some tlc....but third riffle ive brought to do up....hw35,webley service mk2 and a old pre-war bsa standard pattern....I'm 56 and enjoying a hobby ive only recently come back to....air gun hunting, love it.....oh and I found a webley hurricane for 20 squid, just wants a new front shroud lol
@@BushwackerMan hello my friend, I hope you're right. I currently only drink distilled water from my family sized and really cheap unit but it costs a pound a day to run .my trouble is I'm intrigued as to how this unit can extract heavy 🪨 by osmosis.give you an example. A common willow can extract heavy 🪨 from contaminated soil .there's no doubts about that but it of course ends up full of the heavy 🪨 and ultimately dies . I was under the impression that you can only get rid of them by distillation. Am I wrong about this Cheers and Arrrrrr from Scotlands pirate dredger
Filtering out bacteria isn't hard, viruses are more difficult but achievable. Chemicals are a major problem. Even distillation wont Get rid of all of them.
Water for me is definitely number one priority. I don't even trust Thames Water after I distilled just four litres out of the tap...the pasty gunk left behind was horrific. I use the Lifesaver jerrycan, but think reverse osmosis is the way forward. Was it very slow flowing, yes...but if it worked fast, you'd have reason to be concerned at how effective it was. Just out of interest buddy...does it do salt water and does it have a carbon filter too? Also something that's very concerning in nature ponds in Chislehurst is the blue slgae that has made dogs very ill indeed...this pump at such a high level of purification is a game changer in situations like that. I drink up to six litres of water daily, so am well practiced in purification and am very tempted to add this to my arsenal. Big thumbs up from me and good to see you back 👍
Hiya keep up the good work just come across your channel again I was watching years ago when you first started but it said I wasn't subscribed for some reason I've been wondering why I haven't being getting your notifications can't remember if you own this land So I got a lot of content to catch up with😂
Had giardia for 9 months. Doctors couldn't diagnose it in Oklahoma... finally found a Dr that tested for parasite. Wish I had that kind of filter years ago.
Seeing if you get sick after drinking filtered water is an invalid test. There could be micro doses of many thousands of chemicals still in the water, many of which become toxic after repeated ingestion.
I used to have a water filtration system, as I was travelling to Wales and Scotland... However I used to carry enough bought water that I did not have to use it and never used it. I recently lent my camping stuff to my younger sister, and most of the things she either lost it or stored in a places she is unable to find it. I pretty much would have to buy new camping stuff as most of the stuff is gone and the only that is left is bag and tent, nothing else :P
Great, honest “heart felt” review. Great to listen to what is clearly a genuine review. Not a regular junk review from someone who is totally clueless……. But has been paid for review or given a load of free kit. Nice. Love the vid. You could teach others a thing…… or fifty!
My dream is to bikepack around the US. Stealth camping will be a must, but there is so much land here. I bet it will be no problem finding secluded areas that are not traveled.. I need to prepare as time goes on. Maybe I find an area that I want to live where no one is at all. My food would ideally be fish and a garden plus whatever wild food I can find. I don't want to kill, but I will kill a fish if I need food. I'd eat a snake too just because I don't like them. 😆 But for winter, maybe I need to learn how to preserve meat and hunt a deer for the season. Lots of jerky, perhaps. Maybe birds would also be a good idea.
Had a chance to get a like new m1950 arctic tent the 5 man one for $500 us. Passed on it kinda pissed I did. Guy was selling it with wood stove too. Got a small 2 man shelter half tent but wanted the bigger tent to use a cot. And keep small tent for patrolling. I can also put the shelter half tent up on the back of the pickup.
This took some time to discover after making bread in frypan, grilling bread etc. Get a generic pot lid for your iron pan, now it is an Owen on low heat. You can make the best best bread this way. I have made pizza, chocolate cake, steamed veggies. All kinds of stuff. You can get these steel lids at large super markets with kitchen supplies
It would be nice to go camping for a year but who can afford to take a whole year off work? Only wealthy people can afford such a luxury. Well done on achieving the dream.
Not sure if someone already commented on this. Instead of painting the ferro rod top orange and ruin the look of it, just put an orange paracord lanyard instead of that black one.
