Reading Through History was set up by a group of western Oklahoma social studies teachers. Our purpose is to create meaningful content that combines the subjects of reading and history, thus promoting social studies through reading. Here on RU-vid, we are slowly adding videos to document the history of the United States.

Apparently, there were only three black people in the 1950s, too! Not with families, or anything like that. Just in their rightful place as ball players and musicians! 😳
Can you all imagine how insufferable people like this must be, just waking up in the morning looking for something to be offended by. Wouldn't you get more mileage out of complaining about how black people in the 1950s were too poor to afford cameras and that is why pictures of black families in the 1950s are a bit difficult to find? If they were 10% of the US population in 1950, exactly how many photos are enough to avoid the complaints? Get to counting.
I love your videos so much ❤ I'm a big history buff and a study geek so I always watch ur vids and study the topics? ❤ Thank you so much for making these videos! ❤

Reference of the South Carolina Nullification and the Texas Revolution: The sympathy which exists in behalf of Texas at the south, looks to other objects than the mere defence of that country. Texas is desired as an appendage to the strength of the south. They wish it annexed to the union, that the balance of power may still be found on the feeble side of • Mason and Dixon's line: Once let the cry for succor be rung through the land and the annexation of Texas they imagine will be as easy as it is desirable. So reasons the south. Let the north reason otherwise. The Texians are not deserving of aid or sympathy The invasion of that country by Santa Anna, is not unprovoked but It is in a great measure justified, in retaliation for the Santa Fe expedition, which had for its avowed purpose the subjugation and pillage of Mexico. The Texians have provoked the assault, and now they must abide the consequences, unless a fool-hardy and absurd idea prevails, that we must succor these men, because Texas affords a refuge for outlaws and desperadoes for the whole continent of North America! Texas at all hazards, union or no union, must be had to be kept out! The Texas lot was the most bare faced high handed outraged ever recorded on the page of history, to which there is no legal or moral justification, and has no resemblance to anything we know of, save South Carolina nullification! -Phila. Robin Hood was the inspiration for central planned economy structure of Communism. The subtle difference in taking from the rich and giving to the poor was the intervention from the state controlling middle men taking their 90% cut.
Scopes was the principal and football coach at the school. One morning, Scopes substituted for the biology teacher and read from a book called Civic Biology, which includes statements that humans had descended from a lower form of animal and could be improved through selective breeding and eugenics. That violated Tennessee's Butler Act, the brainchild of the Governor's wife who admired William Jennings Bryan. This was 1925, and over in Europe, in Germany, there was a group who agreed with the book, Civic Biology, and advocated improving the human species through such measures therein. They called themselves the National Socialist (odd name for a right-wing group) German Workers Party, or Nazi's as they became known a few years later. They brought improving humans through eugenics and selective breeding to spectacular new heights, as many learned to their sorrow. Maybe the Tennessee "hillbillies" weren't so dumb after all.
The 80s seemed like a very exciting time to experience everything new that was coming out. Seems like the 80s , 90s , 2000s where the peak of humanity 😢
Thank you for stating political parties are not in the US Constitution. As a lifelong non-party voter I'm frustrated with the idea that we only have two choices and that the presidential race is the only one that matters. We must have a well balanced set of people in Congress, the Senate, and in the Executive branch to prevent the US Presidency from becoming a mouthpiece of an oligarchy or the head of a dictatorship.
Communism is a theory developed by people who consider themselves anything but the equals of their peers. You might say that Communism was developed using capitalism, in much the same way that cancer is developed using healthy tissue. It is impossible to impose Communism on any group without the use of force, because it's not in our basic nature. Ubiquitous things about being human are such things as survival instinct, eating, breathing, mating, etc. There is no need to compel people to do these things. It is NOT ubiquitous or automatic for humans to want to distribute the fruits of their labor over an entire nation. This must be accomplished through inequality-either by force, or by a complete overhaul of what it means to be human.
You talk so slow and boring that i could't resist to listen more than 41 seconds. Your voice, accent and the way you talk it just hurts mate. Is like dragging my balls on shattered glass. And You have that american accent too....Damn...
Reasons why the 80’s was also the highest rate of sexual crimes. Many single mothers unsafe without a man at home. Another reason the 80’s had people like Jeffrey dahmer & Ted bundy getting caught. Wayne gacy. List goes on. 80’s also holds highest record of rape cases recorded. So the 80’s wasent always soo great lol
