A very “woke” slant on the events and of Wilson, while making no mention of achievements

Try watching the rest of the series. The title of this video is literally "Wilson, Civil Rights, and the End of Progressivism"

I used to think how awful the Birth of a Nation movie was...until decades later when I read first hand accounts of Reconstruction and found it was extremely accurate. I also used to think that the Republican party was a heroic conservative party...until I found out that the original Radical Republican party was filled with numerous Communists such as August Willich and Joseph Weydemeyer.

@@kidofflint8812 yeah, this opinion is like the worst take. Hopefully you can see the world around you right now, and can see the true cause. Edit: I was saying the op had a bad take, not Kid of Flint

@@hyphen8d725 I’ve been studying reconstruction for about 2 years now and what that bumbling Fool said was wrong reconstruction had the potential to succeed but many businessman and former plantation owners refuse to let it pass literally by 1875 the power of the radical Republicans was gone many of their leaders had either die or been voted out . And as for birth of a nation it’s the other way around not only did the klan attack black people and keep them from the polls but, also white people as well in 1868 they killed a radical Republican judge George Ashburne in Georgia , then they killed James M Hinds a senator from Arkansas on the night of the 1868 election

@@hyphen8d725 also I may have made a error Hinds was a congressman not senator

@@kidofflint8812 Dang, that's depressing. Then they also manufactured the red scare and McCarthyism to make sure no one could campaign for workers rights
