I feel like it should be worth mentioning that the Poleman's sprint attack applies to all weapons in the game, not just the ones he spawns with. Meaning that if you can source a greatsword off a dead enemy (or ally), you can initiate combat with a chunky 75 or 81 damage and have a very capable weapon for 1v1 combat. Stealing a Warhammer and using the footman sprint attack on Poleman also basically deletes knights and other footmen too.
The weapon system is confusing, when I select a certain weapon for my knight of footman it doesn’t have that weapon in game. There’s no reassurance as to what weapon(s) you’re carrying.
By the way food for though if you wish to become the best player at chiv you need superb movement that means 24 dimensional movement generally speaking you want to be able to look where ever while moving however i recommend getting og at console before you hold a azeron on pc for defense so you can know every pathway to stamina conservation untill your ready to feint mixups and learn new things that way eventually one day one move at a time it will all become second nature azeron hit from direction input dash to get your speed equivolated to your mixups once you dont need it then take input from direction off console will naturally make you flourish mixup in battle without aching your finger but so will the azeron dont forget to flourish spin spin spin spin its not wise to be predictable only gain XP. Go VANGUARD
The vanguard I believe is the most powerful do to it's dash 2 weapons and weapons less effective to the class since it has less armor you can heal after the warhammer
Also master the messer and wreck with the Dane axe so you can kill multiple multiple people when picking up weapons anything familiar to the axes you'll have experience with them and longsword isn't effective in one x situations plus if you feel like your in a chess match just grab there agro with the knight until it's time to shed the armor and smack them all with your stamina plus grabbing your second weapon throwing it at archers and rushing with your shield man at arms
They should def rework the classes a bit (maybe in Chivalry 3?) I know Archers can swing their bow, can they block? No right? They should, nerf archer in other ways (maybe arrows can be blocked but your timing or aim has to be more precise to block) and buff them by turning their bow into a proper melee weapon with a decent damage profile, then you can eventually add a new bow that has crappier arrows but better melee potential Maybe a poison tipped arrow class type too where they can poison their own arrows and swords, which is just small ticks of damage overtime (maybe other classes can also poison tip their own weapons by smearing them in dung around the map lol) This would be similar to fire arrows where it’s an ability that you charge over time Anyways I really hate oil pot and throwable sim general on console, pressing both bumpers at the same time sucks, half of the time I accidentally stab or overhead…
Interesting ideas. Arrows can actually be countered but takes very precise timing. The crossbow has two basic attacks. You can't block with any of the bows but it would be a good addition. Short and long bows could break once after blocking while crossbows give you two blocks before breaking.
That is the reason why they changed it so much in Chivalry 2, Back in chivalry 1 there was the as I call it competitive players and the casuals. Even though people like to call it ballerina, exploiter, sweatlord what not there was indeed a skill.. but some weapons where bugged or easier too exploit with in Chiv1 for sure. I did play in tournaments in Chiv1, sword of war with Combo feint to parry was a thing and people macro'd this for a long time. You could swing > go into that parry fast so you don't get gambled or hit. I did enjoy Chiv1 more because it offered much more skill than Chiv2 or Mordhau can ever offer, but that's my opinion. But there was the normal players or people who play for fun, they disliked this mechanic and if a dude went 102 kills in a game because of these assets than the forum would get spammed by screenshots or clips, people complaining and the devs choose the option too make Chiv2 enjoyable more for the fun players. It is even cross platform now so you can't just make the same mechanics anymore because a mouse will drag out a controller anyday. Mordhau in the other hand took a lot from Chiv1, but less buggy or exploity.. more feint/drag mechanics and Mordhau was officially more of a skirmish / duel game. What do I like from mordhau and chiv1? the archer playstyle, feels smoother to me (heavy xbow in chiv1 was cancer though) but beside the point, Chiv2 makes things a lot easier and I see the concept. Just wish archery was a bit better but melee is favoured.
Yeesh this was so rambly and poorly paced. You repeat yourself like 6 times to unlock the war bow. Barely give any real advice or strategy beyond "unlock war bow by farming points". Maybe give aiming advice, secondary weapon advice, literally anything really actually useful or beyond surface level. Other youtubers cover these classes so much more in depth
I was going Knight for a long time, Then when i tried Vanguard, Vanguard became my favourite, of course when i first played Chivalry 2, i naturally started with the Knight class, i will always honor the Knight class, but Vanguard expresses me more and better.
"Hopefully they will make arrows more reliable so they will actually hit their targets." Yeah... no, they didn't, and they won't. The collision detection in this game has been total shit since day one, and they will never make it better.
