thanks for the vid man without this i never woulda been able to take my bumper off 😭😭 i got a 88 sedan dx shits mint except for the bumper paint so im doing that rn
Hey man, I commented on one of your videos before, but I must have accidentally removed it. I really appreciate the work you put into these videos to share with people like me who have one of these beautiful machines. Keep it up, I really hope to see more of you :)
to get the whole motor out, you do... The fan is bolted to the motor, and the hole is only the size of the shaft. It wasnt super difficult, though. Did you remove the cover? you can remove the brush cover as shown in the video to inspect the motor.
@kolaa5071 the glove box and brackets have to come out, and the bottom right bolt on the dash.. i removed the whole box with out taking the dash out but it was tight (with an AC car) No AC is a lot easier.
Hey! thanks for the reply. The fuel pump is now swapped, and i gotta swap at least the plug wires before checking the timing.... the damn thing shocks me every time i touch the dizzy lol. wires were brand new, too.. I plan to take appart the starter and clean it up.. poor thing's been through hell and now it's had an oil bath, too.
Its not too hard! i may do it just for a video, if a friend of mine wants to help to film. It took about 4 hours and i was taking it easy, but that was before i started doing repair videos.. do you have a hoist, or at least a fair ammount of tools?
I have the same car. I didn’t really know until now, that you could just take out the speedometer cable. I’ve had trouble removing those 3 hoses going into the transmission. How exactly did you pull out the speedometer cable, did you just pull it?
Got the dash cover off Rock Auto lol. I gotta get one for the Ford, keep the dash mint.. i appreciate the comment! im actually workin on the truck as i write this :)
I love this truck! Curious if it's all original? All the old Ford dually trucks I've seen have full wide fenders on the bed, but I like how yours is all tucked under with just the smaller fender flares.
Its been changed, these never came with duallys, only super wide rear tires. Legend has it that the Ford dealer at the time did it..but im not sure how accurate that is. I do know that all the trim and badges and stuff are OEM, but the years vary.. ither way, its unique and mostly made of original equipment
It hasnt been on the road in 30 years.. which means it only drove about 16 years. so the body is that of a 16 yr old truck, but the mechanics are that of a vehicle parked in a field for 30 years..lol
