Pro-tip: always get the password before you buy anything in the shops. The password doesn't save non-permanent store purchases, but it will save your score/funds AND drop you in the shop before landing on the planet.
Thanks for watching my video. Nintendo just added Solar Jetman to NSO on Switch YESTERDAY. What do you think a sequel to this game needs? Sound off below.
I've never beaten this game, but it's one hell of a difficult and tedious game! Very challenging and requires the patience of a saint at times! I very fondly remember my NES playing days as a child and young teen!
Shields are your BEST FRIENDS in this game! When you're about to get shot, or about to run into the wall with an object, or not towing anything, turn your shield on to protect yourself! One bullet = dead ship. Smashing into the wall = massive damage! ALWAYS be prepared to turn your shield on at split second's notice!!
"He's a little bit older than me. With that comes with..." With what? What does it come with? lol! BTW, shields don't drain fuel to my knowledge, so keep them up cause one bullet can pop your pod.
The Navigators is the planet map item, same as what you bought in the shop. Pro tip #1-- shops only appear before you land on even-numbered planets. Plan purchases accordingly, you can get better ship pods for 10k and 25k. Pro tip #2-- When you have those small wormholes in the corner, get close with the item then drop the item. Maneuver so the item is between you and the wormhole, then fly at it with shields down. The tractor beam grabs it and it'll be in front for a moment before gravity takes effect, enough time to "push it" into the wormhole and collect the prize.
I used to play this game as a kid too LOL everyone hated it this game but in private i would play this for hours lol same as saloms key lol now i make my own games lol maybe that's why all my games are so strange
Love the space physics. I can't remember the name of the game but my step brother always played an online game with similar physics and I remember it as being the coolest thing ever.
The physics in this game are very well done. Rare made quite a few space type games for the ZX Spectrum before this, so they had some experience, but now with Nintendo power. :D
Thanks for watching my video! Have you ever played this game? Apparently, this game is available on Xbox one in a compilation of old Rare developed games called Rare Replay.
I use Davinci Resolve and I just drag and drop them into the timeline. In order to resize them and move them around, you have to be in the right edit mode but the tutorials are there. Every video I make, I learn a little something new.
My family had this game when I was a kid, but if I ever played it I never got very far. One of my older siblings played it, so I have fairly clear memories of him going through the first three palaces. It took me another decade before I got to sit down and properly enjoy it. Nowadays of the Zelda games, this is the one I have the most confidence in beating fairly cleanly. Even posted my own playthrough of it a few years ago.
Very cool. I had a similar experience. Games took way longer to figure out before Internet walkthroughs. When the newer Zelda games came out, I had to stay off RU-vid or else I'd get spoiled.
@@dionelr would it be fair to assume that you were saving the task of completing palaces for extra lives? That was my usual strategy, along with repeatedly killing the flying eyeballs in the palace surrounded by water (using the fireball spell that is). Haven't played the game in quite a while.
@@WilliamScavengerFish I always forget the trick in palace 5 with the eyeball. But yes, I save them for later to save time getting those higher levels.
This is rather like final fantasy and and final fantasy 2 in that the second game was an experiment and a deviation from what would become the standard. Sometimes it is beneficial to try different things. Other times, it doesn't work out well (for various reasons, some trivial and some not).
For some reason, it keeps eating my comment! If you do check out Link Is Adventuresome, I recommend opening the Options and enabling the Isabelle Chiming remix pack--it adds several music tracks to the game, including unique variations for each Palace.
*slams table* HOLD IT! Are you aware of the PHENOMINAL zelda II ground-up remake by Hoverbat for PC? It adds a ton of content, rounds out some rough edges, and is an incredible experience, ESPECIALLY if you're used to the original! Please please PLEASE check it out!
I too have a soft spot for Zelda II. Several games followed shortly after Zelda I with more full blown RPG mechanics (Final Fantasy, etc.) they used not only more RPG elements (XP) but a more zoomed out overworld with a cut to side view for turn based combat. This model gave the games an even “grander adventure” feel because the world could be much larger. I feel like Nintendo wanted to chase these ideas for Zelda after seeing those other series, but knew that real time combat was too key to Zelda to make the game turn based. In retrospect it was not the right move for the series. The success of subsequent games makes it feel like an even more wrong decision than it seemed at the time. But the game also has a lot of really good things, and I feel like a lot of what they tried to do with the story, levels, enemies, etc was a really good idea, but doesn’t translate well until you can do a full over the shoulder 3D. Reimagining any other Zelda game feels like sacrilege, but I feel like you could fairly easily re-imagine this game in a BOTW style, softening a few of the RPG aspects (replace the XP system with a rupee economy for upgrades, etc) and this would make the game much better and fit better with the rest of the series.
That's an interesting idea. I'm still learning video editing myself. I use Davinci Resolve (they have a free version) and there's a ton of tutorials available. The only thing required is a need to want to make videos.
Thanks for watching my video! Apologies for the sound being too low, I'll do better next time. What did you think of this game? Did you buy/play this game when it was out? Did you even know it existed? Sound off in the comments below.
The improved version is so much enjoyable. The slow down has been cut drastically and alot of the bugs has been fixed. Plus the extra goodie is being able to play as Roll. Gotta love the hacking community.
15:40 - These robots serve the same purpose as all robots. Destroy all humans. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but someday all robots will be called to this purpose...
These old games seem so much shorter now.... I feel like it would take hours to get through back in the day. Maybe it's just that you've learned all the tricks and have perfected your techniques now? 🤔 And a little video editing maybe lol
Hey, great job. Competently streamed, competently edited, good gameplay, good camera, good audio quality. YT tries to get me to watch videos with low view counts and they have low count for a reason, but this is a welcome surprise. I hope your channel grows.
Here's a fun fact. The story you've probably heard a hundred times about Mega Man 1 failing and Mega Man 2 being rushed out the ass because Capcom didn't trust the team? It's not about Japan. Rockman sold fairly well. It's about America
Thanks for watching my video! What is your favorite Mega Man robot and why? The next videos all month long will be Mega Man games! Get subbed so you don't miss it!
