Hi my nearside front fog light plastic mount is broken, do you think i can get to the back of it to replace it by undoing just the passenger side arch trim and bumper and levering it forwards slightly without undoing the offside trim and taking off the bumper completely ? I think i have radar sensor in the middle of the bumper also . Regards.
I may have this leak. Can you tell me where was wet in your car? I have a small wet patch under the front of the drivers seat. I have felt the underlay and it is wet in a larger area than the carpet. I found a new spot today where the front left bolt for the drivers seat is too. Thanks in advance!
Great video. I have a 2021 GTI. In the states theres is a spray called Fluidfilm, which is basically linseed oil, and it is a great rust inhibitor.... I think I will do this project soon before the winter.... thanks so much!
Thanks for the video. You helped me take my front bumper off to replace the damaged grill ...one hour off one hour on... but don't forget to wire up the wiring loom before you screw it back up.... like I did 😆 😆
Did this job on my Octavia last week. You could grow spuds in the dirt build up on this Golf, my car had very little, unless someone had cleaned it out before but I doubt it. Took the whole liner out and cleaned behind, then sprayed area with Dynax UC. Removed sponge, which seems to hold water at the bottom and haven't replaced it. Haven't noticed any increase in road noise inside the car and have driven through some heavy rain with no apparent problem of water going where it shouldnt.
Be careful when removing the small plastic cover on the newer models (2023->). The cover has two additional plastic "hooks" on the inside (top/bottom). The two additional hooks will likely break when you pull or reseat the cover. Those hooks are just very fragile. It's properly advisable to replace the cover. Also may want to push the plastic brackets (under the screws) a little upwards/downwards before tightening the screws. This will ensure that the taillight is more firmly held in place so that it does not rattle in its socket. It tends to be a little lose as it is only fixed by the two screws at the end of the taillight.
