Have both: one real one and one clone. The clone is alright, a bit heavier and gritty to fire but works great. The original, however, is phenomenal and also has a much better and grippier coating.
I have the real one and fake one the fake is a fun toy version, the real is just built like a tool. Like a air soft glock 19 compared to a real glock 19
@@jluis0908sva most likely because this watch was made in the late 80's early 90's when the Promaster was still relatively new and were all made in Japan. I usually choose vintage JDM models when I'm buying Citizen.
It's not a clone, it's a counterfeit. These Chinese knock-offs look good but if you closely compare them to the real thing the fit, finish and edge give it away. I'm a collector. A working man might have a different perspective.
@@dbmail545 Of course it's not as good as the real thing. The price and quality reflect that. But for $40 this thing has performed flawlessly. Always appreciate the perspective though. Thanks for the comment.
I have one of those without the serrated blade. I'm not sure why I got it. I already had my first Ultratech. Maybe to take it apart although I never did so.
Buying a clone does not deter me from buying a real one. The price of the real ones do. If the clones work, great! If they don't, I didn't waste that much money. I have read a few times that a clone Microtech was actually better functioning wise than a real one. Who knows but if you try it yourself, right?
Save up for a real one. My experience. Anyone worth their salt in knives will be able to tell it is fake immediately. You lose soooo much functionality when the steel is D2, which this almost certainly is. I didnt watch this whole thing and im sure that whatever steel he thinks it is, it is worse. Edit: yeah if it is 40 bucks, it might be worse than D2 steel.
@@livein101112 Thanks for the comment and perspective. I use and abuse this clone hard. Cutting boxes, cardboard, rope, etc. It's never failed me and fires every time. Of course it's cheap Chinese steel and aluminum! She takes everything I give her! Attack of the Clones baby!
@@productreviewsallday oh yeah 100%. I have a white river fixed blade if i need to go somewhere. The livewire is for the apartment. General cutting and fine work. Truthfully, i got it in part because i wanted a magnacut blade. I got some good clones as well. Fuck up that knife yo 😂😂
@@SharpChronofighter You'll never find better for the price! I literally cut a polyurethane T ball bat in half with this thing and it just begs for more!
It’s not about citizenship. It’s about copyright and intellectual property. Kershaw put a lot of money and effort into designing and marketing this knife and some chinese thugs just take it without permission and sell it. And by buying it you are supporting it. Also, I don’t think this is anywhere near CPM Magnacut steel so good luck with long time use and corrosion. And I wouldn’t bet my life on it, that it works in a real danger situation. Just watch the torture test from CBRx. The real Kershaw knife can stand extrem abuse. This clone is plastic garbage. Maybe nice to play around at home for a while pretending to be assassins creed, but when it comes to real uses you cant compare this to the quality of the original.
@@michaelknight141 I hear ya man. What can I say, it's a dog eat dog world out there. Never held the real deal, so I wouldn't know. The handle on the clone is aluminum, and like you said, the blade is most likely cheap steel. I have no illusions otherwise. I don't think anyone buying a $40 clone thinks they are getting a masterpiece of craftsmanship. Thanks for the comment, appreciate your perspective.
There is a clone company out there (Jufule) who says they have (and that they are the only ones) reproduction rights? If that's true or not, guess we'll never know.
Meanwhile, you are typing out you rant on a device that was most likely made in China or with Chinese parts, and all the other devices you use and rely on everyday, your vehicle that is probably loaded with Chinese shit, So, I say get off your high horse.
It’s a great design just not the best execution. Think of how many folding/otf knives rely on some sort of spring - this one relies on absolutely none. I love that. Plus they’re fun to handle.
I've seen these pop up on my local amazon. These are illegal to own here so these it's really a 'hot' deal. Poor guys who order those knives without knowing the law and get tripple digit fines.
It is one of the least sensible laws in the United States IMO. It's easier to flip open a standard liner lock but those are fine to have. Oh, and also, EVERYONE HAS GUNS.
@@BootsAndCatsAndBootsAndCatsAgreed. Very silly indeed. In Poland, knives are classified as tools not weapons. Now that's a common sense law I can get behind!
@@productreviewsalldayin Poland and most other European countries (as well as Canada where I live) it is legal to carry any size knife as a tool (albeit with arbitrary mechanism laws) However as soon as someone says “this is for self defense” it becomes a weapon, not a tool, being carried and is therefore unlawful under most circumstances. I carry 2-6 knives at a time and never have any problem because I genuinely DONT carry them for self defense. If I’m in a life or death situation yeah obviously I’m gonna use a knife if I have one but they’re actually pretty bad self defense weapons. If a guys beating my ass in a fair fight he’s probably gonna also just take my knife off me.
@@keircampbell9374 That's exactly it. Most people carry knives for utility purposes. Working in a warehouse, on the ranch, camping, hunting, fishing, etc. Shouldn't matter what kind of knife it is. They all have a pointy end.
They’re $900+ now since they stopped making them. You can’t hate on clones/fakes if they don’t even make the real thing anymore. They’re impossible to find for a reason price. Great video!
I got the 4max on a crazy good deal as well, and planned to use it as my work knife because of how cool and durable it looked. And then it arrived and I flicked it open and I thought “Holy shit I can’t take this to work, I’ll scare all the normal people.”
@@moatazragab5605 I don't love the handle design. The way it goes around your pinky. The blade design also isn't my favorite on the Spartan. But I've no doubt it's a budget beast!
I find it badly proportioned, a mix of Seamaster and Submariner. The dial is ridiculous but the worst is the name. Men's coat anyone? So here's a different review than those posted by the acolytes
@@peterlandbo2726 Thanks for the comment! Different strokes, for different folks. But yes, the name leaves something to be desired I agree. It does have a bit of a Burberry sound to it! Take care!
I have a pair that are older than yours and are in way better condition, literally in as new condition, (wait for it) mine were very expensive, here in the UK most things are and not the same model, mine are more like a combat boot, with white calf leather lining but they are so nice that I am reluctant to wear they in case they get scuffed or damaged, they have been polished more times than they have been worn (sacrilege I know) but I agree they are superb boots that need to be more widely appreciated (if you know, you know) considering that you do wear yours they in very good shape for their age and a testament to you that you care for your gear. Long may they bring you good service, take care mate and Regards from all here in the UK.
@@robertkirk4387 That's awesome!!! Thanks for sharing that. Very cool. You're right. If you know, you know! Thank you for the well wishes from all the way across the pond. You take care as well!
Chiappa is releasing the new LTL Charlie at the end of the month. Its a more powerful version of the Alfa/Bravo that will use an actual magazine for ammo so you don't need to load it under the barrel. I love my Bravo, but I'm looking forward to the Charlie for my EDC. I also keep a 50 Joule HDX for home defense. It fired a 4.6 gram round at 320-340 mph.
I really like this review bro 😂 "I don't need some burnout working in a vape shop mixing my juice" seriously loved that. But thanks for the review, looking at getting this juice.
@productreviewsallday I'm gonna get this one in my order today. I also wanted to say that I totally agree with you I hate adding the nicotine to my juice, if it's not included I'm not gonna buy it also it chages the flavor because then it needs to steep for awhile. Hope to see some more reviews like this one again!!
For fuck sake they are for sale to buy. Our entire economy in the united state is based on cheap consumer goods from overseas and has been since the 1950s. The whole country is the whorehouse you psycho. Thats why im buyin the cheap one. Cause im guessing your and your dads generation was too busy robbing the hen house to leave anything for us. We cant all chuck a months worth of groceries on what is in all reality a toy for adults. Let us enjoy the few treats we can before all of your actions leads to irreparable blowback on us.
I just got mine and it only took 5 days to arrive (I live near China). My unit states 200m water resistant in both front and rear sides, in spite of the official website stating only 100m.
I recently bought a bronze version and within a week the crown pulled completely out of the watch. They sent me another one and it also had a faulty crown. There is something wrong with these watches.
I highly doubt it's actual 20cv. If I had to guess, I would say it's probably 8Cr13MoV. But for $40 you can't complain. I use mine pretty hard and it's performed great so far.
@@3quartertim3 it's been over a year since I bought it so it's not in my order history anymore. Just type in "Livewire knife" into the search, you'll be good to go.
